View was amazing, house was not prepared for 10 for 1 week

Overall, my experience in South Padre was marred by the lack of customer service by the owner. In previous reviews, there were some that complained that the kitchen did not have paper towels, there was no hot pads, no dish soap, no hand soap for the bathrooms or kitchen, and toliet paper was not in every bathroom--nor was there extra toliet paper if needed. The owner had posted that he wished that the renter brought this to his attention to fix. I thought he would have learned and not repeated the same indiscretions. The exact same thing happened to us. We had 10 people--6 kids and 4 adults. After a long day of driving, I had to turn around and go to grocery store to pick up these essential items for our stay. In addition, there were only 14 towels total at the house--for the pool, beach and showers for a family of 10! We had to do wash almost every day--We had to buy laundry detergent as well. The pots and pans that were there to cook with were completely gross and not usable. We tried to make pancakes one morning and every single batch was burned==no matter what we tried.

We had cockroaches in the house and a slew of ants outside by the pool. Cockroaches are understandable in Texas but they were even on the 2nd floor. I notified the owner on the day we go there--no response. Several other texts went without response. In the middle of the week, he called me and we talked. He promised to bring her 6 more towels and offered to reimburse me for the essentials I had to buy on the first day. The towels never came even after I had asked him again.

On the day of check out, he told us to be out by 9am even though the agreement said we could stay until 1100. He had another guest checking in at 1200 that day--clearly not enought time to get the house cleaned for next guest.

This whole thing could have been solved by reimbursing us for 1 night stay or somethign to that affect--gift card for supper for whole family. But he offered nothing but empty promises and told us to leave 2 hours before our contract told us we had to go. Reimbursing us for the essentials was not the point. He was told before in a previous review that this is something that is expected when you rent a house for a week. He chose to ignore these comments. The house was in dire need of upkeep as well. They state that they have a nice pool room but the cue sticks were not usable and there were missing the cue ball and the 9 ball.

My family and I absolutely loved the house and are counting the time until we return to south padre. The weather was pleasant and we were able lay out by the pool. Our son and daughter had a great time and there was plenty of space for all of us. The kitchen was fabulous and it was fun to cook in; there were two stoves, two sinks and it was just enjoyable to be in.

We highly recommend this house.

It is pure luxury.

Beautiful house worth the price

We stayed in South Padre a few weeks ago and now I am reading the reviews, which do not do the house justice. It is absolutely stunning, even more so than the picture gallery. It was beautifully decorated, with lots of leisurely space and comfort.

The only broken thing in the house was one of the four burners on the stovetop. We couldn't figure out the garage code and how to open the door into the house from the outside so we called Avi who carefully explained to us the instructions.

Beautiful home.

Beautiful home. We had a great time there. Avi was very nice and had us walk through the home to make sure it was to our satisfaction before he left. He answered all my questions I emailed him before coming in a very timely matter. I also received a call after we left thanking us for the way we left the home which I thought was very nice. The view from the home is breathtaking. Although it could use a little TLC for the price we paid it was wonderful. I would definitely go back. Thank you.

Loved location, loved size of house, was not clean and needs some serious TLC

The location of the house is perfect, having a pool was great but the heater needs to be fixed so it's more comfortable in the cooler months, the house was dirty. Half used bottles of shampoo and soap in the showers, sand in the shower floors, dishwasher was broken but they were having a new one installed on the day we left (knowing they had renters coming it would have been nice to had it installed prior to our arrival). It says it sleeps 10 but we had to carry mattresses from the garage to make enough beds to accommodate us. The baseboards are black and there is months of dust build up on the higher cabinet doors and they definitely need to buy a new dryer. It took hours to dry one simple load. With better cleaning, some welll needed repairs, patio furniture, maybe adding 2 bunk beds to one room and a larger TV in the living room as well as more bath and kitchen towels this would be a really great place to rent. I would consider it again if they would make the repairs. I would also recommend they add or fix the under water green lights at the dock to make night fishing more fun for the families.

Lovely vacation home

The house is very large and beautiful and much better than in the photos. We enjoyed it immensely, especially the backyard on the waterfront and the pool. The rooms are very colorful and each room has a private bathroom. The house was very clean and pleasant.

One burner didn't work on the stove and when we had a problem with the garage code, a man named Avi who was very nice came and showed us how to use it.

Apart from the minor details, this house is an excellent vacation home .
