About Todd
I grew up in northern Vermont, love nature and wildlife, and have been spending time in Maine for the past 47 years. This property is my getaway retreat and future retirement home. For the past 3 years, I’ve been allowing "select" guests to stay here 8-10 times a year to help with property taxes and upkeep. My ideal guests are mature, responsible adults who are property owners, know how to be respectful to neighbors, and understand “Lake Etiquette.” If you fit this description, please send me a message.
Todd purchased this Cabin in 2009
Why Todd chose Bridgton
The original camp my grandfather built was one of the first structures on Woods Pond back in 1936. My family built the existing log home in 1995, and I have spent the past 4 years renovating it. The property itself, Woods Pond, and Bridgton Maine are all very special. The property has a lot of personal meaning to me as the site has decades of family history and wonderful memories. Woods Pond is considered the hidden gem of the Lakes Region thanks to its serene atmosphere and abundant natural beauty. The lack of human development and crowds has allowed the many wild residents of the area including loons, moose, eagles, deer, and black bears to thrive here. Bridgton Maine has been named one of the best vacation towns by DownEast magazine. It’s also a favorite spot of author Stephen King. His book “The Mist” was set in Bridgton and describes the town in great detail, naming all the streets and landmarks throughout town. Stephen King and his wife visit Bridgton throughout the year and have been spotted at Hannaford’s, Rite Aid, and the Black Horse Tavern restaurant.
What makes this Cabin unique
Because this cabin was built on the location of the original 1936 camp, it sits just 12 feet from the shore of Woods Pond with unobstructed views of the water. All the newly built rental homes on the pond are set back from the water by over 200 feet with their water views screened by trees. My property features an extra-large, groomed lawn with no rocks, tree roots, or divots to trip over while you play or make your way to the water. This is a marked contrast to the newly built properties where you could easily twist or break an ankle on the bumpy ground. My lawn is perfect for playing horseshoes, badminton, whiffleball, volleyball, croquet, soccer, and more. This cabin features a 16' foot wide sandy beaches. This is a highly unique and desirable feature since the newer properties on the pond only have rocky shorelines and no beaches. The 16-foot-wide beach can be accessed simply by walking down from the lawn onto the sand. At this property, you’ll have the unique opportunity to share daily life in close quarters with some of Maine’s most iconic creatures. The Maine loon–known as the “Queen of the Pond”—makes her nest 1,000 feet away from the log home, where you will hear and see her daily in the early summer months. There is also an eagle nest at the end of the pond where the home is located. The eagle hunts around the pond daily and you’ll often see him soaring majestically above with a massive 7-foot wingspan. If you’re lucky, you’ll witness the eagle catching a meal out of the pond right in front of the cabin. It’s a moment that will leave you breathless, like a National Geographic program happening live right before your eyes. If you have a telephoto lens for your camera, be sure to bring it to capture this beautiful eagle in flight.

Summer Vacation
This property & location were beautiful! The house is located on a beautiful lake that my family enjoyed paddle boarding, fishing & canoeing on. Todd provided us with everything we needed in the house to make our summer vacation comfortable & stress free. It was a great little getaway!
This property is magazine worthy beautiful!
This property has been lovingly restored to amazing beauty! Every detail has been considered and great care has been taken to choose the right materials and colors. The scenery is perfect even in the winter - which is what I went up there for. I am not a skier, but Shawnee Peak is just a short car ride away (can see it from the upstairs window). For me, the peace and quiet was what I sought and I got all the I could ever ask for! LOVE, love, loved this little peace of heaven!
The Perfect Perch
Lovely, serene, comfortable and beautiful. Everything it was suppose to be and more.
Todd has thought of everything--we really enjoyed our stay!
This cozy log cabin was a great winter retreat for us and our three boys. Todd has created a log cabin that is everything you would want it to be (natural finishes including stone fireplace surrounds) but with great modern amenities (spa-like master bath, satellite TV, multiple flatscreens, surround sound, and many other thoughtful touches). The setting is beautiful--woodsy with great views of the lake from inside and easy access to outdoor activities. The kitchen is well equipped and cooking family meals was fun and convenient. Beds are super comfortable. Todd was a very thoughtful and responsive owner. We would definitely stay here again and hope to do so!
A piece of heaven
I was going on a bucket list trip all alone and wanted to get the quintessential log cabin experience on a lake in Maine and WOW does not do Todd's home justice. From the second I got there I felt at home. He decorated with Halloween decorations, my favorite holiday, and the place was absolutely beautiful. He was away for work, but he was readily available for a check in phone call as well as texts. The craftsmanship of this cabin is outstanding, it's homey, filled with family pictures, spotless and welcoming. I took so many breathtaking pictures of the pond, the foliage and the time I spent here will always be embedded in my memories. I didn't get to go canoeing, the water was a little too choppy on my second day, but there is a canoe available for use. I spent most of the time before the rain outside, listening to the leaves fall, it was so peaceful. No amenities are lacking here, all the modern conveniences in a magical location. Thank you again for letting me stay in your magnificent home. This was my favorite part of my trip. Enjoy those beers! ;)
Beautiful Log Home
This is a beautiful, well crafted log home situated on a picturesque Maine pond. The location is perfect. Set in a quiet corner of the pond, it offers just the right amount of privacy and peacefulness. The home itself is well cared for, clean and the craftsmanship that went into it is beyond reproach.
As for the owner, Todd, I can't say enough. He met us when we arrived, gave us a tour and couldn't have been more welcoming. He also told us that he would give us our space, but would be available for anything we may need.
Overall, this was a perfect mix of great home, great location and great owner.
Thanks again Todd!
Thank you Peter.
Location
Even though you'll feel away from society while at my log home on the water, less than a few miles away, you'll find Shawnee Peak Ski Resort, snowmobile rentals, bait and tackle shops for ice fishing, full grocery stores including Hannafords, great restaurants, rustic bars, live music, and movie theaters including a drive-in movie theater. In Bridgton and surrounding communities, you'll find a new Casino in Oxford, Maine, plenty of golf courses, day spas, lake airplane rides, boat rides on the Songo River Queen Old-Time double deck steam boat, and much more. In the fall, check out an apple orchard or tour a lighthouse. If you'd like a special one-day trip or dining experience, Portland is only a one-hour drive away.
