About Dawn Fagan

My name is Dawn and I invite you to share this unique property. It is not all finely manicured, but an ongoing labor of love!

Dawn Fagan purchased this chateau / country house in 1981

Why Dawn Fagan chose Sugarbush Mountain

The waterfalls and clean brooks made this property my choice of land in spite of the dilapidated structure.

The absence of billboards marring the landscapes is one of the many attractions which drew me into Vermont.

Relaxing, cozy, and overall magical

  • 5 of 5

Looking for a perfect, cozy getaway for my fiancé and I, I stumbled upon this cozy gem. The place is immaculate and so much more than you'd expect. We stayed in the upstairs of the house and it was perfect. The kitchen is stocked with pretty much every tool you need to whip up a great meal. The owner, Dawn, is the most thoughtful & accomodating person I have encountered in a long time. She made it clear that she wants her guests to be totally stress free from the minute they book a stay. She sends helpful directions and answers every question promptly. She was actually on vacation herself while my fiancé and I stayed there and she still did above and beyond what was expected. I could sing her praises a million times over. James, the innkeeper, was really great too. He helped us get our car out of the snow and suggested an amazing restaurant for dinner.

If you're looking for a tiny slice of heaven that will help you escape a busy life in the city, this is truly it. Burlington & Mt Pelier are a short drive away if you want to explore and Sugarbush is very close if you want to ski or snowboard.

We enjoyed our stay at this mountain home. The description is accurate and the place is very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed driving to Burlington and also hiking in the Green mountains during our stay. The owner has thought of everything to make you fell welcome.

Comfortable Inside, Gorgeous Outside

  • 5 of 5

Dawn's property is truly stunning. Waterfalls, bridges and pools to explore, beautifully kept grounds, lovely gardens - I'm only sad that it was raining for half the time we were there, so we didn't get to explore and play more. We enjoyed an evening fire in the firepit, with dry firewood, kindling, and paper all provided. I left our extra marshmallows for later guests.

Speaking of food provided, the kitchen inside has all the basics, and Dawn thoughtfully provided a lovely jug of milk, a full butter dish, and a small loaf of zucchini bread that was lovely with our breakfast. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom spacious - it was everything we needed, and we'll definitely be back.

Beautiful, quiet, peaceful place to stay near lots of things to do.

  • 5 of 5

Dawn was a fantastic host and provides a beautiful apartment to rent. She lives on a large lot of land with running brooks that create a very peaceful and serene environment to enjoy. Located in Moretown, this place is in the perfect location in central VT. 25 minutes from Montpilier and about the same from Waitsfield and Waterbury. Not far from access to I-89 she is still less than an hour from Burlington as well.

Everything was clean and the kitchen well stocked with everything you would need to cook meals if you so choose. We arrived to some fruit and delicious homemade zucchini bread as well. Plenty of room including up to 2 bedrooms as needed. We even left a precious baby rattle by mistake and Dawn is sending it to us. Enjoy your stay, we highly recommend it and would definitely return.

Owner's Response: Thanks, Kevin and Liz and Gavin, I just hope the rattle doesn't get crushed. I tried to wrap it in a piece of cardboard they had. It should survive the mail. Again, thank you for the great review...you were a pleasure to host, as well, and are welcome back anytime. Cheers, Dawn
