Welcome home to Fava!
An unforgettable experience. Our goal is to make you feel that Fava is your own home and Santorini, your island.
The Fava Eco-Residences are housed in a group of splendid and unique captain houses of the mid 19th century, located at the highest point of the traditional village of Finikia. The architects and owners of the property started the rebuilt in the 1980’s with love and devotion and they transformed the properties into a spacious and modern, though with respect to the original traditional form, complex of summer houses. Today, the villas offer their hospitality in individual fully furnished houses of various size and aesthetics. They offer a sense of 19th century history, combined and harmonized with modern amenities and serviced by 24/7 concierge staff, located in the heart of the most picturesque and virgin from the tourist development village of the island. Fava is just a stone's throw from the magnificent Oia and away from the crowds and noise. During the reconstruction there were used methods following the bioclimatic sustainable vernacular architecture and materials which are eco-friendly with low embodied energy. All houses have wonderful views over the village, the famous sunset of the island and the Aegean Sea with the close by Ios, Sikinos and Folegandros islands on the horizon.
All houses have daily maid cleaning service and change of linen and towels every two days.
Every morning, a traditional basket with local organic delicacies such as rusks, homemade grape or fig marmelade, thyme honey, butter, free range eggs, Santorinian tomatoes, cheese from Cyclades and a seasonal fruit will be delivered to your door.

I am an Architect Engineer A.U.TH. and Environmental Consultant MA Architectural Association London, based in Athens and Santorini. Fava Residence is the vacation house i spent all my summers since i was born. A place that brings me back memories of the childhood years. It is a village where people still sleep with their doors open. An island blessed by God and damaged by nature. I will be happy to share this magic and breathtaking place with the prospect visitors.
Antonis Gavalas purchased this villa in 2013
We just spent six nights in this lovely house. It is beautifully decorated and very clean. The location is off the major thoroughfare with a spectacular sunset view over the outer (not caldera) side of the island. Mr. Grigoris, the concierge, couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating and dealt quickly with the few "start of season" issues that arose. He provided excellent restaurant and sight-seeing recommendations as well as a private cooking lesson! One of our favorites walks that he suggested was the winding path down to the Domaine Sigalas Winery. One caution: the house is a five minute walk from the parking lot/stores/restaurants over cobblestone paths with many irregular stairs. The inside of the house also includes many unusual stairs and angles, all of which add to its charm but were challenging for our group of 65-75 year olds! We rented all three apartments, which according to the listing included four baths, each with shower and toilet. In reality, the upstairs apartment has a double bedroom with toilet and sink and a single bedroom with shower and sink. We had intended to rent a car but found it quite easy to use the bus or taxi instead, without the hassle of parking a car. The uniqueness of this house and the hospitality of Mr. Grigoris made our stay on Santorini quite memorable.
The Finikia Village still creates the feeling of the good old Greece of the mid 20th century. The people here leave their houses doors open all day and night, are welcoming everyone who visits their area with warmth and it is so peaceful and tranquil, that during the night you hear only the wind and nothing else. Its spacious terraces make you feel like you fly over the Aegean Sea. On a good visibility day, you can see at least 10 other islands on the horizon. it is the balcony of the Aegean Sea.
On the same time it is located only 5 minutes walking distance from the heart of Oia, totally avoiding the massive crowds of tourists.
It is a place blessed by god and nature.
