We have had vacation rentals in the Florida keys and now have a beautiful home in St Croix on the crystal clear, warm waters of Cane Bay.
Tom Pierce purchased this villa in 2014
We traveled all over the Caribbean looking for the perfect lifestyle mixed with Scuba Diving and Relaxation. We found the laid back style of St Croix the perfect fit.
Plenty of parking. It is a split Villa connected by a gallery shared by both villas. The 1st floor of both villas the master bedroom with in-suite bath kitchen living and dining. Also a half bath and outdoor shower on the breezeway.
Beautiful accommodations, perfect landscaping, and an unbelievable view.
We had a wonderful vacation.
This is an absolutely beautiful home with a beautiful view of the ocean. The home & grounds are very clean and well maintained. The house is stocked well in both the kitchen (a good selection of pots, pans, bowls, glasses, utensils, collanders, etc.) and the bathrooms (towels for both bathing and swimming). The appliances are modern. Not all of the french doors had screens but that wasn't too bad. We seemed to congregate in the Sunset Kitchen as we took the Sunset master bedroom. There were five of us and my daughter and her family who live on the island were daily visitors. There was plenty of space if you wanted to be alone and the patio between the two sides of the house was the perfect gathering area. We ate our meals out there all the time.
The plantings around the yard were beautiful and we had birds nesting in the tree right by the patio. Enoli's are everyday guests.
The view is amazing. The pool was clean and was great for a morning dip or a late night star gazing swim and there are floats and beach chairs if you need them. The washer and dryer were in working order. We all hated leaving and I am trying my best to keep that view in my head when I need to de stress now that I am back to the real world.
There were two downsides - both DVD players and the CD player were not operational. We figured out how to stream music through our IPAD once the WIFI was repaired which was the only major problem during our stay. Either the service went out right before our arrival or the router was defective as the property manager replaced the router on the fourth day of our stay. That gave us WIFI in half of the house and it allowed us to finally use our cell phones, email and communicate with the outside world. The landline is connected through the internet so for the first few days of our stay, we had no way to communicate outside of the house. This caused me worry if God forbid there was an emergency. The property manager was in contact with us daily as well as with the utility company (we could access email if we drove inland to a wifi spot). I am not sure if it was a freak thing that occurred prior to our arrival or if it had been a previously unresolved issue but it was a bit of an annoyance those first few days. It made planning and communicating with anyone outside of those of us in the house was impossible.
I highly recommend the Yellow Sun Villa for a relaxing vacation in St. Croix.
We had a wonderful time on the island of St. Croix staying at the Yellow Sun Villa. We had two couples and two single people on this trip and the house was perfect for our group. The view of the north shore was wonderful, but I was a little disappointed that there wasn't anything within walking distance from the house. The Cane Bay beach area was close by, but by the time you walked down a very steep drive and a busy, narrow road, it just wasn't safe to walk anywhere from the house. The house was very comfortable and clean and the pool was lovely and there were plenty of exterior seating and lounging areas. The outdoor grill was a real plus, as was the outdoor dining table. The hammock was occupied a lot during our week. We had an issue with one of the toilets, which was not fixed while we were there and the main dishwasher didn't work, but Larry was able to leave some operating instructions and we got that going. We had 4 women and 2 men in our group and there definitely were not enough paper products in the house. One box of tissues, 3 rolls of toilet paper and 2 rolls of paper towels were quickly consumed. Also lacking were dishwashing detergent and laundry detergent, so couldn't wash the beach towels, bathroom towels during the week and could't run the dishwasher before we left. These are very small issues. Overall, I would highly recommend Yellow Sun Villa.
We have stayed at several places on St Croix over the last 5 years and this was the best. Everything worked well and everything was exactly as advertised. It is unusual to not find something less than expected by the ads, but it was all just as expected, and everything was very pleasant. This is the first place we have stayed where we plan to go back. Can't think of a thing to criticize.
This house is an absolutely stunning place to stay in St.Croix. I stayed in the house with my parents and brother's family. The house accommodated the six of us comfortably. Larry and Tom are absolutely wonderful people, quick communication and very accommodating with our requests. If you are going to come to St.Croix this is a great place to stay, the location is perfect, the house is perfect and the views are just amazing! Over all of that its just a few min walk to the beach.
We had a group of 6 staying for the week. First of all, the house was perfect for our group. We had 2 married couples which had the 2 master BRs and 2 single men who used the upstairs BRs. It worked better than we could have imagined. The Cane Bay Dive Shop was just down the road so we did not have to go far in the morning to get to the dive boat. The outdoor shower was great for rinsing off after the dives. The pool and view were outstanding for relaxing after our dives were done. The local restaurants were very good as well. The only suggestion would be to instruct people to approach driveway from far left side as you can scrape the rear bumper on a straight approach if you have a full vehicle.
YELLOW SUN VILLA
If you really want some time away from the hustle and bustle then come on down and stay for a while Recharge. Connect with the lovely deep, blue sea. YELLOW SUN VILLA is a place of peaceful beauty...there is no need to go or do anything if this is your desire.
But those blue waves do look inviting, don't they?
Walk to our beautiful beach, set yourself down on the white sand with a glass of wine at sunset or take a swim in the warm, turquoise waters.
Maybe you would like to take a morning hike up the road behind the house to the top of Mt. Eagle. No one will be on that road but you. Look for hidden flowers, tropical plants you have never met before, and glimpses of that turquoise water below. Birds follow you in flight as you walk. It is just you, the mountain, and the sea. Not many other places like this...so private yet so very accessible. Come and enjoy.
Now all of this quiet beauty is inspiring and might be all that you want and need. But maybe you are thinking about venturing out a little further? Well, worry not because just down the North Shore Rd. (walk or drive) sits the coolest place and it is called Cane Bay Beach. A real hidden gem of a destination without crowds and lines, where you can feel comfortable hanging out by yourself or meet up with some interesting characters! The curve of a white, sandy beach invites you to lounge, swim, snorkel, scuba, and kayak. The infamous 'WALL' is a 13,000 foot drop about 300 feet offshore. For all of you divers this is a great destination. Hal and Suzanne of Cane Bay Dive Shop are located across from the beach and will set you up...first timers too. Kayaks are available for rent also as is snorkel gear.
Across the road is EAT@ Cane Bay, a wonderful restaurant with local fish, eclectic specials and a wonderful wine list, as well as some very creative libations. Beware! Bartenders at EAT mix some potent island drinks! EAT has a weekly Sunday brunch with great, local music.
Down the road a bit further, is the place of 'sunset shot' fame, a little beach hangout and pizza place called Off The Wall. Everything is out in the open. Picnic tables sit in the sand, and the bar is a haven for the lucky ones who left the snow and winds and now call St. Croix home. Listen in on some tall tales as there are a few salty sailors and divers still around. What does Off the Wall celebrate EVERY DAY? The beautiful sunset, off course. Dianna and Craig offer a free, rum sunset shot every afternoon at sunset for EVERYONE in the house. Lots of music played here too.
Drive down the beach and in the next few miles you will have some more wonderful choices for dinner. The Waves, Above the Cliff, Sylvie's, and Rowdy Joes...from Mexican to sushi with great music in many of these venues!
