Handsome, thoughtfully designed courtyard ground floor studio in Montmartre fabric district. Near top sites but away from the tourist hubbub; near Metro. Spotlessly clean, newly renovated, good facilities and use of space. Owner kind, responsive. Some lack of privacy from courtyard traffic; mixed working class neighborhood.
This apartment is outstanding. It is clean, bright, and airy. The pictures and the description accurately describe the apartment. The apartment manager, KD, was very helpful both before arriving in Paris and while we were there. She was reachable any time of day by phone, text, and email.
The apartment has an outstanding WiFi and internet tv/entertainment system. The kitchen is small but very functional. It is well stocked with dishes, pots, and pans, brand new stove top and microwave and small refrigerator. There is a shower and toilet, each in a separate room. The apartment is on the ground floor so it is very easy to get to after a long day of being a tourists.
The area where the apartment is located, Rue d'Orsel is wonderful. It is not a real tourist area but an area where the real Parisians live. There are so many wonderful cafes and restaurants, a grocery store near by plus all the speciality shops. On the street up to the Sacre Couer, there are many tourist shops so you can get those sort of things.
There are 2 metro (subway) stations nearby the apartment plus the tram up to the Sacre Couer. Spring time in Paris is wonderful and 15 Rue d'Orsel is a wonderful place to spend it.
We stayed at the apartment for a little getaway in early May. The studio, which faces a quiet courtyard, is the perfect size for a couple and offers all the amenities needed to make you feel at home. Khédi was a pleasure to deal with and offered some of her favorite restaurants in the area. We would definitely recommend staying here.
This apartment had everything you need. The listing accurately describes the amenities however, it is so much more in person. The apartment is newly renovated; modern appliances and bathroom facilities. The wifi is outstanding, as the tv/stereo/media device. It is called Freebox, and I had never heard of it before but it is very good and easy to use. The apartment is on the ground floor, which was a blessing after walking all around Paris and climbing lots of stairs in the subways. The bed is a queen and very supportive and comfortable. The kitchen is compact and only one person at a time can be in it but it is well equipped with dishes, pots and pans, cups and glasses, microwave, refrigerator, and 2 burner stovetop, and sink; it has everything you need to make good meals. We made several dinners and many breakfasts there. It was good because we like to get up really early and the cafes do not open that early to eat breakfast so it really helped up to be able to cook when we wanted to. For us, the best part of the apartment was the location in the Montmartre area of Paris. It is not in a tourist area but right in a real Paris neighborhood where local people live. Yes, there are plenty of cafes, restaurants, and tourist shops, but there are also local grocery stores, shops, and streets just alive with Parisians doing their jobs and lives. One of our favorite places to explore was the Sacre Coeur Basilica and the Montmartre art plaza which was nearby. Of course we took the train to places like the Effiel Tower etc. There were 2 train (metro) stations only several blocks from the apartment; we usually took the Pigalle station as it more easily took us to where we wanted to go. One restaurant we were not able to go to because we did not have a reservation was Chez Toinette on 20 r Germain Pilon; it is only about 8 blocks from the apartment and is reviewed as one of the top 20 places to eat in Paris. Get a reservation and go for us.
In summary, this is a great place to stay in Paris. The listing accurately reflects what is in the apartment, excellent and friendly support from KD, the apartment manager, (we were able to contact her easily, any time of day via phone, text, or email and she responded immediately to us, she was so helpful). The apartment is in a wonderful truly Parisian location, easy access to everything. We felt very safe living there for 10 days and had no problems whatsoever.
We can't wait to go back.
Montmartre is just outside the door. A short walk from the Sacré Cœur and the Halles St. Pierre. Lots of restaurants and shops in the 'quartier'. Paris if you want to visit Paris is just a Métro ride away.
