Our cabin guests come from many walks of life, but we have found they share a common desire; to escape the hustle-bustle of urban life and rediscover the easier pace of living close to nature. We host many guests looking for a relaxing retreat; couples seeking a getaway from the city life, hikers and mountain bikers, to wildlife & nature photographers. You will be sure to unwind in a setting where you can experience the beauty of nature, the thrill of adventure and refresh your spirit.
Be sure to ask about our guided or unguided excursions! Lake cruise, kayaks, fishing, gorge hikes, antique barns, alpaca farm & mill, winery tours just to name a few! I am an expert at enjoying the Pearl of the Finger Lakes!
Personal phone conversation required prior to booking to insure guests satisfaction. I can customize your arrival and have your cabin warm and fire lit for those late arrivals for weary travelers.
I purchased 20 acres about an hour south of Rochester as a weekend getaway and set it up so I could just "show up" with food and drink and not have to pack every time I needed to come down, it was way easier to "getaway". I found that if I outfit the cabin with cowboy coffee pot, cast iron griddles and utensils purchased from second hand stores it made the task easy and way less stressful! There is a restaurant/pub five minutes away that is clean and has very friendly staff and cliental. JB's Steakhouse in nearby Prattsburgh.
Dave Hopkins purchased this cabin in 2002
Although purchased as a future home site for my wife and I, we soon realized the cost of running electric, running water etc. combined with four kids in college was unrealistic at this time. We have found such little things as pressing your coffee with water heated over open flame, as opposed to your Kuerig machine is a small price to pay for enjoying the peace and quiet.
With todays rising costs for getting away from the city we feel this is a perfect retreat for many guests from all over the world.
Large covered pavilions with fire rings, outdoor 'cowboy kitchens' as well as some really cool spots for just hanging out in the woods. You drive right by this little paradise in the woods without even knowing its nestled back in beyond line of sight. Incredibly private and my 'nice doggies welcome' policy make for a nice little get away. Minutes from local wineries, alpaca farm & mill, as well as Hammondsport and Penn Yan.
We have stayed at the camp on 3 separate times and each visit has been even better than the last, our boys had a blast, it is just a great place to get away and keep it simple and affordable,

This is an awesome place if you are looking for a step above regular camping! Dave informed me right off the bat that it wasn't The Hamptons and it was just like camping. We said that's exactly what we wanted and we couldn't have been happier! We stayed at the main cabin and there was plenty of space for the 2 of us and our 70lb boxer! There was even an area with wooden bar and picnic table that Dave said he built with his kids!
Dave was supper attentive, we got a little lost coming in and he was right there at the road to greet us and show us around. The whole weekend I would text him a question and he would respond right away. He even took us and some fellow campers on his bus to different wineries! The bus is awesome!! We hooked up our phone to the speaker and blasted music as we cruised around. He took us to spots we would have never stopped at and we even went to a great spot for dinner right on the lake!
Dave made sure we had everything we needed and set us up for an awesome fire the first night we got there!
It was great to have a place to bring our dog too, we never had to worry about tying him up and he was happy running around the property and greeting the other dogs too!
We can't wait to come back with a group of our friends!!
Our experience at the Pond View over Memorial weekend was definitely memorable! We brought our kayak halfway across the state to use in the pond. When we got there, there were several other boats at the dock. It was impossible to get ours in the water. Dave knew we were bringing our kayak. It was clear these boats had been there a long time, and the area was not clear for use! During the process of exploring the boat area, my husband fell through the dock! The dock is definitely rotting and needs some attention, totally not safe. We brought our 3 year old son, and we couldn't let him near the pond because of the conditions. The supplies/trash surrounding our cabin was disgusting. It seemed that the supplies were there to make your camping experience more complete, however, it you bring your own supplies you will not have any room to use them. There are PILES of dirty used equipment. Behind our cabin was a pile of trash, including 2 medical commodes. I don't mind my son getting dirty, but this was clearly not the place to let him explore. The cabin had a terrible odor. My husband said the smell was coming from the loft, he mentioned blood, hair, waste, and possibly a family of raccoons. The cabin was supposed to have electricity, it did not. The shower was not working when we got there. We had a family meeting after sleeping our first night, my son was begging me to go home (he loves camping). We were supposed to stay 3 nights and only lasted one. Dave said that he would give us half our money back, he did not. The best part of our weekend was pulling in our driveway. This was a total waste of money.
We booked at the last minute on Memorial Day Weekend and Dave was wonderful to work with! The cabins were rustic, but so lovely! Ours had a full wall of windows through which we viewed the woods upon awakening each morning. We had the most relaxing time and explored the region at our leisure. These are not the ritz, they are rustic cabins, but they are so comfortable, affordable, and tasteful. I would highly recommend these cabins for anyone. Couples, families, etc. Pssssttt.....I hear that the owner also owns a limo and will, for an extra cost, take you and your group on wine tastings in the area.

Very rural area, 6 miles from the closest town. We are located on the Keuka Wine Trail. Many west side wineries to explore, as well as local breweries. Ask us about our short bus wine trail tours! Let me know your interests and I can arrange great half day excursions.
