My husband and I stayed here for a few nights on our honeymoon and it was beautiful! It is an older building and some of the dishes were a bit dirty, but it had the perfect amount of space and incredible views of the beach from both upstairs and downstairs. Very close to a lot of restaurants and a very cool surf town, and it was great to have a parking spot for our rental car. Would definitely recommend!
Great location and view
While there are a few bits that can be upgraded/fixed, we had a great time and would recommend the spot. Location is perfect, the vibe of the town is great, the view beats it all...and also very safe.
Nice location and Mark was very helpful.
We loved waking up to the sounds of the waves.
Perfect Coastal Location
Staying at the Navigator's Nook in Concon was a perfect location to enjoy local beach and surrounding areas. The view overlooking the beach, close proximity to other beaches, Valparaiso, Vina del Mar and short walking distance into town was ideal. The owner, Mark was there to greet us with info for local places to shop and other sights nearby. It was a great place to stay as our first stop in Chile!
Beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean
If you're looking for a perfect place to enjoy the Chilean coast, The Navigator's Nook is a great choice. Mark and Pamela were delightful hosts, helpful in every way. We loved looking out over the sea whether it was from the first or second floor balconies. The sound of the waves were the perfect way to start and end the day. It is well located, just a short walk down the hill and you're on the beach. Grocery stores were nearby, the local market sells delicious local fruits and vegetables. We visited the Case Blanca and Aconcagua wine valleys, which were about one to two hours away by car. Shower had plenty of hot water, the bed was firm, the kitchen had gas stove and roomy refrigerator. Highly recommended.
Great view and location in a beautiful seaside town!
We thoroughly enjoyed our five night stay at the Nook. The view from every room, window and deck is outstanding! My wife and I were looking for a quiet spot to relax after travelling in South America for two months, and this place was perfect. We could relax on the decks and watch the surfers and the beach, and yet Concon is just around the corner from a spectacular 45 minute local bus ride along the Pacific to both Vina deal Mar and Valparaiso that costs less than $2 per person.
Nice restaurants and friendly people.
Mark and Pamela were very helpful, particularly in taking care of a few issues on our arrival (the coffee maker and the hot water initially didn't work - but they were immediately replaced or repaired), and in orienting us to Concon.
The Nook's location is unbeatable, on the cliff right above the south end of the beach, with an uninterrupted view. There is a farmers market about ten minutes away that is open on Wednesday and Saturday, a supermarket, panateria and everything else available within a ten minute walk.
The only thing that makes this a four star rather than a five star rating is that the place could use a bit of TLC. The faucets are loose and hard to turn off, some of the lights were burned out, some of the kitchen cupboards were loose on their hinges, and things like the Venetian blinds were pretty dusty, but for us these didn't offset our enjoyment of this great little hideaway!
We loved it and would definitely recommend it for people who want to chill in a beautiful Chilean beachside town?
Con Con meaning Water Water in the indigenous language is bordered by the Pacific Ocean and the Aconcagua River. The apartments are located in Old Con Con which is the more bohemian area with small businesses and restaurants located through out the neighborhood.
The closest beach is named La Boca because the north end of the beach is the mouth of the Aconcagua River. The neighborhood next to the beach and river also called La Boca. This area is famous for it's Empanadas with many locals offering many varieties. There are also numerous restaurants offering a variety of food. Small markets with fresh fruit and fish available.
Two blocks away there is a beautiful square (park) with numerous trees, grassy areas and some play structures. Further up at Calle Santa Margarita is another area with small markets selling fresh bread (Carmensita) and fruit stands. The local farmers market takes place on Wednesday and Saturday mornings at the far end of Calle Siete.
Other Activities: Surfing, Shopping, Kayaking Boating, Shelling, Birding.
