Sea Shells - Renovated Oceanfront Townhome in newer part of Delaporte Point, Cable Beach, Nassau, Bahamas.

Our modern townhome is located within the private residential community of Delaporte Point. Enjoy the breathtaking views and the best picturesque sunsets over the Bahamian waters from our generous west facing patio. Delaporte Point is a unique peninsula surrounded by ocean, private beach at your doorstep and beautifully maintained gardens. There are two swimming pools with sun lounges and deck for your enjoyment.

The townhome has three (3) large bedrooms; two (2) bathrooms (including the master ensuite) and a separate powder room on the ground level. All bed linen (organic), bath and beach towels are provided plus beach chairs, sun umbrella and cooler for your enjoyment. Some of the best snorkelling and sea life surrounds us.

The residence is over 3 levels and is spacious and well appointed. On the first floor you will find the kitchen, powder room and open plan living room leading to the patio with sun lounges and seating/dining area. The second floor has two large bedrooms and a large bathroom and laundry. The master bedroom and ensuite is on the third floor. This spacious private suite includes a reading area with views of the ocean.

There is free internet, cable TV and a telephone for local calls - long distance phone cards are easily purchased from many stores throughout the island.

Delaporte Point is tranquil, removed from the hustle and bustle. The local #10 jitney bus stops right at the front gate every 10-15 minutes to take you to different parts of the island including downtown; ferry to Paradise Island/Atlantis; cruise ship dock; Cable Beach Casino and so on ... Restaurants, beaches, gym and grocery shopping are all at your doorstep, within 5-10 minute walking distance. If you would prefer you can hire a car and discover this island paradise at your leisure. Free designated parking areas (2) are provided for the unit. Detailed information sheets, tourism brochures and maps are provided.

Wonderful...

We had a wonderful week at your property, and can't wait to return. The location was great, and the property itself was clean, comfortable, and had incredible views. We loved the pools, beach and the local restaurants as well. Excellent!

Relaxing, Great Location, Very Well Furnished

  • 5 of 5

Peter is a great host. Leading up to our stay and during the reservation process he was very responsive and accommodating. The condo itself is beautiful. If you don't want to stay in a cramped hotel room this is the place to be. Its conveniently located, spacious and has all the amenities you need to be comfortably stay for a week or longer. The views from the living room and bedroom are spectacular. Just as you see in the pictures. The three bedrooms are all well-furnished and has all the linens you need. The kitchen, dining and living areas are very modern, stocked with everything you need. The TVs, BBQ grill, washer dryer, stove top, wine cooler, oven and microwave were all modern, clean and in good working condition. The condo is in a gated community in a good, safe area. It's about a 15-20 minute drive to downtown Nassau and about 10 minutes to the airport. Barbara was a great caretaker. She picked us up and dropped us of to the airport, and was always available when we needed her. She also provided us with a rental vehicle so we did not have to rent from a vehicle from a major rental company. Cost of living is expensive in the Bahamas. There are many good restaurants but they are not cheap. You'll easily spend $150-$200 for a family of 3-4. Eat at the Arawak Cay. The food is local and reasonably priced. Groceries stores are nearby but they are expensive as well. If you can carry food and even alcohol from the U.S. do that. No problem getting through customs. All in all, I would highly recommend renting the Sea Shells condo from Peter.

Beautiful property - AMAZING views but needs a GOOD cleaning and refresh

  • 3 of 5

Overall we really enjoyed our stay. The condo complex is well maintained and conveniently located. The pools were great fun for the kids and it was quiet so they could sleep at night and the complex is walking distance to grocery etc-very handy

This specific condo - lots of space, towels for beach/showers. The view of the sunsets is amazing. It was a safe, relatively comfortable place for us to eat & sleep. The BBQ worked well. There were sufficient plates/bowls but the plastic cups are cracked and need to be replaced and a few more wouldn't hurt.

There were some issues. The unit advertises a DVD player but the player had a European plug and no adapter. We informed Barb (manager) our first night and three nights later she brought another one by but that one was broken (smoked). The coffee maker was broken and I ended up having to use one from the cupboards that had a broken carafe (handle held on by duct tape) and mismatched basket and only turned off when unplugged. Again, we informed Barb and she said she'd buy another one but it didn't happen while we were there. The kitchen needs a deep clean - the layer of grease on the cook top and wall around it is disgusting and has bugs trapped in it. The water on the fridge was broken and the repairman didn't appear until 4 days into our stay and had to come back twice to confirm the part so we never used the water function on the fridge and had to purchase bottled water.

The couch in the living room had a broken seat and isn't designed for a large family - a design for a couple which considering the unit sleeps 6 doesn't make sense. Wifi is spotty at best and the repeater was broken which didn't help.

