This beautifully restored Butterfly Alexander (Palm Springs Vacation Rental Permit No. 6137000020017504) was designed by renowned architect William Krisel AIA. and built by the Alexander Construction Company during the 1950's. The home is located in a very quiet residential neighborhood that will appeal to modern architecture and art enthusiasts. It is the perfect place to relax and spend time with family and friends and is conveniently located in the Twin Palms Neighborhood within walking distance to the Ocotillo Lodge, Biltmore Hotel and the Ace Hotel and Swim Club. The home is tastefully furnished in a blend of modern and retro styles with outstanding amenities that is ideal for families and those looking for quiet, relaxing accommodations.
The Fully renovated kitchen is cleverly laid out, and the open floor plan connecting to the massive great room makes entertaining a breeze. The 50 inch plasma screen is connected to cable TV, Apple TV, Blue Ray player, and a Wii U gaming system. Large selection of blue rays and Apple TV movies. The house features two spacious master suites each with a private bathroom and two guest bedrooms that share large bathroom. All furnishings throughout are new, and the house is nonsmoking. The two master bedrooms have their own televisions, and there is WIFI throughout the home. Unfortunately we do not allow pets in the home.
The beautifully landscaped private yard has a sparkling heated saltwater pool, a large heated spa accommodating eight, a Viking Gas Barbecue, and an impressive outdoor gas fire pit for those chilly desert nights. Plenty of chairs and tables are available on the patio for outdoor relaxation and dining . There is a large lawn for lounging and the whole property is enclosed to ensure privacy and security.
The Twin Palms Neighborhood Association works closely with homeowners throughout this historic neighborhood to ensure a high quality of life is enjoyed by residents and guests. Additionally, the City of Palm Springs has a city wide noise ordinance which is vigorously enforced. This ordinance forbids amplification of sound or music outside of household dwellings. Fines associated with noise ordinance violations range from $250 for the first offense to $500 for each successive offense. Guests staying at the home are advised to monitor and manage their noise levels so not to create a nuisance as they will be held responsible for fines and fees associated with any citations issued during their tenancy. Individuals seeking a more lively setting may wish to choose alternate lodging as this home is not intended to be used as a party space.
This is the nicest property we've found in Palm Springs and we've been visiting for 5+ years. Real quality is evident in the renovation of the Kriesel/Alexander home, the landscaping, the furnishings, the art and team we interfaced with. Check in and out was a breeze! Highly recommended!
From the moment we walked in the door, we were impressed! This home has been thoughtfully updated and feels very spacious- perfect for our group of 8. Two master suites with in-suite bathrooms and two additional bedrooms. Very functional floor plan for a large group. The beds were comfortable and had great linens. The highlight of the property was the backyard- saltwater pool, hottub, BBQ, firepit, plenty of lounge chairs...this place has it all. Some of the pool rafts were a little grungy, but other than that, perfection! Looking forward to returning in the future!
Speechless!!! awesome house in and out!!!great art work and interiors through out the house. The house is lot bigger it seems in and out from the photos shown on VRBO. Julie the manager was so welcoming and nice!!! Nothing to complain but what a great house it was. Def. coming back for future stays or getaways. We had a great time for 30th birthday celebration and all our friends and couples enjoyed it very much. Thank you and Samuel and Julie!!!
We booked this legendary Alexander "Butterfly" home, situated in a gorgeous and quiet part of Palm Springs, for 2 families. Driving up, we couldn't help but admire the stunning low water yard, but it kept getting better as we walked into the very cool outdoor foyer. Opening the second door to the interior of the house was truly the wow factor though. Light abounds in every room, and the extensive glass gives wonderful views of the amazing backyard. In some bedrooms, there's spectacular mountain scenery.
Everything worked really well in the well equipped kitchen, the house and yard was immaculate, pool clean and warm (82F), the spa really warm (101F,) and the rooms airy and very nicely appointed. The layout with 2 luxe master suites is ideal for our kind of mini vacation with 2 families.
Frankly I struggle to find anything remotely disappointing at this stunning property. I'd be reduced to quibbles (such as the lack of a garlic press). The HD channel selection available on the large flat panels sprinkled around the home was great, and even the wifi was good. Julie was quite helpful and the instructions for pool/spa and wifi etc was very clear. All around a truly memorable stay!

Great place for a family holiday! The pool and spa were great. The outdoor fireplace was fun. We also used the outdoor grill and the indoor fireplace for our Christmas celebration.
We fell in love with this mid century modern home. We rented as two families with 5 children between us and it couldn't have been more perfect. The pictures online looked good but in reality the outdoor area and pool/hot tub were fantastic. The girls could do their gymnastics on manicured lawn not the usual stone and cacti and the pool and hot tub were immaculate and a perfect temperature as promised by the owner. Us adults prepared our thanksgiving feast whilst being able to watch the children in the pool. The house was incredibly well equipped and beautifully decorated and I believe we had totally new bedding. We chose this property specifically because it has two master suites which are cleverly at opposite ends of the house and therefore ideal for multifamily rentals and privacy. The views of the mountains and palms at sunset from the hot tub area were stunning. I spoke with the manager prior to our visit who was very helpful in guiding us on what was already stocked in the house and where we could get ourselves a turkey the day before thanksgiving and I also had contact with the owner regarding pool heating as we paid extra to be able to warm it a little more than is normal. Both were great to deal with. I wouldn't hesitate to rent again or recommend this home for a large family group or two smaller families. One note to remember is that the rental listing does state this is not a party house which I would have to agree with as the neighborhood is a beautiful, well established and quiet neighborhood. Good for families due to the good size of pool, board games, large TV and wii gaming system. Lots of great places to run and walk as the golf course is about a block away. There is no shortage of activities in this beautiful city. There are a host of world class golf courses, horse trails, and hiking for those wanting to enjoy the outdoors. For those seeking a thrill, stop by Off road Rentals off Highway 111 just north of town, where you can rent ATV's and go explore the desert. 'The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway is the largest funicular in the world, and the views during the twelve and a half minute ride to the top of Mount San Jacinto are absolutely breathtaking. For those who are seeking less adventure and more relaxation, there are plenty of coffee shops, bars, and boutiques all within walking distance of the house.
