We had a wonderful time! The lake was terrific, and we enjoyed ourselves very much. Hope to be back soon!
We thoroughly enjoyed this home and found it had just about everyone we could possibly need. The home was well maintained and well-stocked to meet our needs and the owner was very responsive when we had questions. The only thing we could have used was more trash space. We often used paper products to save on vacation dishes and this make more trash so we found that 2 smaller barrels weren't quite big enough for the week. We will definitely rent again and would have no reservations recommending this home to our friends!
We stayed in the cabin so we would have a little extra space compared to a hotel room (we shared the first night with another family). The cabin was more on the rustic side but had all the amenities you'd need. Be aware that you'll need your own sheets, pillow cases, and towels. The view of the small lake was lovely. Rose was very attentive: when the pipes froze due to very cold weather (don't worry, this wouldn't happen often!), she made the drive to fix them right away and we ended up not being inconvenienced at all. Although we came mostly just to relax, you'd have plenty to do if you wanted to snowmobile, and you can probably justify driving to Killington for a day of skiing.
My wife and I spend a few days at this cottage recently and thought it was great. There is so much to do in the area and it was nice to come back in the evening and relax with a good dinner and a nice bottle of wine. The cottage has all the comforts of home.
Relaxation, relaxation, relaxation. This cottage was the perfect retreat away from the everyday stresses of life. My wife & I and our two boys (Labradors) had a great stress free vacation. Our boys swam everyday at the clean water lake which was easily accessed from the backyard. Our views were exactly what we needed & our days were filled with plenty to do. My wife & I both enjoyed kayaking without the noise or pollution of motor boats. The enclosed rear porch offered lakeside views while having breakfast & watching the sun come up. Whether you are on vacation for R&R or are an adventurous this cottage has it all. Close to many attractions including historic Bennington it was an ideal spot. Rose was great to deal with not only prior to our stay, but also during our stay. Very comfortable, cozy & clean. You won't be disappointed. My wife & I will definitely return. One last note when you are headed into Bennington stop at Papa Petes for breakfast & try a giant pancake. They will make you feel right at home.

We had a great week. With two very small children we weren't able to take advantage of much hiking, but we loved the beautiful view, playing on the dock, and trips out in the kayak. We also visited Woodford State Park just down the road, and took easy trips into Bennington for Dutch pastries and a fantastic playground. The cabin was comfortable and well-stocked. At a high elevation, we had temperate days and cool nights even in late August.
