Located on 200 feet of lakefront with breathtaking views of both the sunrise and sunset from your private deck, this lovely one bedroom house is perfect for a romantic getaway for two, or for a small family seeking a lakeside vacation.
45 minutes from Rochester, Buffalo and Niagara Falls and right off the New York State Parkway, the location couldn't be more convenient. With cable TV (including Netflix, Hulu and HBO), WiFi, public water, air conditioning and ample heat plus countless amenities, you'll be on vacation the moment you arrive.
Just as lovely in the spring and fall as it is in the summer, this location is the perfect spot for parents visiting students in Brockport, Rochester, Niagara or Buffalo. Lake Ontario turns a vibrant dark blue in the spring and fall and a walk among the changing foliage in Lakeside Park is simply spectacular. On chillier nights, our fire pit provides a cozy place for you to comfortably linger well past sunset. A large stack of fire wood and plenty of kindling are available for your use. Long summer evenings will amaze you with skies loaded with stars and sparkling fireflies, the likes of which can only be seen in the country.
The unit is all on one floor, and includes a queen-size bed, a brand new couch that converts into a second full sized bed, a full kitchen and living room, as well as a full bathroom with shower. The entire house has been completely remodeled, and is absolutely gorgeous inside.
The property borders on Lakeside Park, where you can enjoy miles of hiking along the breathtaking bluffs on the southern shore of Lake Ontario. A new 18 hole disc golf course is also available for your enjoyment.
In the area you will find several golf courses, fresh produce, a drive-in movie theater and wonderful restaurants. The house is nestled in a lakeside hamlet less than 15 minutes from the Erie Canal. Kayaking and canoeing opportunities along local creeks and waterways abound. You will find each nearby town loaded with unique shops, local landmarks and fascinating history. When you return back to the lake, you'll find the perfect location to relax and read that book you have been looking forward to. Most importantly, you'll have a chance to reconnect with nature and each other.

New in 2016: An adult-sized 'sandbox'! For those of you looking to wiggle your toes in the sand, we've built an 8 X 16 foot sandbox, complete with reclining lounge chairs, off the first landing of the deck. Mother Nature gave us a rocky beach, but we developed a work-around for our sand loving friends.

My husband and I grew up in the Rochester area. We both came from large families and we love to travel and entertain. We enjoy this unique location on the lake so much, when the opportunity arose, we bought the house next door! We're happy to provide you with tips on good restaurants and fun things to do in the area, as well as directions on how to get wherever you want to go. We love this place and we want to make sure you do too!
Maureen Farnand purchased this house in 2010
This location is ideal in so many ways: It is 45 minutes from our primary home. It is quiet and private. It has gorgeous views of the lake. Lakeside Park is a hidden treasure and it is in our back yard. We can leave on a Friday after work and enjoy dinner on the deck an hour later. Few people know about this location. The property tends to stay in families for generations and has remained a hidden treasure we were lucky enough to learn about through my uncle who introduced our family to this beautiful spot in 1959.
There are few places I know of, where you can walk outside in your pajamas, cup of coffee and newspaper in hand and as you head to the deck you look out on the vastness of the lake and see six beautiful swans gliding by. You have to wonder... how could I beat this?
If peace and tranquility are what you are seeking, this is the place!!! We only wish we had more time to spend at this wonderful cottage! Darcy and Maureen were lovely hosts...Cozy cottage, awesome deck views and a fire pit...AWESOME!! We will return and when we have more time t spend!
Maureen was so helpful from the time I booked until the time we left. Honestly, if you're looking for a quaint, relaxing and romantic getaway, GO HERE! The cottage is perfect for two people and has everything you need. The deck and the views of the lake from it is stunning. We'd spend every night staring out at the wide open sky just filled with stars. Cute little fishing towns nearby and some good wine tasting within thirty minutes from the cottage. Lake Ontario is now one of our favorite Great Lakes after this trip!
This beautiful cottage had everything we needed to relax if only for a couple of days. The view and the chance to sit on the deck over looking the lake was serene. We took advantage of the bonfire pit and the night sky filled with sparkling stars and gazed at both all night long. The swings made us smile and we felt like the world we left behind was nothing but a dream as we watched the gorgeous sunsets. The beautifully updated cottage was very comfortable and Maureen was so helpful even before our arrival just to assure us of all of the amenities. We are already planning our return! Thank you Maureen!
We loved staying there. The owners could not have been nicer. Everything you might need was included. Such a beautiful place on the Lake. We would love to stay there again and hope to. Thanks.
My husband and I first stayed in the bustling city of Toronto, zipped down to Niagara Falls, and finished our week-long vacation at this beautiful and hip little cottage/cabin. Maureen couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful throughout the entire process, making planning this vacation totally stress-free. We arrived around 8pm to our very welcoming hosts, just in time for THE MOST AMAZING sunset we have ever seen, so be sure to bring your camera. Walk just a few feet to their awesome multi-level deck, and magically, your entire front yard is Lake Ontario. We found ourselves sitting by the water for hours, and even took a nap in the hammocks! Everything in the cottage is new and clean, and at a big 6' and 6'4", we were even comfortable on the bed. Even though it was warm out, we never turned on the AC because the breeze off the lake is so inviting, and open windows kept the cottage cool the entire time. The area is super secluded and not touristy at all, which we weren't expecting since you seriously have the best views of the lake, so be sure to bring your own food or give yourself enough time to travel to find some (though there's a cute little gas station right at the entrance that had awesome homemade sandwiches and literally hundreds of snack varieties). Avid disc golfers, we were able to walk behind the cabin through a back entrance of the state park next door to one of the coolest courses we've ever played on (but one wrong move and your disc could be in the lake!) :) We mainly ended up just walking the course since the views are just as spectacular, so even if you don't play, be sure to check it out! One of the days were a little gloomy, but the cabin is packed with board games and Netflix, so we still had a great time just chilling. Finally, we received a hand-written thank you card (along with our security deposit), which just ended the whole experience with Maureen's signature personal touch. We would go back in a heartbeat and would recommend it to anyone looking for a secluded getaway along the water. Thank you so much to Maureen and Darcy for making it such a fun and memorable stay :)
We couldn't have asked for more! Maureen took care of everything for us from the moment we pulled up! The property is awesome! My fiancé and I were looking for a stress free environment to get away to and we found it! The sand pit on the lower deck was a nice touch! We spent a few hours of our time there relaxing in the sand chairs they provided with a drink in our hand! At night we were able to have a fire overlooking the lake! Thanks again Maureen you sure do know how to host! We will be back for sure!
