THE LOCATION says it all ! This property is Under New Management .Many improvements have been made and it's looking quite lovely. It has SPECTACULAR VIEWS! One of the best spots on the entire Island, "Bar None". This property has such privacy that you won't get at most Oceanfront properties. This" Gem" of a property is perched up on a bluff just a short walk down the drive way, steps away from a golden sand beach with panoramic views of a beautiful tear dropped shaped Bay. It is hard to take your eyes off of the absolutely spectacular one of a kind living reef just below is so unique it can only be seen from this property, it's just breathtaking. Many people refer this location as the " Trump card " of Molooa Bay. This older Hawaiian style rustic plantation home is quaint and everything you need. It has new French doors stepping out from the kitchen with ample outdoor patio furinture. Trade winds come through The front bedroom which also has french doors leading out to a spacious lawn area . If it were the Ritz on this property you would paying in the thousands per night for this location. And you still would not have the privacy you have here. Enjoy 200 plus feet of ocean frontage with awesome views. Which makes this location very unique. The mountain side of this property boarders 49 acres of land Allowing more privacy. There are few homes on the ocean and on the hillside. The land on the other side of the bay is a panoramic view that is conservation land and just naturally beautiful. Molooa Bay has a tranquil, serene, organic feel to it. A place to unwind relax and have some fun whether it's a family vacation or you're here to have a romantic getaway. It's so fun at the end of the evening to sit by the fire pit and roast marshmallows or have a glass of vino under the star-studded night listening to the waves. If this were a Luxury home the rate would be unaffordable for most people.0This location is a prized vacation spot for many of our locals. HOW TO GET TO THE HOUSE:

Exit airport. turn right at stop light, go Northeast toward Princeville past Kapaa Town where you will find shopping gas food and restaurants Kapaa is just a 25 minuet drive. Continue North keeping alert to mile markers on the side of the road, watch for mile marker 16. Watch for turnoff less than a mile by the coffee/smoothie stand. Take note its very hard to see coffee stand at night. Turn right heading down to Moloaa Bay on Koolau road. Its a winding road about 1 mile, you will see Moloaa Road. Turn right on moloaa Rd. continue for another 1 mile till you see a Sign on right that says no outlet continue to fork in road go right through the.gate and continue past 2 homes and over the small bridge their will be a locked gate. Call Jude (208)810-1170 call or text (650)7208278 for combo to both the gate and the lock box number to get the key to the house, Let us know your arrival time and we will be available to help you get there if needed. Also take note not all cell phones work past the molooa coffee stand but, you can hook up to wi-fi up at the house there is no phone service provided. Just a few steps down the driveway and over the bridge on the right you will see a roped off area with no trespassing signs please note the green deck and picnic area is private property. Just a few more steps past that you will see a pathway with logs saying" BEACH ACCESS FOR MARTIN HOUSE" lined with coconuts. Pass through here to get to the beach. The view is much more advantageous from the bluff butt the snorkeling is great and boggie boarding is so much fun. Boards and snorkel gear is provided. Please rinse off ALL SAND with hose before entering the house. Also please rinse off all sporting gear before bringing it in to the house. We went all over the island hiking, biking and sight seeing, but this by far is the most beautiful Island, and absolutely one of the best locations. And we couldn't wait to get back to our vacation rental after a day of exploring. This great location has a spectacular 280 degree view. I couldn't get my eyes off this gorgeous Reef below, while we were watching the kids snorkeling around the reef. The big kids were up on the bluff enjoying the great views barbecuing Under The Pavilion. And at night the stars were so bright and loved the sound of the waves . Just wonderful being so close to the ocean for relaxing and having a glass of Vino. At night the Bay looks wonderful with all the little lights on the ocean from just few homes. Down on the Bay. What a great value for ocean front. We priced homes for 4 times the amount For ocean front. The house is a older modest plantation style home from the 50s but was clean and had everything we needed. Just the way it was de described in the description. You will come across bugs and a few roosters, but after all you are close to the jungle and should be expected. We came for the adventure and the Hawaiian experience for a great family vacation. And we got it all and more! My only complaint is the time was way too short so we are going to put a request in for next year now. I would recommend this property for a great family vacation or just an intimate romantic vacation for two in paradise.

