Not ready for us, not set up for guests, mouse holes in sheets

  • 1 of 5

When we arrived at the cabin we had to turn on the propane outside ourselves, lite the oven pillot in the stove because it wasn't lit. Our bed sheets, blankets, and towels were in trash bags on the couch. Some of the sheets had mouse holes in them from being chewed. There were ants everywhere. The carpet had large stains on it and smelled. The bed was very small to share in the adults room. Cable and Internet wasn't up and running. The water pressure in the kitchen sink turned off on us, had to have a plumber come in.. When I asked for a refund for our disastrous first night even a partial one I didn't hear anything back. I was ignored. I do not recommend staying here this was our worst experience with any rental we have ever done.

Perfect cabin in the woods

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time in this comfy cabin. It was equiped with just about everything we needed. It was super close to the downtown area, so if we forgot anything, we could easily get it. We almost stayed an extra night! We would stay in it again.

Everything we were looking for in a weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was just what we were looking for. John was flexible with our check in and out which was great since we had a 7 hour drive each way. Everything was right where it was advertised it would be. The screened-in porch was great for hanging out on and the living room was cozy with the wood stove. It was close to the Causeway in Naples for restaurants and Long Lake and the Trickey Pond access points were great for hanging by the water. Definitely would stay again!

Comfy, cozy stay

  • 4 of 5

Great overall, very nice cabin and the area is nice. Wish I knew beforehand that we would have to carry the canoe quite a distance to get it into the water. Area of Naples is ok, need to drive quite a distance to get to the towns. Had a lot of fun on the water, drove an hour to Portland, and 1.5 hrs to Mt Washington in new Hampshire.

End of Summer Excursion...

  • 4 of 5

Let me begin by saying, it's sad to be home... Certainly not nearly enough time spent in Maine...

This was a last minute vacation plan for my wife and I along with our four children (ages 15 months, 5, 8, and 10)... Everything in the area was booked for the time frame that we were seeking...

My wife found this cabin and you really can't beat the price especially on such short notice... John was always pleasant to talk to and always willing and able to answer any and all questions... The cabin was great, cozy and rustic in a great area... Able to allow my 8 year old and 10 year old to walk to the ROW access points from the cabin... We all enjoyed the lake, the kayaks, the swimming, the fishing, and game nights on the screened porch, also can't forget to mention the serenity and peacefulness during the early mornings and with the Loons late at night... A great place to hold and cherish time with family as well as creating memories...

The kitchen was well equipped with everything you really need, although we did over pack and used most of our own supplies, however the fry pans and coffee cups were a life saver...! Nothing like being able to grill right from the porch...

Only con I can think of was the hornets which I am aware of, are an issue this time of season in Maine... My wife, our 5 year old and 10 year old were stung...

Friendly people to say the least, which being from Massachusetts is a rare thing to find... Please for anyone who stays, also check out Lakeside Dairy Bar, fantastic ice cream...!

Thank you so much for such a great stay...!!! Hope to see you again someday... (Although the cabin is for sale)... If I was only closer to retirement I might be able to persuade the boss into a purchase for a second home...
