We're a professional couple from Seattle with an importing business that brings us to all corners of the world. We love out of the way, undiscovered paradises.
Steve purchased this chalet in 2011
We became attracted to Marblemount a number of years ago while on hiking vacations and purchased a small farm there. This beautiful chalet on the Skagit River came along a little later, AMAZINGLY, just a few short weeks AFTER we took the rainbow shot that now serves as our logo. 'Rainbow House' is being enjoyed by an ever-increasing number of friends, clients and guests who have discovered the restorative magic of the Upper Skagit Valley and the North Cascades.
Wherever we are in the world, all we need to do is think of ourselves at our North Cascades property, taking brisk walks in the mountain air along the Cascade River to the Marblemount fish hatchery, watching Marblemount's famous bald eagles in Winter or the King Salmon running in early Fall.
We call it a 'Marblemount Moment.' So will you!
We had a very nice stay. The house is very comfortable and is set in a lovely little valley. Truly wonderful hikes in the area!!! The Northern Cascades are splendid! The little towns around aren't much to speak of, so bring your provisions. Steve is very nice to work with.
I stayed with my family at the Rainbow house for a long weekend. The location is perfect, with fantastic views of the surrounding mountains and country side and close to multiple hiking trails. We really enjoyed the spectacular scenery of the surroundings and learned about the salmon cycle in the nearby river. The house is adorable and very comfortable, with everything needed to feel like home. Everything was immaculately clean and cozy. The beds were very comfortable, with nice quality linens. The kitchen was fully equipped and the bathrooms had toiletries and every detail needed. The owners were very easy to communicate with and we had no problem at all making the booking or getting there. They also gave us directions and information on the multiple hikes available in the area. If you like to have a quiet and comfortable place to be after visiting a beautiful area of WA with lots of outdoor activities, this is the perfect place for you!
This is a terrific house for a group to hang out in. Loved the cathedral ceiling and wood interior! I just wish we had more time to spend there. The owner was very helpful in accommodating our request to access the house before the official check-in time.
This property is wonderful. Sweet spot to use as home base for the national park, hiking in the area, and exploring. Steve is responsive and friendly to work with via email! Couldn't have picked a better place to stay! Thank you!
Wonderful place to stay and the view is spectacular. The owner is super helpful. Would definitely stay there again.
Without know quite to expect upon arriving, my family, friends, and I were beyond happy to see the Rainbow House. The living room is perfectly cozy; the kitchen big enough for four people (and a toddler) to make a grand mess; and, Marblemount is top-notch beauty even in rainy February. Highly recommended for those looking for an excuse to either stay inside or go outside all weekend.
