Enjoy the best nature has to offer at your private wooded waterfront retreat on Nelson Lake!

Comfortable in all seasons, and just 15 minutes outside of Hayward, this cabin with its updated kitchen, bath and flooring, this spacious home provides plenty to do both inside and out. With three bedrooms and sleeping loft, two family rooms, wood burning fireplaces, fully equipped kitchen, spacious yard, fire pit, and dock space for your own boat, you're bound to have a hard time leaving at the end of your stay!

The warm weather months tempt you to watch the bald eagles soar and hear the loons call while sitting on your private south facing dock enjoying the unique beauty of the North Woods!

Two full bathrooms and three bedrooms, in addition to a loft will accommodate a total of 10 comfortably!

During the spring and summer months there are many outdoor activities to enjoy including the use of our two kayaks and canoe, fishing, biking, hiking, etc. There are also several nearby sandy swimming beaches just up the lake a bit.

The winter months hold special appeal at this "Up North" retreat. Cross-Country Skiing, Snowmobiling, Ice Fishing, Snow Shoeing or daily hiking can fill your desire for exercise, however don't be surprised if you'll find just as much pleasure enjoying the ambiance of retreating in front of the two wood burning fireplaces with a good book and glass of wine!

Wonderful

The property was great, all that we expected and more. Our family enjoyed the kayak. The dock accommodated a boat and a rented pontoon. Found a few sandy spots on the lake for the grandchildren to play & swim. Enjoyed many evenings around the fire.

Great lake cabin near Hayward

Beautiful spot on Lake Nelson. Cabin is very nice. Only concern might be limited wifi access and no television access. There is a large library of DVD 's available and a good number of books.

My husband and I are in our 50's. While we enjoy living and working in the Twin Cites, we are true nature lovers and thoroughly love the peaceful surroundings of the Wisconsin 'Northwoods'.

We purchased the cabin 10 years ago in order to experience quality family time.

We intentionally did not have a TV or internet for many years so that our three children would be encouraged to play games, read, do puzzles, go on hikes, talk (to us and each other :) ) etc. We did eventually agree to get a TV, but with all there is to do, it's hardly used.

Now that our children are older they have learned to value these same activities and enjoy bringing their friends to share the 'cabin experience'.

Why they chose this property

We enjoy nature and often spend the entire weekend staying at the cabin, appreciating all of the many types of wildlife.

However, we are also fairly social and truly enjoy going into town with friends to shop, go to a restaurant, take in a live performance at The Park Theater, or go to the wine cave for a glass of wine.

Being 15 minutes outside of town lets us enjoy the best of both worlds!

What makes this property unique

Our Up North Cabin combines privacy and togetherness with it's well designed layout. It is perfect for two families or a reunion. There are private sleeping accomodations for both the kids and adults including:
* 1 Bedroom with a queen bed
* 1 Loft with a queen bed
* 1 Bedroom with a set of twin beds
* 1 Bunkroom with two sets of bunks.
* A secret 'fort' for the kids...
