Beautiful House & Beautiful Property
We stayed for 10 days and throughly enjoyed our visit. The house was perfect and close to so many fun places to see - Universal Studios, Sony and Warner Bros Studios Lakers Stadium and Sunset Blvd. Michael and Daphne were wonderful hosts and were very helpful with any questions we had. Everything was so great and will be very memorable for our visit to LA! 5 stars!
We enjoyed hosting Michaelanne and her family. They all are such nice people and left Hesby House in excellent condition - welcome back anytoime!
We had an amazing time at this beautiful, comfortable house!
The owners could not have been more helpful, from the concise instructions for house items to pointers on fantastic local places. The house is very charming, quiet, and comfy with great wireless, TVs and a relaxing hot tub as part of the pool. Lemons, oranges and grapefruit trees for daily fruit. Easy access to most anything in LA. We totally enjoyed our stay and were sad to go!
Wow..what a beautiful, tranquil home. Everything about this home is a 10. We stayed here for our daughters wedding nearby. The location is very centralized and the freeways are easily accessible. Plenty of grocery stores and restaurants are everywhere nearby. The neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful. You certainly won't be dissapointed. The owners are awesome and very ready to communicate with should you have any questions.
We so loved our stay at the Hesby house... It was absolutely a lovely property, great owners, convenient access to resources and highways and on and on. What a joy to be able to have this amazing comfort during a long weekend while we browsed the city and started out families college visit tours!!!
I would highly recommend this for couples, family and all.
Thx so much!!!
It was perfectly lovely. Clean with beautiful linens and lovely details. The yard was gorgeous.
We loved our stay at this charming, vintage cottage. Everything was clean and orderly. The pool and spa were delightful and relaxing. The kitchen had everything we needed. Thank you to our gracious hosts. It was so nice.
This house and property have an old fashioned charm.
Despite the charm, however, this property has many bugs. I killed at least one variety of spider per day, a centipede crawled out of the master bathroom drain, we were invaded by crickets on our last night, and a moth and stink bug. When swimming in the pool, there were many bees and a few wasps which dove for me. Some were floating dead in the pool along with avocados from the tree above. At night in the hot tub we were visited by a young opossum. Aside from all of this, checkout was at noon and we were being texted at 11 asking, in essence, if we were just about out because cleaning people were coming and it was being rented the next day. Our shuttle was coming to the house in the evening for a late flight so we asked if we could leave for the day (with our luggage) and return in the evening and sit on the porch to wait for the shuttle. It was made very clear that we could not. The house was charming but not sure if it was worth all of this.
We found Fran and her daughter to be pleasant guests who, in person, raved about Hesby House highly and frequently.
What they experienced here was the same current, eclectic style and comfort that's made our home the choice for location shoots with Apple, HGTV, The Bachelor and many other TV shows and commercials. We're also proud that visitors from all over the world have never had any issue with Hebsy House, giving us 5-star reviews.
For those who read her review and wonder "OMG! Is this an insect Armageddon?" please know that Los Angeles co-exists with nature quite comfortably and without issue.
Which means while Hesby House does not have infestations of the kind of insects that travelers, or us, find disconcerting (mosquitoes, fleas, bedbugs cockroaches, etc.) you may experience an occasional harmless bug, such as a daddy long legs or a Jiminy Cricket.
It's true that bees do exist in Los Angeles, and while they generally keep to themselves buzzing about the flowers and have no interest in people swimming, they also contribute to our state's robust produce industry. We swim daily when we have no guests and never have had experienced, or have been stung, by crazed kamikaze dive-bomber bees.
We have tried asking our avocado tree to not drop its fruit into the pool it overhangs, but - alas - it has been here longer than us and seems to think that its fruit more than compensates for the occasional floater it sends downward.
That said, if you have entomophobia issues, we would recommend considering visiting a more sterile environment; say, Antartica.
It should be noted that our guests requested an early check-in which we happily accommodated.
Four days before their departure, we were asked if they could check-out at 6 pm! We explained our that our upcoming arrival of guests would be later the same - not the next - day.
We always try in every way to be flexible about arrivals/departures. Although the clearly published check-out time is 11 am, we told them that the cleaners were scheduled for 12 and they were welcome to stay until then.
In consideration of their late flight, we also researched and provided a great way to spend the remaining day, with an itinerary of spa treatments and restaurant suggestions in Beverly Hills that would lead up to a relaxed journey back to Ohio.
We wish the best for Fran in future travels and hope the places she chooses meets her expectations!
Valley Village is an enclave centered between Studio City, Sherman Oaks and Burbank that is perfectly located for everything Los Angeles has to offer.
Established in 1939, it is now home to musicians, film makers, actors and writers who are drawn to the quiet streets, charming homes, easy access to studios, the shopping and restaurants along Ventura Boulevard and the ability to become lost in nature on the trails in the Santa Monica Mountains that are just minutes to the south.
This is the perfect location for going to different parts of Los Angeles: the freeways to downtown, the beaches and other attractions are close by. And the canyon roads - famed Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Coldwater Canyon - offer a beautiful way of getting to Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Santa Monica.
