bonnie schollianos purchased this apartment in 2004
guests tell us it's like living in a treehouse and one, a birdwatcher and photographer, told us he snapped 55 different kinds of birds in our gardens during his stay! and the complimentary fruits of the season growing in the gardens are just for you! we do this to fund our pet rescue and foster efforts. our quiet and docile pets are kept inside and are never allowed upstairs in your vacation apartment nor outside when guests are in.
This property is amazing and I highly recommend it! You have a nice spacious outdoor space with a hammock that looks at el yunque, a short walk to a beautiful beach and the yummiest and cheapest food I had while in PR right across the street! Unfortunately we didn't get to hit the beach near the house or kayak to monkey island because it was raining there most of the week so we ended up exploring other parts of the island. I've heard monkey island is wonderful though! You're a short drive to Fajardo (has the bio bay, ferries to the islands, and seven seas beach) and there is a beautiful scenic drive along the southern coast just 10/15 minutes away. Definitely don't skip the interior though because it's beautiful!
Bonnie and Tony are absolutely amazing! I couldn't ask for better hosts and they are sure to make your stay even better. They really made us feel at home and helped make this vacation our favorite so far! Definitely going back :)
Although we only stayed overnight with a late check-in, the Tree House was just what we needed. As soon as we arrived, Tony greeted us and made sure we were taken care of and comfortable. He also recommended a restaurant/bar across the street where the food was delicious! Our favorite part, though, was the back porch with the hammock. Very cozy and relaxing! We also appreciated the flexibility with our stay (late check-in).

My daughter and I stayed here for 4 nights. This is a nice, large space with a great patio area. We ate our breakfast on the patio every morning. The full kitchen is great for saving money. We were able to cook breakfast before we left for the day and pack a cooler to take with us. The location is great with a restaurant across the street, beaches and a nature reserve are very close. Tony and Bonnie are great hosts and will make you feel welcome.
please call or text 787 672-9573 after 3pm on check-in day to let us know you are near. check-out is by noon.

driving directions from lmm airport in san juan to the gardenhouse- carr 3, km 73.0, 19 colcobao st punta santiago/humacao-
As you exit the airport take road #26 Oeste towards San Juan. Go*
until you see the signs for the exit to get onto road #22 this
will put you into a small tunnel and then you emerge and need stay in
the left lanes. Caguas and Guaynabo (do want) will be the left
lanes and Bayamon (don't want) the right lanes. The left lanes
of #22 will merge with and magically become road #18 heading
towards Guaynabo and Caguas and then again later merge with and
magically become road #52 towards Caguas. Go all the way in the
left lanes. Now you will be leaving the cityscape and coming to more
suburban/countryscape. You will see on your right hand side these
landmarks: the back of a Super KMart and then the back of a
Marshalls. Shortly after these landmarks will be your right hand
exit. Get into the right hand lane by these landmarks. Then you will come
to a part of the highway where the other side has a large line of
toll booths but your side does not have toll booths. Immediately
after is your right hand exit marked Caguas road #1. Take this
exit and it swoops down and off the main highway, drops you onto
road #1 in the correct direction. Now you stay in the right lane
and almost immediately you will come to an underpass and your crucial
entrance to Highway #30 towards Humacao. Now get into the left
lane and stay there. The highway #30 will go for awhile and then
will magically/merge with highway #60 towards Punta Santiago. Take #60
until it ends at a stop light.
Turn left at the stoplight onto road #3 heading towards Punta Santiago.
You will pass on your right a shopping plaza (walmart, chilis, wendys)
then on your left sams club and walgreens. Continue. Go several more miles
and you will pass on your right the nature reserve then the public beach of humacao,
then an auto parts store and restaurant.. we are located on the corner
across from that restaurant (homeplay) on carr 3. (if you get to the limon
restaurant you went a little too far.)
we are the two story (coral, brown and white) fenced in house with gardens on the corner.
you'll also see casa rustik on the opposite corner from our front gate.
