Relax and unwind in a small cozy cottage just steps away from Cherokee Lake. Enjoy the beautiful lake-mountain view while rocking on the front deck beneath the old Oak trees - no kidding! If you prefer a little activity, take a canoe or kayak trip down the lake or bait a hook and try your luck from the floating dock. Inside you will find a living-dining room, a fully equipped kitchen, sun room, and full bath with shower. A bedroom and half-bath are located upstairs. There is a outdoor fire pit to chase away the evening chill (or roast a hotdog or two) and a flat screen TV if you must. Perfect for individuals or couples celebrating a special occasion or who are looking for a quiet getaway in a serene setting.
This is a no smoking property.

My husband and I are happily retired and enjoy our life on the lake. We've lived here for 25 years and never tire of our beautiful surroundings. We enjoy spending time with our grandchildren and traveling.
Pat or Virg Maniago purchased this cottage in 2011
Sharing our delightful surroundings is immensely satisfying. There is nothing more peaceful than sitting by the lake bird-watching and enjoying the peaceful surroundings.
If you are celebrating a special occasion with your special someone, you will love the coziness that envelops you as you enter Piccolo Nido. Let nature's beauty lure you into a state of peace, love, and contentment.
We couldn't have chosen a better place to spend our honeymoon. We loved the kayaks and the bass fishing was amazing. We caught some huge bass right at the dock! Thank you for your kindness.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The property is located in a beautiful cove on Cherokee lake and offers many unique and personalized features. We loved the availability of two kayaks and a canoe in a addition to just lounging on the multiple decks and sitting areas. Pat and Virg were very accommodating and gracious to share their beautiful property with us. We hope to be able to return in the future.
My Husband and I just came back from vacation at the cottage. We had a wonderful time. We got to do lots of fishing from the dock and witness bald Eagles fly over our heads. We got to kayak and canoe. After a long day playing we enjoyed relaxing on the deck feeling the cool breeze off of the lake with a fire in the fire pit. Pat and Virge were awesome as well. Also loved the landscape and the "gnome home/ village". We will definitely see Pat and Virge again.
Far exceeded our expectations! The cottage was very neat, clean and comfortable. The views were amazing. Once we got there, we never even considered wanting to go out, except out on the lake. We took the canoe and kayak out, and fell in love with kayaking. We are looking to purchase our own now. Just sitting on the deck, enjoying the scenery and reading is just what we needed for some downtime. We plan on becoming regulars. Thanks for sharing your cottage with us!!!
We found the "Little Nest" comfortable and convenient. The only drawbacks people will find are a lot of stairs (Not for people with knee problems or very young children) and while we found the privacy more than adequate you should realize that the cottage is a guest house directly behind the owners home. We were very impressed with the deck. We sat and bird watched, then had a romantic dinner under the lighted pergola. We used the kayaks and enjoyed the peaceful serenity of the lake. We didn't used the fire pit or wood burning stove, but there was ample wood provided had we wanted to. Pat and Virg were gracious hosts and made us feel very welcome. We would highly recommend a zip lining company about an hour drive from the cottage called Foxfire Mountain, we visited twice during our stay.
Husband and I had a lovely Valentine's getaway. It was close enough to CNU that we spent great time with our daughter. Also the spot is lovely - the beautiful pictures don't do it justice. The host couple were lovely and very helpful - it snowed unexpectedly and they shoveled every step down to the cabin.
The only down-side for us was the multitude of steps and the snowy road to get there. Not sure I'd go again if snow were in the forecast. On the up side, the fireplace was well stocked and lovely. Definitely not for people who have trouble with stairs. And, getting into bed was interesting as we are both tall. All in all, however, it was fabulous and we will be back (in warmer weather :-)
What a beautiful place. The views of the lake are incredible. The deck overlooking the water is really nice. The cottage is beautiful and very, very comfortable. A great place to get away and relax. Definitely a place we'll stay again!
