Great Cottage in a beautiful spot

  • 5 of 5

What a great spot to get away from the city and enjoy nature. The cottage is very well designed, we especially loved the second floor terrace. Owners were very professional and welcoming. We were a group of 11 and there was a nice spot for everyone to sleep. An hour drive from Montreal was also a nice bonus. HIGHLY RECCOMEND

Great cottage with plenty to do.

We had a fantastic long weekend at the cottage, everything was as described and the owners were very quick to reply to any questions we had about the property. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone, tons of beds and activities for all ages.

Charming, warm, delightful cottage

  • 5 of 5

Our stay here was wonderful. Nine of us were looking for a place to stay for a family reunion near Montreal and we were all more than satisfied with this cottage. We stayed there for three nights and left wishing we could stay a few more days. It's nicely furnished with several amenities as listed. A good supply of cookware, plenty of hot water, ample pantry space. We were very comfortable. A few of us would have liked to have WiFi which wasn't provided. It would've helped to keep in touch with folks back home. The finishing is rough in some parts of the cottage, if that matters to you (it didn’t to us).

The owner forewarned us to bring our own linens. The VRBO site says linens are included. I have to say that the owner, Yvon, was very responsive to all of my inquiries. I received my security deposit refund within a week of our departure.

We didn’t explore the surroundings as much as we would have liked. The lake is beautiful. We were there in early autumn so it was quiet. With the number of motor boats we saw docked, I suspect that there's a good amount of boat traffic in the summer.

I'm confident that a couple of us closer to the area will look to stay here again. It was pretty much what we were looking for.

Most important thing to say: The pictures faithfully represent this very pretty and cosy getaway.

We are two parents with 15,11,and 8 year old boys. The lake was beautiful. The mosquito situation was reasonable - bring spray! We brought our bicycles and rode around the neighborhood a bit with my 15 year old, and I went for a nice walk with my wife to look at all the homes people had along the water. In the house, we spent most of our time sitting in the sunroom and in the dining room enjoying the warm wooden ambience and the gorgeous outside view. The home is large enough with enough spaces to accommodate a bunch of kids. The basement playroom was a big hit - between ping pong and foozball we never even got to the billiards. It is also very cool down there. The weather was nice (in early june) and the home stayed cool and comfortable - I presume there was no A/C. We were hardly upstairs, but there are some nice spaces up there as well (we slept very well after so much boating exercise). My kids caught and release a bunch of little fish.

I'd recommend that the owner mend the rowboat slightly at one oar lock. It is still usable but with a very small repair, it would be more fun.

Thanks very much to the owner. We look forwards to returning!

Owner's Response: Thanks for the comments. This is the chalet we have spent many weekends in the last 10 years with our 2 kids (now adults). We have excellent souvenirs. June is by far the worst month for the mosquitos, it gets much better as summer progresses. Sorry for the rowboat, it is presently at the repair shop so others like you can enjoy. We are happy you enjoyed and we hope to see you again.
