Great home. Well loved and lived in. Very comfortable, and cozy. Great stay, we'll be back!

Loved it. Home owner was super helpful. House was gently lived in, but had all the necessities. Was clean and the land out back was amazing. Hot tub was just what we needed after skiing all day.

Relaxing second visit

  • 3 of 5

Had a great time. This was our second visit to the house for our annual ski weekend with friends and family. I will say the house has gone downhill a bit. Walls and fans are covered in dust and dirt. Found old dog feces in the upstairs room. The front steps are falling apart and are quite dangerous. We still had a fantastic time but I would recommend the homeowner request a deeper clean of the home and send out a handyman to fix the stairs. Thanks!

Owner's Response: The stair in question has been fixed and the stairs are not falling apart. The house is cleaned each time guests leave. The upper walls and fan on the cathedral ceiling are scheduled to be cleaned this spring as we hire a contractor to do this work.

Serene, secluded getaway

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I along with another couple and our two dogs spent two nights over New Years weekend at this lovely property. We could not have been happier. The house itself is clean, well maintained, cozy and comfortable. The location is perfect - quiet, private, and beautiful. On one of the coldest weekends of the year the wood stove and hot tub kept us warm and happy. Craig and Susan were very responsive and helpful with everything. We will definitely be coming back!

Beautiful home nestled in the trees along the Saco

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic stay with family over the Christmas holiday. It was perfect and cozy. The owners were able to help with any issues we encountered during our stay. Even when the power went out because of the storm we stayed toasty by the wood stove. Also, HOT TUB!

So peaceful

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had a wonderful time! It was so peaceful and serene. We enjoyed a walk in the woods and watching the birds. The deck was great for reading and grilling dinner. Our evenings in front of the wood stove or in the hot tub were perfect. The house was clean, comfortable and welcoming. Craig even gave us a late check-out time so that we didn't have to rush at all in the morning.

Great property & great location along the river for all seasons!

  • 4 of 5

We stayed here during Labor Day weekend 2017. The house is very nice, open and private. The home is not on the opposite side of the road from the river (as we thought), it is all on the same side. There are great walking paths and the river is nice and sandy and a great location for kids. You can tube or just wade in the water. There's a great firepit a few steps from the house where you can sit with a group of people and relax. The hot tub was a cherished amenity for all, even the kids when it was a bit chilly out, but I advise you to follow the instructions and find all supplies before using. The fireplace in the house works exactly as advised - takes a bit to start, but will keep you warm with little stoking after it gets going. This is a very private property and the neighbors are very nice as well. A local store is nearby if you forget anything. A Hannaford's is about 45 minutes away (Ossippee, NH) as well. Since we came to tube, the bridge to put in is under 10 minutes from the property right in the center of Brownsfield, complete with a canoe ramp and plenty of parking space. It takes 1-2 hours to reach the property from the bridge (depending on the current and water level). Oh, and the dog loved every bit of it.
