About the 11th Arrondissement location:

This classic Parisian vacation rental is located in the lively, up and coming Bastille neighbourhood in the 11th District of Paris. It is the perfect location for those who want to experience Paris like a local and live like Parisians do. The neighbourhood is home to two fantastic farmers’ markets, the Marche de Richard Lenoir and the Marché d’Aligre where you’ll find great fresh produce, French cheese, fish, meats and charcuterie, lavender soaps and more. Visiting these Parisian markets is a great way to mix for the locals and get a taste (literally!) of daily life. The neighbourhood is full of French bistros and brasseries, hip restaurants, Michelin-starred chefs and more.

Take a tour along the Quai de l’Arsenal to see some of the famous Parisian “péniches”, or house boats. You can also take a cruise on the Canal Saint Martin. Stoll past the Bastille and towards the River Seine to reach the Ile Saint Louis, home of Berthillon ice cream, or the Ile de la Cite, home to the Notre Dame Cathedral. Don’t forget to visit the Promenade Plantée, a Parisian favourite for jogging and walking on an elevated park above the city.

The magnificent Place des Vosges is a short walk away and should definitely be on your Paris to-do list. A favourite green space of Parisians, on a sunny Parisian day, you’ll find this square full of people having a picnic and children playing in its many fountains. The historic arcades surrounding the square house fine art galleries, chic restaurants, street musicians and the former home of French writer Victor Hugo, the man behind works such as Les Miserables et Notre Dame de Paris. You can visit Victor Hugo’s house for free and admire the views of the Places des Vosges from above.

Lose yourself in Paris and wander the streets, admiring the fine architecture, historic cobblestones and more. With its close proximity to the Bastille Metro Stop (Lines 1, 5 and 8), accessing other areas of the Paris is extremely easy. Just hop on a train to reach the Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysees and Arc de Triomphe, Montmartre and the Sacre Coeur and more! The Line 1 will quickly take you to Les Halles, giving you an easy link to Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports from central Paris. The RER A line runs from this station as well and provides the easiest way to get to Disneyland Paris.

Great Ambiance and Location

  • 5 of 5

This flat has a great ambiance, has been nicely renovated and sits in a quiet little courtyard by the Bastille. The place was clean and tidy when we arrived, and there's a huge closet off the bedroom so we didn't have to feel like we were living out of our suitcases for a week. There was a nice young girl who was very welcoming and walked through the apartment with us on our arrival (the poor thing waited for us in the rain when we got a little lost/sidetracked on our way to the place). She told us all about it, helped us get our phones connected to the wi-fi and gave some tips on the neighborhood as well as how to take one of the Velib bikes. She had compiled a little booklet on the local area, things to see and how to get there, instructions for the washing machine, etc, which was very useful. The location is quite central, only a few metro stops to many of the famous sights in Paris (close to the Line 1 which is like the main artery for seeing Notre Dame, the Louvre, Arc de Triomphe, etc).

Cosy Bastille Flat

  • 5 of 5

I would definitely suggest this place to anyone making a visit to Paris for leisure or business. The location is central, the Metro is closeby and there's plenty of food and coffee options on the same street. The flat is calm and looks on to a courtyard where there's a hairdresser and few other small businesses. It was clean and bright, with good furnishings and very modern kitchen and bath. Great communication from everyone we were in contact with.

Very Nice Apartment in a Great Location

  • 5 of 5

We were very pleased with our stay in this apartment in a very quiet courtyard just blocks from The Bastille and would certainly consider staying again on a future visit to the city. The rooms were spacious with lots of light but with good drapes to block out ambient light at night. Kitchen was very well stocked with necessary utensils and equipment. Also very convenient to have washer / dryer combo. The apartment is towards the back of the courtyard and we could not hear any street noise or neighbors at night.

Location was very convenient to both bus and metro lines. We took Le Bus Direct from CDG to Gare de Lyon and there were 3 bus lines to Bastille that dropped us 2 blocks from the apartment. There were a few events going on at Bastille during our stay but we were able to easily get in and out of the area using alternate metro / bus stops to avoid the crowds.

We had confirmed our arrival time via text and were met by a representative at the designated time outside the courtyard with the keys. There is a grocery one block away for any food supplies and of course lots of restaurant and bar choices.

There was a maintenance problem during our stay which was handled with a phone call from the management company to let us know when they would be entering the apartment while we were out. Problem was addressed and apartment was in good order when we returned later in the afternoon.

The location is very convenient but 2 of 4 nights there was noise until early hours in the morning and we were sort of left on our own to manage it until the last night when the manager was called. For the price, I expected a little better.

Owner's Response: Dear Madison, thank for taking the time to provide your sincere feedback regarding your stay in our apartment. We would like to apologize for the fact that you experienced some discomfort due to the noise coming from a neighboring apartment. This is quite unusual as the courtyard is typically very quiet and the neighbors very respectful of each other. We have discussed with the neighbors about creating a peaceful living environment for everyone and would be grateful if you would give us a second opportunity to host you on your next visit to Paris. We will be happy to provide you with a returning guest discount. All the best until then.

Buenísima ubicación

  • 5 of 5

The flat and location exceeded our expectations.

  • 5 of 5

This apartment is not only "modern and spacious" but it is also very centrally located, extremely well equipped and really sunny. The place is even better than what you see in the pictures.

After a not-so-good experience with an Airbnb flat in London, this place was not only a welcome relief but way beyond our expectations. It was the most wonderful place the four of us stayed at during our 4 week trip of Europe. There was nothing that we found wanting, as everything that we needed was there in the apartment.

Our experience from the minute we booked till we left was wonderful. David was extremely helpful throughout our stay and his colleague (unfortunately we can't recall her name), who welcomed us was also very knowledgeable of the neighbourhood giving us a lot of very useful tips.

We also particularly enjoyed the neighbourhood especially eating at the very popular "East Mama's Restaurant" (worth the 1 hour wait) and "Menekse" , a surprisingly wonderful Kurdish restaurant in an alleyway near "East Mama's".

We will definitely stay at this place on our return visit, which we hope will be soon.
