The location is so pretty. Terraced yard, spectacular view of the lake.

This is our second year here and I can see it becoming a tradition. My sister and I were able to have our adults kids and spouses spend a day or two with us . It was the best time. We all enjoyed the lake ,in fact my 2 year old granddaughter learned to swim there.

This cottage is a great place for family fun , catching up with each other and making new memories. I will definitely go back.

Great family getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We could not have enjoyed this property more! It was a really nice setting to get together with family who lives locally. Our children had a great time swimming, kayaking and hanging out with the adults by the fire pit in the evenings. Clean and nicely furnished, next time we are in CT, we will try to stay here again. Yes, it's small, but was perfect for our family of 4. Local restaurants, farmer's market and shops also nice and convenient. Great customer service.

Adorable, Cozy Cottage

  • 4 of 5

Due to a stroke of good luck, as well as owner flexibility, we were able to rent this lovely cottage just for the weekend, while in town attending a family function. The cottage and furnishings are absolutely adorable. It is immaculate. The grounds are gorgeous. The view is spectacular. We enjoyed the beach and were typically the only ones there. There was even a special gift waiting for us upon arrival. The owners were incredibly easy to work with, and communicative. The more time I spent in the cottage the more neat things I noticed about it. We would definitely stay here again.

Quiet retreat

  • 4 of 5

The Coventry cottage is as advertised and a good place for a quiet retreat. The lake is nice and the fire pit affords a lovely view of it. The owners were very easy to communicate with and left a kind welcoming gift upon our arrival! The cottage itself is quite old - would love to know about the history of the building. The kitchen is very tiny, so if you enjoy cooking like we do, be forewarned! We found that there wasn't much to do in the area, so it is a good place if you just want to rest and relax. Suggestions: a clothesline in the back would be helpful for drying towels, and maybe some tourist info and history of the area.

Owner's Response: The cottage was built in 1942 as a seasonal "camp" cottage. Winterized some years later, not sure of the year. I hope you were aware of the washer and dryer! Will have to add pics of those. Sitting around the fire pit, you have almost a 180 degree view of the lake. Coventry boasts significant Colonial American history, including the Nathan Hale Homestead and numerous homes and buildings dating to the late 1700's.

We enjoyed our stay at your cottage immensely. The view of the lake and surroundings was beautiful. The cottage comfortable and cozy. We like Aero Diner, Dimitri's Restaurant and Shady Glen.

A vacation away from Florida

  • 5 of 5

If you imagined a lake house it would be this one. Very cozy yet airy. Never needed the air conditioner with the breeze coming off of the lake. We enjoyed many hours sitting in the front yard overlooking the water. We will be back. The only thing I would change and that is because I am 6'4" is to have a bed without a footboard.
