Experience a modern but relaxed escape in refreshing Santa Monica Canyon. Just minutes walking to great restaurants and beautiful, wide, sandy beaches, and almost across the street from the famed Santa Monica Stairs. Or use our supplied bikes to get there and tour the area even faster!

Wide top deck to survey the peaceful, lush neighborhood and take in the ocean breezes. Private, extra-large hot tub in patio. Easy gas fireplace in the living room. Modern appliances and granite counters in the kitchen. World class ping pong table and foosball table too.

It's an architecturally designed house (renovated by film director Michael Mann), with a fourth floor that includes two spacious home offices for those that need an inspirational place to think.

The house comfortably sleeps 4 adults and 2 kids. The Master Bedroom has a slate fireplace (easy-to-use gas), modern tiled bathroom and comfy modern furniture. The 2nd bedroom has a double bed and balcony, and the 3rd bedroom has bunk beds and balcony - great for kids.

Where do you live?

Great house in a great location

We had a terrific experience from start to finish. The owner was very easy to work with -- good clear contract and house guide, very responsive on questions. The location is great. It's walking distance from Montana Avenue in Santa Monica and right near a set of stairs that go up the side of the canyon; you will see fit people running up and down these stairs at all times of day and it is endlessly entertaining. Parking is easy. The house itself is super, with lots of space for a family to be together and separate as needed. Our teens loved the ping pong and foosball tables. I enjoyed going to the Farmers Market and cooking in the well-equipped kitchen. Our kids enjoyed feeding crickets to the gecko. There is good outdoor space that we would have used if we had had better weather. The only negatives were that the bunk bed weren't hugely comfortable for teenagers -- would probably be just fine for younger kids -- and that there was a lot of dog hair from the owners' dog. But overall this is a terrific place to stay and we would not hesitate to recommend it to a friend or stay here again ourselves.

Owner's Response: We're glad to hear the stay was enjoyable and we always strive to be open and available to resolve any renter issues! We are upgrading the mattresses for the bunk beds so they will be comfy even for bigger teens. And we are investing in a professional grade vacuum cleaner to minimize any dog hair in the house. (Otto is a short-hair Boxer/Shepherd mix but he still manages to shed here and there.) If anyone considering the house has any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us. Thanks!

Best house (and renters) I've ever rented.

The owners are a pleasure to deal with and this house is a 10 in every aspect. It is only a few blocks from PCH in a very quiet neighborhood. If you want to know what its like to live in Santa Monica, be away from the crowds, be close to the shops, restaurants, parks and beaches that only the locals go to, then stay here. Otherwise. good luck dealing with traffic, tourists, high priced hotels, tipping and overpriced meals. And if you happen to like ping pong, there is a special treat for you here! Thanks Justin! We will see you next year!!
