A B S O L U T E L Y perfect!
There are two main reasons to book this apartment - esp if you are rookie American travelers as we were!
1. The location is 👌🏼 It is in the Testaccio area of Rome which has a very local vibe but is close to everything. Technically you can walk to the main sites BUT you will be our your feet all day, you really should use public transportation- it is easy and the stops are very close to the apartment. Paola suggested we download the “Moovit” app and that made busses and metro a snap! (It works in Florence, Venice, etc too.) The area is know for its authentic Roman food and there were lots of quaint and delicious restaurants close by. Paola recommends several and we found her to be accurate. In addition, it quiets down very well at night. We had the windows cracked open all night and didn’t have any problem with noise.
2. As I have already alluded to, Paola is extremely helpful. Everything you could need is in the apartment: adaptors, guide books, restaurant recommendations, plus all the amenities mentioned in the listing. It is small (for Americans - the bathroom especially) but that is part of the charm. It is immaculately clean and comfortable.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Thanks Paola!
Thank you so much!!! You have described the neighborhood and home better than me. Whenever you like to come back you are always welcome.
Kind regards, Paola
all one could wish!
A wonderful apartment, perfect for two, and Paola the perfect host. Every possible appliance, all clean, comfortable bed, great location, terrific neighborhood. Close to bus, subway and train. And a book full of carefully annotated suggestions on what to see, where to eat, shopping...maps, etc., etc. Hard to improve upon, five stars! Thank you, Paola!
Thank you! I'm stunned by such a positive review. I thank you sincerely. At any time you want to come back you will be welcome! Warm regards, Paola
Delightful apartment & neighbourhood
Paolo was very welcoming and gave me lots of tips on what to do in Rome. There was also an abundance of tourist books and maps available in the apartment.
Apartment was clean and bathroom fittings and kitchen very modern. It was very quiet being in residential area so was like a little haven after a busy day sightseeing. There is a piazza very close which was a gathering place for local families with a good little supermarket and Gelateria opposite the square. There are enough trattorias and restaurants close to apartment and piazza to eat somewhere different for a week or more plus a choice of bakeries.
It was very close to bus stops (one being about 30 seconds walk and the other no more than 60 seconds). The metro station was also close but the bus service has very good coverage of Rome.
The Colosseum was about 20 minutes walk through a pleasant neighbourhood and past Circus Maximus and Palatine Hill before reaching the Colosseum. Also the 75 bus service stops right beside the Colosseum if you don't feel like walking.
It is easy to get to wherever you want to go with the number of bus routes available close to the apartment. Although it seemed far away at first from looking at the map in reality if you are a good walker then once you familiarise yourself it would be easy to walk or walk/bus to almost every part of central Rome.
The apartment was fully stocked with everything you needed for cooking and the bathroom had everything you needed including the important hair dryer.
An elevator made it easy to access the apartment and the interior of the building is immaculate.
Dear Pam, I sincerely thank you for such a detailed and positive description either of home as well of the neighborhood. I'm really impressed from your ability to highlight the unique advantages of home and of the area where home is located. Testaccio indeed is still a genuine and familiar area even it is nearby the most interesting attractions. You were a precise, clean, reliable guest and I'm really happy when the guests feel comfortable at Casa della Robbia. This is full of love and energy. Probably you have felt this. All the best and, once again, many thanks for your generosity. Paola
Beautiful part of Rome
The apartment located in Testaccio is comfortable and fully equipped with everything you need. Getting around Rome is made easy from the apartment as there are many options of transport just out side your door. Paola is a wonderful host and she went out of her way to show us around the neighbourhood.
Grazie! Thank you so much. I'm happy you felt like at home. It was a real pleasure meeting you. All the best for the New Year. Warm regards, Paola
Paola, is an absolute delight. I have never had such a marvelous experience, her incredible attention to detail is just simply unmatched. She was so incredible and patient in explaining the area around where we stayed, as well as where to go in Roma that it made it so much easier to really eat, commute and live like a local. If ever in Roma again, she will be our go to! Thank you SO much, Paola.
Dear Lilibeth, Thank you so much! I'm sincerely grateful for such a generous comment on your stay. I'm happy you felt welcome, even you and your friends were kind, smiling and friendly with me. Whenever you like to come back you are more than welcome! I wish you all the best for the New Year. Paola
The hosts were very helpful and friendly! They went above and beyond in accommodating our needs!
Our overall experience at the property was amazing! Paola and I emailed each other back and forth! She answered my questions regarding transportation in Rome and sent me an app. She was so very helpful and accommodating!! The apartment was sparkling clean and a close walk to a market, making it easy for us to buy food and cook some of our meals. The kitchen was very well equipped! It was also close to the bus stop that took us to the Vatican Museums and the Colosseum. It was a perfect accommodation for my husband, son and I.
Thanks so much for such a sincere and generous appreciation. : ) You and your family are always welcome! I wish you a Merry Christmas. All the best. Paola and Massimo
