Sunwatch villa is nestled within two acres of landscaped gardens on a ridge directly overlooking Barbados’ west coast and the Caribbean sea. Local architects Gillespie and Steel designed this villa to emphasize the natural features of the geography and to take advantage of the cooling trade winds. Fully staffed and with membership privileges at Sugar Hill and Royal Pavilion Hotel Beach Club, Sunwatch makes for a complete Barbados destination retreat.
Guests enter the villa via a wooden bridge across a lily pond. Outdoors, guests find a stunning fifteen meter freeform infinity edge pool (with slide to the lower pool), as well as a Jacuzzi, a gazebo with bar and informal dining space, and a built-in barbeque. Below the pool deck is a kids “chattel” playhouse, complete with table football. There are also a table tennis table, basketball net and darts available.
The main living area boasts double height vaulted ceilings and opens onto an expansive covered terrace. Off the living area is the bedroom wing on one side and the bar servery, kitchen and dining terrace on the other side. The bedroom wing comprises two master bedroom suites, with dressing areas, and two twin bedrooms, also with en-suite baths.The large den is complete with en-suite steam shower and private patio and there is also a separate study/library.
For larger groups, a detached two bedroom cottage offers a kitchenette, shower bathroom, accomodations for four guests, and may be rented with the main house.
Guests of Sunwatch Villa enjoy access to on-site amenities at Sugar Hill Resort, including a clubhouse with a large pool, a restaurant, a gym, tennis and members lounge. Guests further enjoy membership at the Fairmont Royal Pavillion Beach Club, and have use of the private facilities which offer sun beds, restaurant/beach bar and water sports.
