Great place for a fall trip
The house was cozy for our fall trip to southwest Virginia. There was plenty of room for our family of four (including two teenage boys) and dog. The house had everything we needed, and we were able to take advantage of the fire pit . Only snag we had was that the Internet was out for most of the time we were there but we took that time to catch up on movies, books and board games. We found many great places to eat in nearby towns and enjoyed hiking Buffalo Mountain, even though it was chilly! Leaves were off, but area landscape was stunning. Overall, this was a lovely house and area to visit, not just in the summertime.
We and our furbabies really enjoyed that wrap around deck. Everything was nice
This is a beautiful house. It is tastefully furnished with everything you could want in a vacation house. Our two young grandsons were with us, along with their parents, and they had the upstairs bedrooms. One room is filled with toys which kept the boys occupied after many delightful hours of tubing down the river. The stairs down to the water are steep, but handrails and a rest landing make them doable. This was a simply wonderful experience from our first contact with Rich and Sandy. They were very helpful and insightful as to our needs. Many thanks!
This house had everything we needed! We weren’t there much after breakfast each day, but it was well kept/updated and had every comfort we looked around to find. My husband said there was excellent fishing in the creek outside and we thoroughly enjoyed staying there. The location was convenient to Hillsville and the Blue Ridge Parkway. We will try for this property again when we are back in the area!
A River Sanctuary on a Hill
This house was truly what any family imagines for a weekend getaway: homey, clean, safe and comfortable. The open-floor plan allows people working in the kitchen to continue socializing with those in the living room. The beds were SleepNumber beds so each side could be adjusted, which- when sharing beds with our kids, proved to be quite a luxury. The house allows anyone who stays there to take on a carefree attitude and it was perfect for tubing down the creek or playing board games late at night. There were tons and tons of games, books, and movies to keep you entertained (if you choose not to engage in the beautiful nature right outside your door). Our family decided to tube and kayak down the creek that was literally steps away from our door. While it is secluded, there are restaurants and stores just a short drive away. This was a wonderful, relaxing weekend for our family and we hope to return soon. :)
The house was cozy and clean. The stream below the property was beautiful, however the stair were a bit of a climb, especially when coming back up. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed our stay! Thank you for sharing.