What a Location!

I don't think there is a better beach house location on the island! It was incredible. The walk to the beach was at the base of the driveway and only took a minute or less to reach. Since the house is located at the top of a hill overlooking the bay you had a wonderful view to relax without the sand if so desired.

The bay was very clear, had great snorkeling near the reef, great surf in the middle, and easy to walk on! Never saw more than 10 people on the beach at once. The house is very close to the North shore where there are TONS of activities and great hikes. It is about a 2 hour drive from Waimea canyon, but you'll never run out of things to do on the North Shore.

The house was nice, does not have AC but hardly any houses do since the trade winds cool the house. If you tend to get hot they did have plenty of small AC portable fans for your use.

Wow! What a Awesome Location. A great place for a family vacation or a romantic getaway.

What a spectacular property the views are amazing! I believe it's one of the best spots on the entire Island and we've had many trips here before. Even though our stay was very short We are booking for next year so that we can come back again and have a big family vacation. We enjoyed having the Pavilion right off the kitchen for outdoor dining. I can see how this would work for two families with all the outdoor seating but also be a great place for a romantic getaway or a wedding reception. We just love sitting at the end of the property by the fire pit listening to the waves, and the stars were brilliant it was almost surreal. What privacy! you're not going to get that in a resort or hotel. The second Pavilion we took advantage of the shade and just relaxed. The views from there are amazing. The Reef is absolutely gorgeous and the water was so beautiful teal green blue. We love going down to the reef to go snorkeling but the views are more advantageous from up on the bluff. No one got to see that awesome view except for us. The home appeared to be original Hawaiian style Plantation So that was nice to be a part of the Hawaiian culture and the way they lived in their houses many years ago. It has kind of a raw organic feel where things aren't manicured perfectly like you would see in a resort but that was perfectly fine with us. The yard was still nicely maintained. I thought it was nicely decorated and it had everything we needed. I really didn't see any pest anywhere that other guests might have had problems with. I'm sure being on the island and close to Jungle you're going to have some issues now and then, but we did not. We really enjoyed renting some bikes and riding along the oceanfront bike path in Kapaa what a beautiful ride. We also enjoyed our visit to Hanalei it's a beautiful bay, but not quaint and small like Moloaa Bay. We did enjoy the funky little town with the little shops and restaurants we also enjoyed our hike at the napali coast make sure you bring water and sunscreen and a good pair of shoes it does get steep quite quickly but the views are worth it. I would recommend this property for your next vacation the only thing I would add is Extra beach chairs and snorkeling gear which is not provided and also it would be nice to have an option for a masseuse to give a massage right on the property where it's private. We did have an option to have a in clean. We had a great time and looking forward to a wedding reception next time.

I couldn't agree with you more I am currently at the property making some updates when I saw a school of dolphins coming into the Bay. Wow! What a wowonderful Sight. I understand the main purpose for this visit was to check out the property for a wedding reception for next year, it's actually perfect for that. There's two Pavilions one off the kitchen and another one at the end of the property that could be used for a purpose of a wedding. we've had a lot of request to have yoga retreats here recently so it's very versatile. In any event that's a perfect location whether it be a family vacation, reception or reunion. The hardest thing for me is to have to leave. Mahalo Joy

AWESOME LOCATION IS RIGHT!

