Fantastic 1BR apartment located in the South Clintonville/North University District area, minutes from OSU or downtown. It is on the ground floor of a lovely 1926 4-unit brick building. It's beautifully furnished and is ideal for a single or couple who are visiting or relocating to Columbus.
The apartment has hardwood floors, wood panel doors, double-hung windows with storm windows and screens, and it has the original 1926 bath and kitchen fixtures. The kitchen has a full-sized gas stove, a small built-in microwave, a dark wood countertop, a hidden drop-down breakfast table, and a hidden drop-down ironing board. It is equipped with everything you need (toaster, coffee maker, plates, glasses, cups, pots, pans, silverware, and an assortment of utensils) to cook any sort of meal. The adjoining hall space functions as a continuation of the kitchen and contains a full-sized refrigerator, a narrow hutch, and a utility/pantry closet. Linens are provided for the bedroom, the bath, and the kitchen, with extras stored inside the utility closet.
The bedroom has a queen-sized bed, and the bathroom has single-handle shower and lavatory faucets. The living room has a decorative fireplace and a 40' Smart TV. There is an elegant formal dining room with a small antique desk and wireless internet service for your laptop.
The apartment temperature is always comfortable thanks to the presence of a thermostat in the Dining Room that allows you to control the heat and AC settings, and thanks to the ceiling fans in both the Living Room and the Bedroom.
Guests will have one designated parking space at the back of the apartment in a carport/garage structure. This structure is somewhat small and will accommodate most cars as long as you pull in straight and not at an angle. If your car is particularly large, there is alternate parking available on Indianola Avenue about 1/4 lock north of the apartment. There is a private entry to the apartment from the back.. A washer and dryer are available in the basement of the building.
I live about a block from this apartment and am available to solve any problems pretty quickly. I have recently retired from my job at OSU.
This is a wonderful vibrant neighborhood with a mix of rental units and private residences. There is a ravine park within easy walking distance and an assortment of shops and restaurants on Indianola. It's a quick drive to High Street and its many shops (including a Giant Eagle supermarket and a CVS Pharmacy), and access to either the I-71 or the 315 freeway is quite close.
A city bus line runs in front of the apartment. It travels primarily south and north and will easily get you to downtown or to Worthington, with transfers available to other directions. An OSU bus line runs just south of the apartment with a stop 3 blocks away at Clinton and Indianola.
Minimum rental period is three nights at $90/night. Maximum occupancy is two persons. Under special circumstances, it can accommodate a 3rd person for an extra $20/night fee. Longer rentals of 3 months or more welcome at reduced rate. This is a non-smoking apartment, and no pets are allowed. It is not suitable for children under the age of 12.
Possibly the best rental experience we have ever had through VRBO. Nothing else I can add except that we travel frequently to Columbus and this will be our first pick!
We were happy with the apartment and it's location in the great Clintonville neighborhood in Columbus. It was very clean and quiet. Nancy, the owner, was very helpful and gave us all the information we needed to enjoy our stay in this apartment...one in a four-unit building.The mattress was a little soft for us but comfortable enough no one lost any sleep over it. It did seem that the Wifi could only handle one user at a time.
We would stay here again with the hope that internet access (bandwidth I assume) might improve some.

The apartment was very nice. Even though the building was built in the 1920s it was charming. The garage is very small and you need to have a
small car. We had a Toyota Corolla and we had to do some maneuvering to get it into the garage but we managed. Nancy is very nice and will help you in any way that she can. There is a Dairy Queen right across the street which my wife and I and my grandchildren thought was great.
We would definitely stay there again when we were in the Columbus area. There is no television in the bedroom but oh well. Nice smart TV in the living room.

I had a three night stay at charming 1BR in Clintonville.
I might add 1 BR, with Full Dining Room, Living room and Kitchen.
The kitchen is very nicely appointed with appliances and utensils.
The unit is clean and the linens are plush and plentiful.
I am familiar with the neighborhood and it is NOT SCARY, it is in "transition",
but the nieghborhood has been in transition for 30+ years.
The owner is easy to work with and flexible with reasonable needs.
I would definitely return if I was in Columbus.
My husband and I loved this apartment and had a great experience! The apartment has so much charm - from its beautiful wood trim, to kitchen table and ironing board hidden in the wall, to bunk beds built into an old cedar closet (great for kids and Harry Potter fans). The owner was so easy to work with and keeps the apartment stocked with all the basics needed to cook simple meals. There is a supermarket right down the street where we were able to pick up everything we needed. While in Columbus, we visited Short North, the zoo, the conservatory, and the art museum; we never had to drive more than 20 minutes. Thank you!
My wife and I were in Columbus for a conference and did not want to rent a car. Nancy's apartment is located directly on a bus line which saved us so much money from avoided rental and parking fees. It is a full apartment with a living room (smart tv), separate dining room, bedroom and kitchen. Plenty of room....it almost felt like home as we arrived at the end of each day. Nice to be able to cook. Grocery store a 6 block walk away. Free laundry as well! Recommended.
