My charming log cabin sits on 100 acres of private land which adjoins 2200 of New York State Forest. It overlooks a small pond which is stocked with bass. You are welcome to catch a few and cook them fresh on the Weber gas grill. The front porch is comfortable with beautiful views of the pond, hills and the valley below.
It is a cozy cabin with a sleeping loft and comes with a fully equipped kitchen and a shower bath. The loft has a double bed and the first floor has a double futon.
Bring your bicycles in the summer or your cross country skis or snowshoes in the winter or your hiking boots year round, as the stare forest is full of groomed trails. Or bring your books and just relax and enjoy your surroundings.
We are only 12 minutes from Ellicottville, New York which is a quaint little ski and resort town. You can ski in the winter or golf in the summer. There are world class restaurants for fine dining and wonderful shopping.
It is the perfect place for solitude or a romantic getaway. I hope you will come and enjoy this special place on Golden Hill!!

Very cozy and relaxing! Bette was helpful and welcoming the entire time! Can't wait for my next stay when I need to disconnect!
We just love this sweet little cabin. Its such a wonderful place to unplug and just enjoy the peacefulness . This cabin is so quiet and calm , setting on the porch watching the sun rise over the pond is so beautiful . The cabin has everything you will need for a comfortable stay . we will be back ! Thank You Bette.
My wife and I have rented this property over the past four years, and have never been disappointed. We always rent it over the weekend. The first time we arrived, it was evening and dark outside and we were completely amazed when we saw the pond in the morning. Since then, we've enjoyed the cabin and its amenities each time we've been there. The cabin has everything you'll need, such as a fridge, silverware, microwave, cups, dishes, coffee maker, shower, games, TV, DVR player, etc. The cabin is very clean, and more than enough towels were left for us to shower. The first night there, we usually play a game of Trivial Pursuit, have snacky-type food, and just enjoy the cabin! On Saturday, we spend part of the day at the cabin, either reading, napping or being outside. This was the first year that I used the pond for bass fishing. I had what seemed like a large fish that broke my line and got away! We always take the short ride and head into Ellicottville late Saturday afternoon to do some shopping, eat dinner, and enjoy the great beer at Ellicottville Brewing Company. If you're looking for the perfect getaway, this is it! The owner, Bette, is very friendly, and we usually like to stop by her house and tell her how much we enjoy the cabin. I have recommended the cabin to many people since we've been renting it, and we plan on returning for our fifth year next fall!
Great location for a wonderful bit of solitude. Small, quaint, very well appointed log cabin. Well off the beaten path. Next to state forest land on one side, working farms on the other (you couldn't see them, but you could hear them). Nighttime was fantastic - literally couldn't see your hand in front of your face. Just sitting outside and watching the stars is something I haven't experienced in a long time. I'll definitely keep this place on my list of places to return to.
The cabin was cute, cozy and secluded enough to give me the peace and quiet I was looking for while also being close enough to "civilization" to get things I needed.
I especially appreciated that I could bring my dog. Traveling with a dog certainly limits your options, but this place was 100 percent perfect for us!
The location of the cabin is definitely picturesque. It is quiet and peaceful. We were visited by deer and a hummingbird during while enjoying coffee on a cool morning while the sun was burning off the fog. The property was fairly well maintained. I would caution that the stairs leading to the loft is actually a metal spiral staircase. Because it is a true loft, at the top of the stair case, you cannot stand up straight until you reach the middle of the of the loft. If you have any physical limitations, you will need to sleep downstairs. (I am a fairly young, and very active individual, and I was very uncomfortable navigating the staircase.) There are two couches, one with a pull out mattress.
The cabin was fully stocked with necessary items - pots, pans, silverware, coffee pot, sheets, towels, etc. If planning to grill, I would recommend bringing your own grill and grilling utensils. There are two grills provided, one gas, one charcoal. The grates on the gas grill are rusty and frail and the side platform is melted off. The charcoal grill is missing a wheel, making it unbalanced, and difficult to use.
The owner and the property manager were both lovely to work with. They were very responsive. Due to the limitations stated above, we were only able to stay one night. Although a credit wasn't offered, Bette was very apologetic.
I would recommend this property - just be mindful that it is bascially camping. If you are looking for a rustic environment to truly escape the chaos, and want to "rough it", (but not too much), this will likely the perfect place for you.
