My family and I were visiting Florida for a dance competition in Champions Gate. We rented a property in Thousand Oaks for 1 week, Friday to Friday. Very easy to reserve online and customer reps from IPG were very helpful. After making the reservation, we needed to check in a day early. The property was rented out so the IPG rep sent me hotels in the nearby area. Check in time was 4 PM, they did allow us to check in about an hour early. Great location. Nearby grocery store and easy access to I4. About 15-20 minutes to Disney and a short drive to Orlando. The home was a 4 bedroom home and very spacious. We were traveling with our 3 kids. Decor and home was a bit dated but did the job. While unpacking the day we arrived we did see a roach in the kitchen. No bug spray at property so we purchased some and sprayed the kitchen. Home was very warm when we arrived, took several hours to cool down. Not able to put AC below 72, but each room had ceiling fans which helped keep it cool. TV's in bedrooms were small box TV's and 1 bedroom did not have a TV. House did have most common kitchen items needed. Pool in the backyard, some floats were provided. Patio furniture a bit dated as well. We did get a small dead frog in the pool towards the end of our stay. Not sure if it was our job to get out or not but there was no pool cleaning service while we were there. There was a ceiling fan outside, but did not work. On Wednesday night, we saw 3 more roaches. The following day I called and spoke to the "House Manager". He asked me if I wanted to get the outside exterminated. Didn't really apologize, but what are you going to do at that point? We ended up leaving a night early needless to say. This was our first time renting a house while traveling, I thought the price was good compared to 5 of us sitting in one hotel room for a week. I guess you get what you pay for? I have to give it two stars for the roach issue...I am TERRIFIED of roaches!
