ABOUT BLUE RIDGE MOUNTAIN CLUB COMMUNITY - Blue Ridge Mountain Club includes over 6,212 acres of river valleys, creek beds, waterfalls, swimming holes, carriage trails, and stunning natural terrain. Built atop two of the highest ridgelines, giving more views than any community.

Or take a long hike along the wide gravel paths with soaring views. No need to drive off property to enjoy the best in hiking and natural beauty, it is truly right off your steps. This amenity of Blue Ridge Mountain Club is yours to enjoy.

Encompassing Banner Elk, Linville, Blowing Rock, and Boone, as well as numerous natural attractions like Linville Falls, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and Grandfather Mountain, the High Country’s appeal has always been twofold: spectacular nature and gorgeous weather.

Located at the crossroads to its most celebrated destinations, equidistant from Blowing Rock’s charm and Boone’s conveniences, Blue Ridge Mountain Club is perfectly placed to enjoy the absolute best of the High Country. Show-stopping views are the hallmark of Blue Ridge Mountain Club, giving guests the feeling of living along the Blue Ridge Parkway itself. Built atop some of the highest ridgelines in the Blue Ridge, sweeping panoramas of distant peaks and the lush, cloud-cradling valleys resting below begin the moment you enter the property and continue throughout each neighborhood.

For generations, families have traveled to this quaint, special place in the high country to enjoy the slower pace of life and friendly atmosphere. Continually voted “prettiest small town in America,” Blowing Rock is Blue Ridge Mountain Club’s sister community.

A weekend is never enough. Below is a sample of things to do for a week:

Day 1 - Relax and enjoy the views after your arrival. Have cocktails on the deck overlooking the incredible view of the mountains, or hop in the hot tub to unwind.

Day 2 - Arise after a wonderful night's sleep in the most comfortable bedding you will find. Plan a day for a hike, just outside the front door and down to the Blue Hole. Pack a lunch and enjoy a picnic by the waterfall and jump in the Blue Hole to cool off, if the temps are warm. Enjoy a grilled dinner alfresco on the deck, or pop into Blowing Rock for an incredible meal at Bistro Roca, Inn at Ragged Garden, or New Public House.

Day 3 - Explore Blowing Rock. Either spend the day shopping through the quaint stores or Tanger Outlet and enjoy lunch out, or for the golfers in the group, hit the links at the Boone Golf Club. If it is winter, hit the slopes at one of three different ski resorts close by for sking, snowboarding, tubing or ice skating.

Day 4 - Adventure Day. Take a white-water rafting trip for the entire family - not too challenging but filled with excitement. Or, travel to Asheville to tour the Biltmore Estate - just two hours away.

Day 5 - Wine, Spa or Railroads...For the adult group, choose from one of many wineries to tour. Start with the Grandfather Mountain winery, or Banner Elk Vineyard. Or spend the day at the Westglow Spa in Blowing Rock and pamper yourself. For the kids in the group, head to Tweetsie Railroad for a day of old wild west fun!

Day 6 - Hit the Trail. Pack a picnic and set off outside your front door to hike the Dugger Creek trail, through rivers, waterfalls and incredible views. Exploring the thousands of acres of Blue Ridge Mountain Club is calling you outside. If horseback riding is your desire, hit the trails with a guided trail ride. Rainy day? Drive the Blue Ridge Parkway just 15 minutes to the Moses Cone Estate to tour and step back in time.

Day 7 - Explore Boone. Enjoy the shopping, restaurants and college life experience in the charming town of Boone. Mast General Store is a must stop. Or, if more hiking and outdoor time is calling, head to Grandfather Mountain to walk across the swinging bridge.

About Bill Saint

Bill and Terri Saint live in Charlotte NC, only 2 hours from the BRMC Cottage. Bill runs a custom home building business in Charlotte and Terri is an interior designer.

Bill Saint purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Bill Saint chose High Country & Blue Ridge Mountains

After traveling to nearly all of North Carolina's mountain towns and villages, we fell in love with the Blowing Rock and Boone area the most. It wasn't until we passed through the gates of Blue Ridge Mountain Club, did we truly feel like we were in BIG mountains. BRMC is unlike any mountain community we've ever been in - incredible long range views, miles of hiking and graceful roads make it easy to access and at the same time feel like you are in a private luxury resort. The cottage has the most incredible authentic lodge architecture and is just the right size for families and friends to create lasting memories.

