About Susana Connors Escobido
I am a single woman. I found Chacala and knew it would be my heart home. I saw it as a refurge for myself and those that needed a tranquil place to renew. I love my small village. I am involved with my community: education, art and music. I walk my dogs, do Tai Chi and yoga almost daily.
Susana Connors Escobido purchased this Bungalow in 2000
Why Susana Connors Escobido chose Chacala
I found my lot with the help of a man and a machete. It was love at first sight. I knew that what was calling to me would be the same for my guests. They often arrive tired, stressed, cold, unhealthy. Each day I see them rejuvenate more and more. Maybe it is the magic of my rooftop or the gardens or the surrounding jungle.
What makes this Bungalow unique
Breakfast on the rooftop, the Mauna Kea Cafe. Villagers, guests, ex-pats come to join in the magic of sharing breakfast while overlooking the bay. Watching the birds, the whales, the waves, the jungle. Climbing the stairs for the first time, takes ones breath away.

Casa Pacifica is the hub of activity in Chacala!
What can we say about Casa Pacifica? It's going to sound like we must be exaggerating, and we're not! We have been coming to Chacala about every three to four years for almost twenty years, usually by boat. This is only the second time we have come by land. The Casa Pacifica website was clear, concise and easy to use. We have stayed in two different rooms during our visit. Both are beautifully appointed and well maintained.
One of the nicest features of Casa Pacifica is the breakfast. Not only is the food delicious, the cooks, Chabela and Bertha, are friendly and outgoing. The server, and Susana's right hand man, Juan Pedro is bilingual and always helpful. He took us to a local dentist and translated the procedures. As a sidebar, the dentists in the area are excellent and the cost is about 10 percent of the charges in the U.S.
At breakfast we met a variety of fascinating people. Susana keeps track of all the activities in and around Chacala.
There just are enough positives to describe our stay! We'll be back!