Location location location!!! That couldn't have summed it up better. The pictures do not do this property any Justice. The views are amazing especially had a great time barbecuing Under The Pavilion by the dining area, and at night time we would all gather around the fire pit at the end of the property and listen to the sounds of the waves with the Moonlight beaming on the ocean and the Stars so bright. It was surreal. it's like no other place that I've ever been. We had such a great time watching the kids snorkel around the gorgeous Reef,it just pops out of the ocean almost like it belongs to a different planet Its so beautiful just to sit and watch for hours. We had a visitor, a monk seal who decided to sunbathe on the reef so that was quite entertaining and exciting for the kids. The house is just as described a older Hawaiian style Plantation home so we did not have high expectations.It was very clean and well maintained considering the age of the house. The surroundings are very organic and natural. We loved the white pineapples that were growing in the front yard. .It had everything we needed. The geckos were fun to watch, though the kids thought they were going to bite them I understand they have no teeth.

We spent as much time on the property and on the beach As possible. When we were ready to Adventure out We packed a picnic and headed to napali Coast, not far up at the end of the road at the state park and hiked up the Trail. what a beautiful view. Make sure you wear hiking boots and bring water. We also enjoyed renting bikes and riding on the kapa'a trail which is about 5 miles each way on bicycles along the ocean, fantastic. Our only regret as we had to leave and wish we could have stayed longer. occasionally The Roosters woke us up a little earlier than we would have liked but that was okay, it got us up to have a nice cup of coffee in the morning shade. The fans were enough with the trade winds AC would have been great but we could live without it. I couldn't understand anyone given this place less than a 5-star review if you had a view like this and the Privacy that this offers you would probably pay $$$$$ at a five-star hotel. We're so happy we picked this place for our family vacation instead of a hotel. We've enjoyed ourselves immensely and made lots of memories to last forever.

Do not stay here! House was in bad shape

I only share this in hopes someone else's vacation was not ruined like ours almost was. We thankfully found another house midway thru our stay and after trying to work this out with the owner, The house was filthy with poop on the every window sill, fleas in the furniture and roaches throughout. I'm talking months worth of filth. Even found dried blood on the master bedspread and used qtips in the back bed. What we thought were dried rags hanging in the back were supposed to be our towels. The laundry was disgusting and overflowed. My teenage son was slightly electrocuted when he used the back room plug. He actually was paralyzed to the plug for a few seconds and couldn't move and unfortunately I was outside and didn't know. I tried to be professional in my inquiries and never did Jude ask how my son was. We have been coming to Kauai for 25 years and have friends here as well. I've rented a lot of houses throughout the years. I'm used to the bugs and geckos and staying in older homes. But this was an infestation and the house is falling apart and filthy. The caretaker lives on the beach in a tent with his daughter so it's creepy awkward when you go to the beach as you feel like you kicked them out and they are watching you. Someone is going to get seriously hurt or bit one of these days. It's a real shame too as the beach is spectacular. Owner and caretaker got nasty real quick but I kept my cool as I didn't want to deal with the drama while on vacation. Nope, didn't get my money back for the nights we did not stay. I've made a huge complaint to HomeAway but they pretty much can't do anything. Read the reviews and go with your gut.

Owner's Response: Wowie! In 20 years of having this house on a vacation rental I've never experienced a guest quite like this one. The guest that stayed in the house the week before gave us a 5-star review on another vacation website. That speaks for itself!!! The caretaker went to the house the day that she left after she had complained about bug poop and a infestation of roaches. He did not find one roach anywhere in the house. There is problems with pests island-wide especially when you're in a jungle like environment. We do have Terminix go out monthly and more frequent if necessary. There was no gecko poop or andy other kind of bug poop on the window sills. We had a cleaner go out the day she complained ( a Total of 6 hours) after the caretaker went out to make sure any issues or complaints she had was taken care of, and it was! . I personally flew out to the house from another Island to find the house looking quite nice. I personally made some improvements to the house by buying new towels even though there was plenty in the armoire( which she mistakenly did not see) and some new sheets and new bedding for three beds and the floors got another coat of Epoxy paint. extra glassware and bowls and new pans were added. The laundry room has a new updated washer and dryer that's only a few months old and any towels that were hanging in that area were cleaning up towels to be used by families if they chose to. The things that she said we're totally over-exaggerated or untrue. Some people come to this property with high expectations that it is going to be like the Ritz-Carlton and it's NOT. But if it was, it would cost thousands of dollars per night for this spectacular location. one of the best spots on the island. According to locals and many guests. Its described as being a older Plantation home lived the way the Hawaiians did in the 1950s. almost all of the windows are updated and two sets of French doors had been added one in the master suite and one in the kitchen dining area. The first few episodes of Gilligan's Island and the first few episodes were shot right in front of the house. we also found it odd that she would think it's creepy for the caretaker to be having some family vacation time( not on that property) on one of the best bays on the island. fishing and enjoying camping with his family for a few days the he was going to finish the second Pavilion that was put up at the end of the property by the fire pit for extra shade and relaxation. Great View, not so great house.

