About the property

8 Bedrooms, 6 Baths, Sleeps 29

Feel the forest surround you with your stay at a Bit O'Honey where you can choose rest and relaxation or Pigeon Forge entertainment. Just off Wears Valley Road, ascend through the tree-lined gravel road to reach your luxuriously appointed eight bedroom, four-story log cabin. When you are not reclining in the main level living area with a cathedral ceiling and the warmth of the slate stacked fireplace, or tempting your appetite in the fully equipped kitchen and dining area, play away downstairs with foosball and air hockey or bring along your favorite movies to enjoy with the tiered couch seating and large flat screen television. The master suites come complete with rustic log king-sized beds, bed side jetted tubs and private deck access. The entire third level awaits your evening rest with twin sized beds on side of the catwalk while the other side has 2 twin bunks awaiting you and in the morning the floor to ceiling windows asks the rising sun to gently awaken you to a refreshing new day.

Breathe in the fresh mountain air at breakfast from the private decks nestled within the leaves. Let the soothing rhythm of the evening crickets lure you outside to the warm bubbling hot tub to watch the moon light up the cool night and as the day breaks take your morning coffee out to greet the sun.

Bit O’ Honey will leave you renewed, refreshed, and rejuvenated as you reconnect with the special ones in your life. You won't want to leave. Nuzzled in the hillside within Black Bear Ridge Resort, you are surrounded with serene peacefulness but only minutes to all the area attractions.

On your way into Pigeon Forge you can’t drive by without stopping at The Coaster at Goats on a Roof for a thrilling ride on the mountain coaster and interactive ways to feed the goats. Keep your heart beat pounding while riding the roller coasters at Dollywood, one of the best theme parks in America. Save time to shop at Tanger Outlets Center at Five Oaks offering over 110 brand names to choose from. While in town you have to see one of the legendary dinner shows! See who the top dog is at Lumberjack Feud.

Take the Parkway to downtown Gatlinburg for a variety of amusing attractions. Play a game of mini-golf, laser tag or bumper cars at Fort Fun, and visit the Space Needle for an astounding 360 degree view of the Smoky Mountains from the observation deck and at the base catch a show at the Iris Theater featuring a variety of distinctive shows. Head over to Ole Smokey’s Distillery for a tasting of authentic moonshine being distilled on the Parkway. Venture along the Great Smoky Arts and Crafts Community, just outside of the downtown area.

Pack up a lunch and head to the hills for a day of exploration! Begin with understanding the history of the area with a stop at the Little River Railroad and Lumber Company Museum, in the quaint town of Townsend, where the heritage of the company and the town’s people has been preserved. Adjacent to Townsend is Cades Cove, an eleven-mile driving loop that takes you back in time to a working grist mill and other historical buildings. Take a hike in the footprints of the pioneers to experience life as it would have been in the days of early settlers.

Great home for big family.

  • 4 of 5

Lots of room for the family. Parking is good. Kitchen tools are sparse, so plan accordingly. House could use some updating, but we will definitely be back.

Christmas Family Vacation 2017

  • 4 of 5

We had an amazing time at the cabin Bit O Honey. Plenty of space to spread out as there were twenty of us. Inside the cabin it was very clean and ready to move into for the week. The areas around the outside of the cabin did have some trash. Everything was in working order. (Except for a smoke detector battery which was replaced when we called about it. We also called about a noisy furnace which was inspected but the noisy rattle was not fixed :( It kept two bedrooms awake ). The kitchen is large enough for two cooks and plenty of seating for meals. The extra large farmhouse table turned into the spot for games after our meals. We did bring our own large appliances (crock pots, griddle, smoker) but a very basic set of pots and pans, blender, mixer, coffee maker and toaster were provided. Our only disappointment was there was no wine opener in the cabin! :) With 20 family members gathered, we didn't last two hours without that small appliance. Sleeping arrangements were perfect for us. Everyone commented on how nice it was to have their own space and bathroom. Our only 'complaint' was that there wasn't a 1/2 bath on the main floor. So everyone used the bathrooms in the bedrooms. One minor thing was the pool table slanted but that didn't stop us from playing. Also the cabin is not at all sound proof. We could hear the movie playing or people talking from the basement to the 4th floor...bring your earplugs! The view of the scenery from every room was spectacular. The location was so convenient to Pigeon Forge and everything there. We went into Gatlinburg three days and went hiking in the Smokey Mountains, taking the by-pass to save time traveling thru town. Some previous guests complained about no wi-fi, but our rental agency supplied a MI-FI (for a fee/deposit) for this purpose which was nice. We brought our own games and movies with us which was a benefit to keep the mass from being 'bored'. We throughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to our friends.
