Exceeded our expectations!

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful turn of the century home with all the updates and modern conveniences. Comfortable, clean and roomy. We were able to entertain out of state friends between our daughters wedding ceremony and dinner reception, they were all impressed at the lovely place we were lucky to find! Highly recommend!!

Well Above Expectations

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful house is perfectly located in a quiet neighborhood and walking distance to stores, restaurants, and a grocery store. The house itself is absolutely pristine, gorgeously decorated, perfectly stocked with everything you may need. Elizabeth was the perfectly hospitable host, warmly greeting us and showing us around the house. Her recommendations for local eateries were exactly what we were looking for. She was very conscientious of making sure that we were comfortable. From the beginning of our conversation, she was timely in her responses, making sure that we would have the best stay. Of all my dozen trips to the twin cities, this was the best stay I've had. I will definitely be back to stay at this house. It was a treat and a retreat - far exceding our expectations.

Gorgeous house on a quiet street

  • 5 of 5

All the rooms were very spacious and comfortable. We especially loved sitting out on the porch at night. The house is beautifully maintained with lots of nice touches- dark washcloths for removing makeup, nice wine glasses and china. We felt very comfortable and slept great!

Great location and very comfortable stay!

  • 5 of 5

My daughter and I stayed here while in town for a weekend of Irish dance. The location of the property is excellent with Kowalski's market a short drive or walk away, and lots of cute shops, restaurants, and bars within walking distance. The house is on a quiet street by a cul de sac so relaxing and sleeping was easy. The house has loads of space, with nice furniture and super comfortable beds. The kitchen is fully stocked and includes a kitchen table, and there is a laundry room in the basement. Internet and tv worked great. The owners are friendly, helpful, and easy to work with. Highly recommend. We hope to stay again when we are back in town!

Amazing and Homey!

  • 5 of 5

This was my fifth week-long stay at Elizabeth and Rudolf's amazing property in the past two years. It really has become like a second home! The property has wonderful features such as heated tile and towel warmer in the handicapped-accessible bath; fully equipped kitchen; wonderful entertainment package; chair lift; access to zoned climate controls; plentiful on-street parking; your choice of coffee makers; amazingly comfy beds with choices of pillows; great closet space; and downstairs laundry. The property is as beautiful in person as the photos indicate, and even when the snow is piled high outside it is so comfortable and warm in the house.

Elizabeth and Rudolf are the most welcoming and wonderful hosts, available and responsive right next door but very respectful of privacy. We have run into very few problems during our time in their home, but each and every one was solved in a matter of minutes.

The neighborhood is quiet--at night, literally so quiet that you may need white noise if you are accustomed to road sounds. There is wonderful shopping nearby, and Kowalski's Market is either a couple minutes by car, or a quick walk by sidewalk.

I cannot say enough good things about this place and these people. I am so sad I will not be returning to St. Paul regularly, but when I do, I intend to stay.

Welcome to St. Paul! Voted by USA Today as the 'Best Romantic North American Getaway for 2014', you will love exploring our romantic capital city from your perfectly located vacation home. We're located in Summit Hill, a cozy, walkable neighborhood of beautiful historic homes, colleges, restaurants and unique shopping. Your vacation rental is on a picturesque cul-de-sac but just one block off of bustling Grand Avenue, home to many of the best shopping and dining establishments St. Paul has to offer. You can easily spend your time wandering the immediate neighborhood with its shops, restaurants and historic homes but we're also conveniently located close to downtown St. Paul which is a ten minute bus ride or five minutes by car. (It's also a great walking or biking destination: it's down hill but you can always catch the bus to get back home!) Downtown St. Paul is situated on the Mississippi River and has many beautiful historic areas and also great dining, entertainment and a year round Farmer's Market. In the summer months, you can take a tour of the Mississippi on a paddle boat. In the winter, partake in the Winter Carnival's many events or go ice skating outside at Landmark Center. The Xcel Center (Home of the Wild hockey team and concerts) the Landmark Center, the Ordway (Home of the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and the Minnesota Opera) are all located downtown. We're also close to many colleges: Macalester, Mitchell Hamline College of Law, St. Thomas, St. Catherine's, Hamline and Concordia are all within a ten minute drive. The University of Minnesota campuses are also easy to get to either via the scenic river road or via the freeway. Freeway access is equally easy: we are 1.1 miles to Interstate 94 and less than a mile to 35E. Our new light rail line running between downtown Minneapolis and downtown St. Paul is close by. There is a bike rental kiosk one block away in front of our closest supermarket, Kowalski's. If you'd like to explore our twin city, Minneapolis, it's also a short drive or bike ride away where you will find more great shopping, the Walker Art Center, The Minneapolis Institute of Arts and the Twins Stadium. The Mall of America is a short 15 minute drive with free parking. We're also close to golf courses, public tennis courts, parks and lakes. Of course, we're also a fantastic stop before or after heading up north to cabin country or the BWCA!