I wasn't able to fit the whole complaint on one page, and this is the most important part.

Now on to more serious issues, ones that affect your health and safety. I already mentioned the rats running through the house, in the cabinets, stove, laundry area, and found droppings in the beds. No problem until you get bit. Safety: the smoke detectors were disabled and stored in the bookshelves, the bathrooms had no GFCI outlets, nor did the kitchen, and nothing in the main panel either.The owners are hoping that you will be so in love with the amazing view that you will do the maintence for them, because they haven't. BEWARE!

Owner's Response: Aloha, Owners are aware of people who want to get a refund by making complaints that are not always valid. The rats the guests were referring to were actually mice that seems to be a problem across the whole island.Just like if you lived in Alaska you may have bear droppings on your deck. We have a pest control company that comes out monthly for service. We have put 220 in the laundry room along with a new washer and dryer and we also replaced necessary outlets and the fire alarms are in working order and all they needed was new batteries. I will tell you if this house was a brand new house you would be paying thousands per night. Its not the Ritz Carlton but a 5 star locatipn plus. The house has everything you need plus a "Brand New" 2nd gazebo at the end of the property for extra shade and a great place for yoga or relaxinging or even a wedding. We have had Weddings and events (at a different price) with no complaints! Guests expressed just how much they loved the property and enjoyed their event or vacation. There is also a fire pit to roast marshmallows or just gaze at the stars with a glass of vino. We have 15 5 star reviews, you are not going to satisfy everyone. But it is a awesome LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION to make memories for your family forever. Mahalo to you and your Ohana!

Privacy, spacious yard, and an amazing view!

We had a great stay at this property. So there were a couple bad reviews in the past that made me hesitate for a couple of seconds before booking. I am glad we overlooked them and chose this home for our time in Kauai. We have been to Kauai before so I knew the awesomeness of Moloa'a Bay so I wanted to stay as close as possible. This property has to be the best one available to rent, if not the best place on the bay. The house sits above the water so you never see any of the few people who come to the beach below. We chose the property for our wedding ceremony and could not imagine a better spot on Kauai. Sure the house has a little room for improvement but we were never mislead in that aspect. The beds were comfortable and the house had all the amenities that our group needed. I go to Hawaii for the outdoor activities and the house provided for hours of time outside. The beach is only about a one minute walk but I chose to sit in the yard and look at the bay more often than walking to the beach. Maybe it was laziness or the cocktails were closer, but mostly I think I liked the view better! Great place to spend your vacation! We hope to be able to return to the property in a few years!

This is the property the pilot episodes was shot for ' Gilligan Island' We were told they put large leaves in front of the house to hide it when filming. They also left behind a anchor, could this of been from the the 3 hour tour that crashed on mooloa bay.

Regarding cancellations refunds can take up to 90 days. If cancelled 90 days or sooner to arrival date no refund if time is not rebooked. Or if the time cancelled is rebooked the refund will be sent out earlier. Regarding refunds only 50% of funds collected will be returned if rebooked. The 90 days does not apply to Holidays no refund sent until rebooked. . and . No refunds for a cleaning issues. Instead we will send out a cleaner. if you pay extra for an event while staying in our home that event fee is not refundable . When booking a event 100% of event fee paid at time of booking.   • 100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date.