There was no broom - coming from the beach sand comes in and it would have been great to be able to sweep up. Additionally, there are live wires in the storage closet where the vacuum was stored and we discovered they were live when our oldest daughter got a shock. The next day I received a shock as well. Not exactly safe - especially when this is where so many items for use are stored.

The walls and stairs are well worn. A fresh coat of paint and a deep clean would make all the difference in appearance. Also - ability to CHANGE the temperature instead of just AC off/on would be nice. It was either hot or freezing.

Lastly - a sheet with instructions for the gate and other critical info would be great. We didn't get that info and a neighbour had to help us exit. Also, the clicker was lost

Never wanted to leave

  • 5 of 5

Peter's townhouse is beautiful. It offered everything - two pools, a beach to ourselves, the sound of waves hitting the rocks from our bedrooms and 2 balconies, walking distance to restaurants and bars, and an easy car ride to town. Our daughters range from age 10 - 23 - and all had anything they wanted right in front of them. It was wonderful to go in to town to walk around, swim with dolphins, eat dinner, and then come 'home' to our own nirvana. We watched the sunrise on the beach in front of our building with our coffee, and the sunset on our balcony with drinks. The apartment is filled with light, the kitchen had new appliances, and the washer and dryer were a godsend. Logistics were so easy; Barbara picked us up, acquainted us with our townhouse and the area, dropped us off at the airport, and provided us with a rental car when needed. We had her phone number and she was always able to be reached. We couldn't say goodbye to this home, so we settled on 'see you again very soon'.

Perfect for families

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful townhouse, located in a very safe feeling and well maintained gated complex is exactly as the photos show. The views overlooking the ocean are breathtaking (and are shared by the second floor master with balcony & the upper-most bedroom which is large enough that we had our three year old in her own bed in the room and still had plenty of space and an ensuite which was very convenient). The washer and dryer were good quality and worked well for washing beach towels daily. The bedding was clean, newer and soft. The kitchen was well appointed and modern. The air conditioning worked well and although there were 6 of us (3,32,33,50,51&75), we did not feel cramped. The beach was immediately across the lawn, and a slightly nicer beach just next to that (walk just out the gate and access from in front of the poop deck restaurant). The beach is clean and sheltered and great for swimming, for adults and children, even on windy days. The Jitneys (small busses) stop just outside the gate and we were able to get to the market, downtown etc. for $1.25, which was great. Groceries are a bit expensive, and if we were to go again, considering the washer and dryer, I would pack a bit more lightly and bring more food (and booze from the duty free IN Canada). There is a water and ice maker in the fridge attached to a large jug of bottled water. Also very convenient was how quick and smooth the airport process is (on the domestic & to Canada side anyway), and the fact that the condo is about 6 minutes from the airport... Much less of a hassle than the hours you can spend in other airports on top of a lengthy transfer to resort. The cab to the condo cost $15.. Don't let them convince you to stop at the grocery store though- they charged us an extra $60 for the 35 min stop.. Not worth it. It's less than 2km from the condo- walk or take a jitney! Barbara, the care taker is extremely friendly and helpful and easy to get ahold of. She will answer any questions you have and make sure you have what you need. There is a closet filled with easy to carry (and comfortable) beach chairs, toys and umbrellas as well as a small cooler to bring to the beach. The barbeque was not in usable condition (possibly partly due to the constant salt water corrosion), but considering how great the kitchen was, this really wasn't an inconvenience for us. Peter returned the deposit within a few days, which was nice. We will definitely be considering another vacation here!

A Beautiful Place to Stay With all the Bahamas Has to Offer and More!

  • 4 of 5

Delaporte Point is my favorite place to stay when visiting Nassau. We used to live in Nassau and come yearly to visit family. Two pools to choose from, snorkeling right off the dock, a pinkish sand beach with beautiful sunrises and sunsets. There really is no need to leave the property. There is a large grocery store close by, shopping in Cable beach, some live music in Sandyport with great restaurants. There is a mini straw market and the Daiquiri Shack near by as well with fresh fruit drinks for the whole family.

The Sea Shells unit is well stocked! Anything you can think of is in the kitchen, and a closet full of beach chairs, toys, umbrella, etc. We were very comfortable there, slept great and would definitely return. All rooms have beautiful views on both sides of the unit. We especially liked the ice maker that was connected to the filtered bottle of water. (only $4 to refill 5 gallons at grocery store). We always feel very safe at Delaporte Point and the children all roam between the pools and beaches without worry.

The owner is very easy to work with and responsive. We got our deposit back in a couple days even when he was on vacation himself! We enjoyed our stay here and hope you and your family enjoy yours as well! We would not hesitate to recommend this as a great place to stay while in Nassau. Having your own kitchen is a huge cost savings while on vacation with a large group.
