Dirty house, furniture throwvout, pans replace, th

  • 2 of 5

The veiw was spectacular, but but the house was dirty, the pics on the website are from 2007, the furniture is old and dirty, my husband sat on a recliner and almost fell out, the leather furniture upstairs is filthy, the futon matress is covered with stains, the wooden banister I scrubbed cause it was so nasty, the wood floors in the kitchen made my feet and everyone else feet black, the tub in the basement had a mildew show curtain and dust in the tub, the cellar was too cold for some guest c with no extra blankets, the screen in the first floor bedroom was ripped and the shade was falling apart, the pans were so scratched and nasty . I couldn't make breakfast in the am, the money I spent on this hose was way too much, if I knew it was a college renter maybe I would've thought twice, there's no excuse for the owner, this house needs a crew to go in there and clean, and replace the old matreeses!!!

Owner's Response: I just saw this review (weeks later) as the renters had given me no heads up when they were there to remedy what they perceived to be less-than-satisfactory during their visit. Had they contacted me, I could have quickly and easily fixed all issues they complained about in this review. We have a great cleaning crew and I stand by them. If they didn't clean the wood floor to-satisfaction or the mildew off the bottom of the shower curtain in the lower bath, I would have gladly come and repeated the cleaning myself. Again, I was given no heads up about this at all. The bannister was clean..the varnish just gets a tacky feel to it in the extreme sun due to all of the windows in the area leading upstairs. We inspect all kitchenwares in June, so if we do have frying pans that are scratched then they were scratched recently and will be replaced immediately this week as-needed. If the downstairs was too cool to sleep, we did have an extra comforter in the main bedroom closet, OR the occupants of the lower level could simply turn off the fans and a/c down there. The screen which was ripped was caught during our inspection on Saturday and was replaced during their visit; not sure why they didn't mention this. In closing, I'm certainly more aware of these issues going forward but strongly feel like if I had been given the opportunity to remedy these items at the time (however small) I would have done so in an expeditious fashion. I have to say that in the thirteen summers we have been renting this house, it is extremely rare that we have a group that doesn't communicate with us if they have an issue, resulting in their dissatisfaction. This is unfortunately for me not the case here, but I will always strive to make your experience the best it can be! KM

Great beach house!

  • 5 of 5

I grew up spending summers at my family's beach house in Bonnet Shores, and now my husband and I travel from CA and rent a house there every June. We really enjoyed our first stay at this house. It's a great house for entertaining or for a big group to stay with 4 bedrooms, 3 full baths and large common areas.

The views are spectacular (big deck on the main floor, lots of windows in the back of the house on every level and in the huge master bedroom and family room on the top floor), the location is perfect (quick walk to the beach), and the owner Ken is so nice and accommodating (we were welcomed with a bottle of wine which was really nice). We look forward to returning next summer!

Fantastic Beach Home

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful 3 week stay at Ken's home in Bonnet Shores last summer; The large deck has a spectacular view of the beach and ocean and the house is a quick 3 minute walk to Kelly Beach. The kitchen is quite large and with 4 bedrooms we easily had room for nine people. Our only regret is that we only have time for a one week stay this coming summer. Dave C

Love this House!!!

  • 5 of 5

We love this house!. We were first welcomed with a bottle of wine which was a wonderful surprise. 5 adults and 4 children occupied this house and it was more than enough room for all of us. We loved the 5 min walk to the beach and the amazing deck overlooking Bonnet Shores Beach. The children loved the cliff walk down the street as well. We enjoyed our visit so much that we rebooked for next year. We can't wait !!!

Look no further, this is it!

  • 5 of 5

This is our 6th summer back to this property and we never looked back.

This is the best spot in Narragansett...we know...we've rented other

places in the vicinity in the past. It is a tradition for my family to

meet my sister's family every summer for a week and this beach house is

the perfect rendezvous. The large common areas found in the home make

gatherings simple and enjoyable and with three full bathrooms, no one

ever has to wait! The bay windows and super-sized deck in the back

offer beautiful views of Kelly Beach and Narragansett Bay. So beautiful

that it's tough to leave for the beach some days and the sunsets over

the water are truly amazing too! The homeowner makes sure everything is

clean for us upon arrival and that we have every ammenity at our

disposal. If you are looking for a great family vacation at the perfect

private beach, you found it!
