Overview

About the property

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Very comfortable 3 bedroom/ 2 bath family home - kids and pets welcome! Located in the forest in a small housing area of Graeagle, CA. Open space all around - very safe for kids and dogs. Five golf courses nearby and hundreds of hiking and mountain biking trails. Graeagle Meadows Golf Course, which is within a short walking distance, is well known for its breathtaking mountain and river views. Whitehawk Ranch Golf Club is an award winning, championship, Dick Bailey designed golf course. Plumas Pines Golf Resort is a championship golf course known as the 'Jewel of the Sierra'. 2 other golf courses are within minutes of our home. Our home is in the Gold Lakes Recreation Area of the Northern Sierra Nevada mountains - this area has many high country lakes from small ponds suitable for swiming and picnics to very large lakes for fishing, boating, and camping. Also, the Feather River runs right through town! Graeagle has several excellent restaurants, small shops, bakeries, hardware/sporting goods store, post office, bank, a general store and a fun night life. Right near town is the historic 'Millpond' - paddle boat rentals, grassy picnic area, swiming and a fun place for the dogs to practice 'dock diving'. The area is surrounded with historical buildings and old mining sites from early California Gold Rush days. Our home is an excellent location for hiking, mountain biking, fishing, golfing, gold panning, or just relaxing! The community comes together on weekends for frequent festivals and historical events.

About The Owner

We have a home in the SF Bay Area and frequent our Graeagle vacation home on a regular basis. I'm an avid fisherman and hiker and our children love the outdoor activity including golfing! Last 4th of July we enjoyed the fireworks and main street parade and historical enactments with 12 family members including children and pets. We were very comfortable with plenty of room for all!

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2006

Why The Owner chose Graeagle

My wife and I have been coming to Graeagle for many years so we decided to buy our own vacation home 5 yrs ago - My wife's family has lived in the area for 3 generations! Cousins still live in Graeagle and nearby Johnsville. I love the fishing and hiking and my wife loves the wonderful 50 years of family memories and the peace and beauty of the area.

What makes this cabin unique

Our home is quiet and peaceful yet close to downtown Graeagle. We enjoy breakfast on the back deck where we watch the playful deer and listen to the birds.

Great for fishing!

  • 3 of 5

We certainly enjoyed our stay, however the lack of WiFi and having to deal with the garbage (we ended up carrying it home), (stinky) was a bit of trouble. The house was well appointed, clean and perfectly located for fishing in the lakes region. We don't golf, but if you do it's right across the street.

Wonderful pet friendly home near town

  • 5 of 5

This is a great house near town, clean, comfortable and a very well equipped kitchen. The deck is surrounded by pine trees and the location is great. We will definitely rent this house again.

The property was in a great location, just two minutes from our family!

  • 3 of 5

The property was nice, though dated, clean and well maintained. We loved the deck, using it early morning and evening...it was fun to watch the wildlife. The only downside was no AC, mid 90's while we were there, no breeze so difficult to sleep at night. Lovely area to visit!

Spacious, comfy house

  • 5 of 5

Leanne was a wonderful host from the initial email. The house itself was sparking clean and comfortably accommodated 6 of us. The outdoor seating areas and barbecue area were also a lovely treat at the end of long day on our bikes. The house is on a quiet street with essentially no traffic and very close to Graegle. We'll definitely stay at Leanne's again!

Wonderful Experience

  • 5 of 5

My family spent Christmas in this perfect home. Everything was well stocked and beautifully clean, and even though the temperature outside dipped into the teens we were warm and cozy. The owner, Lee, was very responsive and made sure we had everything we needed. I would absolutely stay here again. In fact, maybe we'll go back up in the summer to see the beautiful surroundings in a different season.
