A day away from Dorking region is a day wasted.

We arrived early, after a long flight from Seattle, and were pleasantly surprised by the estate-like home, vast garden, enormous trees and serenity.

Our hosts, Sue & David, were most welcoming and attentive to our needs. They more than made every effort to accommodate us.

The apartment is comfortable, specious, immaculate and the kitchen was well stocked. The beds and linen were pampering. We found the earlier reviews very accurate.

Location wise, the Surrey Hills is an AONB - Area of Outstanding National Beauty since 1958 is true to its title.

There are many well marked trails (as well as cycling). We walked to Dorking via the Winery trail, which took us about 40min and returned by bus. The more we walked the woods, footpaths, meadows, heaths - it landed on us that we wish we had more time to explore the region.

We wholeheartedly recommend this apartment to our family and friends.

Lovely secluded cottage

Such a relaxing eight days at Leladene cottage. A beautiful area for exploring the surrounding countryside - and for access to London if required. The cottage contained all amenities and fresh supplies were awaiting my arrival. I can thoroughly recommend this cottage and just loved my stay there.

Very enjoyable stay in beautiful serene location

My husband and I stayed 13 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The apt is exactly as described with a very modern and well equipped kitchen. The bed was very comfortable. Sue and David, the owners, were very pleasant and helpful.

The property is very clean and well maintained.

The Boxhill West Humble train station is less than 5 minutes walk from the apt. We took the 3 minute train ride to a Dorking one day for grocery shopping. The cab from the train station to the Sainsbury store was 5£. We then took a 7£ Cab back from Dorking to the flat so decided the next time we would just take a cab.

The starter groceries in the apt were well appreciated after an overnight flight. That gave us a chance to rest before the shopping outing the next day.

We had an enjoyable lunch one day at the local pub which is within walking distance of the house.

London Victoria station is on a direct train line from the local station. We took the train several times into Epsom and enjoyed exploring that town. We found a market there, as well as great shopping in a mall. We loved the varied architecture of the buildings along the Main Street there. Another pleasant outing is Ashtead, two stops frpm Boxhill station.

A hint about the wireless internet. You do not get good reception from the couch in front of the window. My husband sat on the couch facing the fireplace and his reception was great while mine kept cutting in and out. We thought it was my ipad until we realized I had no problem with reception in the kitchen or bedroom or when I was sitting beside him on the couch.

I would have no problem recommending this property to family or friends.
