Located at 8,796' elevation in Angel Fire, New Mexico, this home is a beautiful mountain cabin ideal to rent for family vacations. It is big enough for a large group, yet it is cozy enough to also be used as an intimate retreat. It is a wilderness playground for elk and deer with an expansive incredible view of the valley and forest of trees behind it. The house sleeps up to 10+ people with 3 bedrooms plus it has a kids bunk/playroom that will sleep an additional 5+. The large deck has an expansive view of a greenbelt and the beautiful Southern Rockies. Elk and deer are commonly seen walking through the backyard at dawn and dusk. Our Angel Fire Lodge is located just 3 minutes from the base of the mountain and is less than 5 minutes to the golf course. Perfect for families - adults can entertain themselves on the main floor while the children have fun on the bottom 'Bunkroom' floor that has a TV & DVD player. Pets considered.
With a moto of, 'Happy Family,' we strive to raise our two young boys into happy and responsible young men. We split our time between Angel Fire, NM and Chico, TX.
Troy & Stephanie Kehoe purchased this lodge in 2013
We fell in love with Angel Fire, NM in the summer of 2013 and immediately began looking for a place to call home. Our Angel Fire Lodge is our home away from home and enjoy every season in the southern rocky mountains.
This home is truly 3 minutes away from Summer mountain biking, fishing, golf, and tennis or Winter skiing, snowboarding, etc. While it feels miles away from civilization, everything is less than 5 minutes away.
We had a a great time at Angel Fire. The home was great and had all the conveniences we needed. We had 14 people and your home was perfect.
Nice home with everything needed to settle in. Beautiful view with daily sightings of deer and elk. Enjoyed the deck when it wasn't raining. Minor complaint is that the road leading to the home and the driveway not in very good condition - kept the vehicle looking like we just finished mud racing.
WOW, the cabin was breath taking, and the view off the deck was stunning we got to see amazing wildlife
the cabin itself was wonderful plenty of room and all of the amenities you could ask for, it was far enough into the mountain to feel relaxed and away from everything but close enough to town to order pizza, and pick up grocery's without getting lost
I cant say enough about the Mr. and Mrs. Kehoe and the cabin,
Great People and wonderful experience, we are so happy that they allowed us to share in their little piece of heaven
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CABIN, for anyone looking to get away for a nice relaxing vacation, you wont find a better place
This home was great for our family of twelve. It is laid out well and the downstairs game room and bunk beds gave the grandgirls space of their own. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well supplied with equipment, and the view beautiful. An extra benefit was our evening guests. The deer came each evening and one venturesome buck grazed near the deck. The house is located near the market, restaurants, and activities. Based on other reviews, I was a bit nervous about the steep entrance and parking. I understand why that might be the case in winter, but for a summer visit it wasn't a problem. The Kehoe's were great to work with and quick to respond to all of our questions. The only suggestion I would make is to bring box fans. Like most mountain homes there is no air conditioning. Daytime temperatures are normally in the 70s or 80s, but our last day it was near 90. That said, night temperatures dropped into the 50s and I reached for the comforter to stay warm. I am fighting selfishness to tell you I highly recommend this home and will stay here again. The more people know about this place the harder it will be to schedule a trip.
Where to start....when we arrived we noticed we were secluded on the side of the mountain with a private view of almost no houses as well as a short 2 min drive to the restaurants, bars and store. The cabin itself was amazing! We had a fire 2 out of 3 nights there and it warmed the entire house (loved that as I am a florida girl ;)) Each morning we saw deer walk from the side of the cabin down to the lower slope of the hill, neat to sit on the porch and watch them feed. We will be back again, this place was amazing!!!
We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was in great shape & clean. The view from the deck was spectacular. We would definitely use this cabin again!
Our only snafu was the heat. We visited in mid-June. Being Texan, we are used to having some AC if it gets a little toasty inside. We completely understand that having air conditioning for this cabin would be used minimally considering where it is. However, my husband and I slept in the master bedroom on the third story. It was 80-81 degrees in our bedroom each night as we went to sleep. With windows open and ceiling fan running, it would cool down to 70 by morning, but trying to go to sleep at 81 degrees every night was tough for this Texas girl.