What makes this cabin unique

Sitting on the outdoor deck looking across miles of uninterrupted mountain views, waking up and seeing the same from your bed, feeling like you are in the most intimate mountain lodge you could imagine, walking miles of trails with waterfalls, swimming holes and beautiful nature, are just a few of the things that we come back for each and every time.

Wonderful stay at Blue Ridge Mountain Cottage

  • 5 of 5

5 star feel at this 5 star location in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Bill was the perfect host making sure the cottage was ready for our arrival and answered all minor questions both before and during our stay. Tastefully decorated and very comfortable home with stunning views of the mountain range. Clean and nice. Great hiking all around from their cottage located in the Blue Ridge Mountain Club community, which is an expansive master planned area that's very well maintained and manicured. Can't wait to stay here again

Beautiful views & beautiful home

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful home with every amenity! The weather was perfect and the views were amazing! The drive to Blowing Rock is about 25 mins and to Boone about 20. We were in town for the Blowing Rock Charity Horse Show & found the location to be slightly removed but the views made it worthwhile!!!

Beautiful! Immaculate! Wow!

  • 5 of 5

How many times can I say WOW in a review without it being annoying??? Ha ha We had such an amazing time and it all started with this home! It has an AMAZING view, gorgeous interior, ammenities galore, and a game room to boot! Everything you would possibly need (minus the food) was in this home. We DID not want to leave. The gated community this home is in is secluded yet it had so much to do. SO MANY TRAILS, both hiking and ATV. The personnel at the front gate made you feel welcome AND they remember you every time you come thru the gate. We really felt spoiled! Thank you for such a memorable stay! Because of our experience, we will be back!!!

Owner's Response: Kimberly, Thanks so much for writing! So great to hear you enjoyed everything at BRMC - it is an amazing setting and so much to do outside, yet just sitting on the porch with the amazing views is sometimes all that is needed! Hope to have you back soon. Thanks, Bill

Hard to beat this great house in the mountains.

  • 5 of 5

This is a great house in a great location. The accommodations fit our family perfectly whether it was the game room or the hot tub, or just relaxing on the top deck looking across endless ridges of green. Well outfitted for all our needs.

The owner has obviously taken a lot of care to make a vacation there something to remember! Our family will be talking about the experience for years to come.

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for writing a note! Great to hear you enjoyed it all, yes, the views are simply amazing and so glad to hear you enjoyed the game room, nothing like a bit of old school pinball and foosball for fun! Thanks, Bill

Great house and wonderful views!

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a great time at the cottage. The views from the back deck is spectacular. The house has the best stocked kitchen of any property we have rented. Since we usually plan to cook most meals in, we always bring a couple totes filled with cookware and kitchen items. The kitchen is so well equipped, we never needed any of our items. Everyone really enjoyed the game room with the pinball machine and foosball table. The cottage is located next to the community pavilion. We took advantage of the fire pit for smores and the lawn area for throwing the frisbee. The Blue Ridge Mountain Club's has numerous hiking trails, streams, and water holes to explore. Be prepared for a strenuous hike to reach the Blue Hole and Dugger Creek, but the hike is worth it. We look forward coming back for another family vacation.

Everything we'd hoped it would be and more. Exceptional!

  • 5 of 5

Very difficult to say anything new or different than the wonderful reviews already written about this special BRMC cottage as it was the perfect venue for my 70th birthday celebration with girlfriends and later, my husband. It is luxuriously appointed yet so warmly comfortable you just might not want to leave. The Saints should publish a tutorial for all vacation home owners on how to present the perfect home away from home. We could not wait for evenings to come so we could enjoy our wine on the porch and watch the sun set in the western mountains, then come inside, light the gas logs, play some Mah Jongg and then savor the peace and quiet after a day of shopping and dining. Wildlife sightings were plentiful - deer, squirrels, rabbits, chipmunks, wild turkey, raccoons and even the elusive Luna Moth. No visit there would be complete without bellying up to the pinball machine, getting your "flipper" fingers ready and having a "Pinball Challenge" in the game room! That certainly brought back a lot of memories and you leave there with many new ones.

Owner's Response: Katie, Thank you so much for your review! You've found our favorite spot - on the deck looking at the amazing views, wine in hand and sun setting. Somehow, dinner always gets delayed as it is simply so amazing out there! Hope to have you back again soon. Bill
