We had a great time staying at the Amazing Grace cabin. Some notes for other renters:
- Coffee pot takes grounds, make sure you come with some pre-ground coffee. There was a small amount provided but definitely not enough for our group of 9 that stayed 3 nights
- The fireplace is decorative, don't bring wood
- For some reason almost everyone in our group forgot to bring travel shampoo and conditioner - it is not provided.
- The beds are pretty loud. Some members of the group had issues sleeping because of all the noise. Personally, I slept like a log and loved the extra pillows provided.
- A small number of spices are provided, but best to bring your own if you're cooking. We were able to order pizza one night so it's not *completely* the middle of nowhere
Overall i'd love to come back and rent again. We really had the best time and loved our stay.
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Amazing Grace. This was a very clean, neatly kept place. The young adults and children greatly enjoyed playing pool; and even though there was no real fireplace, the electric faux fireplace provided a very nice ambiance. We were also impressed by the fact that the house was decorated for Christmas. It made us feel very much at home. The owners were very quick to answer any questions that we had before our stay also. My only recommendation would be to have some dishes that were more microwave safe than the ones provided. I personally do not like using plastic in the microwave from a safety standpoint. Other than that, most utensils and pans that one would need were provided. Really, everything was provided. There were plenty of blankets, pillows, towels, etc. Amazing Grace is a place that our family would definitely return to if ever up near Shenandoah again, and I would recommend it to anyone.
This was a lovely, relaxing house for a Thanksgiving family getaway. The kitchen was big enough for us to easily make a delicious holiday meal, and we enjoyed unwinding with the pool table and large-screen tv. In the mornings we watched the sun rise over the mountain with our coffee, and we saw a couple deer in the front yard. The house was a quick, scenic drive into Shenandoah National Park.
Nice amount of space. No real views to speak of. Kitchen was poorly stocked with cooking items. There were no wine glasses and we ended up donating some to the home. The beds were uncomfortable. Pool table was a nice addition but the cue sticks were not in great shape!
Location to the park was a big plus.
Overall, I would not recommend this property.
My family had a wonderful time at Amazing Grace! I reserved Amazing Grace less than a week before my vacation. Although it took some time to choose between two locations, the only thing that I regret is that I didn't reserve one extra day to stay.
The place is amazing and peaceful. The place is well-kept inside and out. There is a tremendous amount of space for family. My children enjoyed playing pool every day when we returned from activities. There are board games available for family fun. Although there is satellite television and wifi, we did not turn on the television. We were able to connect to wifi and occasionally received texts. We have Verizon and reception was non-existent. By the way, that was good. We did see deer daily but no bear. Although it would have been nice to see, I went to my car often so I happy there were no encounters.
The location is great. At first, I wasn't sure about grocery shopping and local dining. After learning our way, we learned everything was a short drive up the road.
While making reservations, I learned that Woody and Lisa owned Jordan Hollow Stables(JHS), also. My family planned to go horseback riding and we were planning another location until we learned about JHS. We had a great time there and I lost my Fitbit. In 3 days, Lisa found it and mailed it to me.
My family wants to visit again and hope that our schedule will allow us to visit in the near future.
The location of the cabin is perfect for Luray and surrounding areas. The home is extremely clean and well kept and probably the nicest place we've used via VRBO in the Luray/Page County area. The owners are very responsive and made getting in and out a breeze. Such a peaceful place and a beautiful setting. Enjoyed the sunrises each morning coming up over the mountain. The whole family enjoyed the pool table and my wife and I appreciated the well stocked kitchen. We felt right at home because the property is cared for like we would care for our own house. We will definitely be back. No more searching for cabins when we come to Luray!
