The Center Street Condo is a luxurious place to spend your vacation. It features a gourmet kitchen, a beautiful travertine bath with a huge shower and two sinks, and a king sized bed in the roomy master bedroom (three closets!). There's plenty of room to spread out and WIFI for your convenience. The large living room features a 42' flat screen TV with cable and a super comfy queen sized pull out sofa with a Tempurpedic mattress. The kitchen will be a dream come true to any cook, with two ovens, stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops, and lots of space to work. The delightfully landscaped private yard and patio area are wonderful for lounging in the evening. A large BBQ grill is available for outdoor cooking just steps from the back door. Plenty of off street parking and a secure bike storage area, too. Whether you want to visit the parks, participate in action sports, relax, or get some work done in a wonderful environment, this is a one-of-a kind property that’s perfect for your Moab vacation.

Winter is great time to visit these national treasures, red rocks are spectacular with a dusting of snow! The nearby Manti-LaSal Mountains offer summertime mountain biking and hiking as well as cross country skiing on set tracks and backcountry powder runs in the winter. Check out Moab's new 18 hole Frisbee golf course too! Little kids can learn to pedal on the paved Mill Creek Parkway and bigger folks can head up the nearby Sand Flats Road to the world famous Slickrock Bike Trail. Everything is close at hand from this location one block from Center and Main Street downtown. Kid Friendly: Safe and secure gated yard/garden area right out the back door for play.

About Kel Darnell

Hi,

Here is a picture of the owners, Kim and Eddie, doing one of the things they love best, hanging out on the slickrock. Kim is the Executive Director of the Moab Trails Alliance and spends her time writing grants to fund more non-motorized trails in the Moab area. Check out the bike/pedestrian bridge across the Colorado River and the paved path system that links downtown Moab to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks as well as many popular BLM sites. Eddie is an Orthopedic Surgeon from Salt Lake City where he specialized in shoulders for 25 years. Now he practices full time at the new Moab Regional Hospital (2010). He and Kim met on a blind date and the rest is history.

Why Kel Darnell chose Utah

While living in Moab since 1987 I have watched and helped this community change immensely. Besides Moab Trails Alliance, my other business is a walk-in camppark for tents only, Up the Creek Campground. There is no other campground like it in town. 132 E Center is a unique property that was remodeled from a derelict building two blocks from Main Street. It houses 2 hotel style suites with outdoor patio seating on the the front side of the building and two deluxe and distinctly different condo properties in the back, complete with a fantastic private oasis garden. This is where I would want to stay if I didn't already live here! P.S. Eddie agrees completely!

What makes this condo unique

We are locals but we did stay in this lovely condo after we bought it to see if it was as perfect as we thought. Yes! There is no need for a car once you arrive. Everything in town is within walking or biking distance. The backyard, right out the back door, is private and perfect for after activity cocktail hour and grilling. The beds are super comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need to whip up a feast. Hate to cook? No problem. Walk downtown and find your favorite restaurant. There are plenty to choose from, anything from sushi at Sabaku (Yes it is good!) to other fine dining at the Desert Bistro. The galleries are loaded with wonderful local artist's work, some of them internationally known, like Tom Till's photography or Serena Supplee's canyon scenes. The music festivals, classical or folk, are first class as well as any theatre event put on by the very talented local pool of actors. Of the many 1-2 bedroom vacation rentals we've had over the years, this condo is by far the most thoughtfully designed, thoroughly equippped, stylish, and spacious. It's also immaculate. The location within the town and the Moab area generally is unbeatable. Kel Darnell, the property manager, was generous in answering my many q.s and giving detailed advice as I was planning our Utah hiking holiday. Five stars all around!

Convenient, clean, and comfortable!

We had a great time in Moab. The property was within walking distance to all of the shops and restaurants downtown. And an easy drive to the nearby national parks! The condo was clean, and had everything we needed for our short stay. And there was plenty of space for our family of 4. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in the Moab area.

Great downtown location

We stayed here over Thanksgiving week, and had a great experience. Easy to walk downtown, and the condo is in perfect shape. The owners include a super-helpful list of things to do in the area, with detailed instructions. We'll definitely be back!

Perfect spot!! We will be back!

We have stayed in many different places in Moab and enjoyed this one the most. Stayed with our two kids and we were all comfortable. Had another family of four over for thanksgiving and the kitchen was perfect for it. I've never seen a better stocked vrbo kitchen!! Cute yard, bike storage, great in town location!! Highly recommend this spot!

Perfect Moab Retreat

We were sad to end our five-day stay at this property. It was perfect for the two of us -- it was well-appointed, quiet and very comfortable. We especially appreciated the full kitchen (made full use of it for breakfast and dinners) as well as the comfortable king bed. The off-street parking was convenient and the patio was very nice as well. While feeling tucked away and quiet, the location was very central to many enjoyable aspects of Moab. It is right next door to the Museum of Moab and less than a three-minute walk to an excellent sushi restaurant (Sabaku), a totally kick-butt combined bike shop and coffee shop (Bike Fiend), and the Moab Visitor Center. Not to mention a five-minute walk to a truly excellent independent bookstore (Back of Beyond Books) and one street over from a very good health food store (Moonflower). It really was the perfect location and we will definitely book here again on our next visit.

We used the property as our base for a series of day trips to Arches, Canyonlands, Dead Horse Point State Park, and the Colorado River Scenic Byway. If you are a nature lover, absolutely do not miss an early morning walk in the Scott M. Matheson Wetlands Preserve, which is only about a 10 minute drive. And while you are there, considering driving a few more minutes and taking a leisurely walk in the lovely Moonflower Canyon.

Perfect home base!

We recently stayed at the Center Street Condo for a great fall weekend in Moab. The condo is very comfortable, clean and nicely furnished. The king bed in the master bedroom is super comfortable and my friend reported that the queen pull out couch was comfy too. We cooked a few breakfasts and dinner in the kitchen which was well equipped and used the outdoor grill too. We appreciated the extensive write up on recommended hikes, bike trails and other points of interest that Kel had prepared for visitors. The condo is located within walking distance to Main Street which was perfect as we spent a leisurely afternoon browsing through shops after some sightseeing in the morning. The fall weather was perfect for sitting outside on the patio - bonus there was a folk music festival across the street so we got to enjoy the tunes for free! I would definitely recommend this condo and plan on staying here again in the near future!

Luxury condo, clean, spacious. Walking distance to town but quiet and relaxing

It had all amenities- cookware, washer/dryer, etc. the bed was comfortable and the condo was spacious. After long days of activity it was a great place to relax. Unfortunately we didn't take advantage of the seating area and grill in the back yard, but it looked relaxing. Kel provided a comprehensive guide to hiking, biking, shopping and restraunts. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay.
