Adirondack style log home - brand new built in 2013, and located on the Ausable River with mountain views of Whiteface! Come enjoy the Adirondacks based out of this perfect log home with rustic charm, views, and peacefulness, located a minute away from Wilmington town center and 5 minutes away from Whiteface Mt Olympic ski area!

The log home is 1400 sq. ft , complete with beautiful, real, round log exterior walls, cedar and pine ceilings, hardwood floors, and large log beams, with a huge 12'x24' ft exterior deck overlooking the Ausable River, and a master bedroom balcony over cedar logs, with direct views of Whiteface Mt and the Wilmingon Range. Just built in the fall of 2013, this brand new home was lovingly built by life-long Adirondack resident and owner and Johnathan Esper, with meticulous attention to log design born from the owner's fond memories of growing up in a log home. The log house is built almost over the Ausable River, set amid some towering white pines on the steep river bank, at the end of a 300ft driveway with the neighbors' houses set well away along the roadside frontage. The sounds of the West Branch of the Ausable River, or the wind through the pines from atop the cedar balcony, are the only thing one hears from the house, despite being located most conveniently only 30 seconds to the center of the small town of Wilmington and it's various shops. Exterior sofit lights cast spellbinding shadow patterns of the round log textures and cedar shake gables, making twilight a wonderful time to come home.

The first floor of the house follows an open floor plan concept with kitchen, dining, and living rooms, plus a full bath and laundry room and bedroom with queen bed. Enjoy the cozy gas fireplace with real flames, while looking out the window toward the Wilmington Range. Radiant in-floor heating throughout the house also provides warmth and coziness, and in the hotter summer months, the natural thermal properties of logs keep the house cool, along with french bi-fold doors opening onto the deck for fresh air. The kitchen is fully equipped for you to make lovely meals if you so wish, with brand new stainless-steel appliances. Upstairs is the master suite area including loft and bath. The bedroom featuring a walkout balcony accessed via french doors, and mountain views from the queen size bed. The upstairs bathroom is entirely of slate tile and red cedar, with a large jacuzzi hot-tub, glass shower, and dual flush European style toilet. There is a large loft area, which can enjoyed as a lounging area for the master suite, or desk working area, or kids sleeping area with a comfy new futon that can lay out flat for children.

This charming log chalet-style home is the perfect size for a week or weekend getaway to the Adirondack Mountains, and you'll feel you're in the Adirondacks whether at this home, or out enjoying the Adirondack region. The world class town of Lake Placid is just 15 minutes away, with fine dining and shopping, and it's the heart of the Adirondack High Peaks with the best access for hiking. Keene Valley, a hiker's destination, is also just 15 minutes away. And of course, Whiteface Mt ski area is just up the road 5 minutes away. The Ausable River is world famous for its fly fishing, and you can even enjoy your private fishing area on the bank in front of your vacation home. Wilmington is really located in a great area of the Adirondacks - it's the ski and mountain biking capital of the Adirondacks, and 15 minutes away from the best hiking in New York State.

Exterior of the house features a huge deck, with Adirondack cedar chairs, overlooking the Ausable River, A BBQ grill for your use, canoes/kayaks for guests use on nearby ponds (must sign special clause section in house rental agreement), and a firepit with plenty of Free Firewood to burn! (always keep your fire under control, not too big, and never leave unattended).

In this charming Adirondack log home I helped build, I incorporated as many logs and Adirondack rustic styled elements as I could, recalling with fondness my family's log house I grew up in. My family had an amazing time on first adventure to this area and the log cabin experience added a lovely touch. We truly enjoyed this gorgeous home and the woodwork details inside. There was plenty of room for us, we were 2 adults and 2 kids. Our kids enjoyed the Futon upstairs for sleeping close by to us. Of course there is a TV there as well so that was nice for down time before sleep. The views were just amazing as well. Only negatives were heat took a while to get up to temperature, but that is being addressed. The driveway was very icy and a bit hazardous so be careful. I also did not care for the boulder that was used as a step to enter the home. I think this could be dangerous for certain people or children as well. Overall a lovely place though, well thought out and clean. Would definately consider staying there again next year

Beautiful home with beautiful views! All the wood throughout gives you the true cabin experience

We had a very relaxing and peaceful week. The fireplace downstairs was great and I loved the jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. The home is close to lake placid and we drove into town easily. We took our dogs on nearby hikes and they loved it too. Overall, we had a great week and would definitely come back!

Had the most PERFECT honeymoon getaway here

I absolutely LOVED our stay! Although we only spent the weekend there, we already felt at home. The house is super cozy, relaxing, clean, organized, located close to many hiking trails, restaurants, and has an AMAZING view of the mountains. Me and my husband spent our honeymoon there and it was the perfect getaway. Coming in from NYC, Wilmington felt like another world. This was a short trip but it was definitely a special one. Thank you so much. Johnathan for sharing your home with us! We would highly recommend and will definitely be coming back again soon. :)

Beautiful cabin with wonderful views, very cozy and relaxing!

We both had a wonderful time at your lovely cabin, it was clean, well appointed and the perfect getaway. The cabin is close enough to zip into Lake Placid for a meal or shopping but secluded enough to feel like your away from it all. Our favorite restaurant is The Cottage located right on Mirror Lake, feels like you are sitting right on the water. We will be back in the future. Thanks so much!

Perfect Adirondack Cabin

We couldn't have hoped for a better cabin to enjoy a mid-winter break. Johnathon has built and furnished a very special retreat located quietly back from a secondary road on the bank of the Ausable River. Very well equipped, clean, well maintained, and stocked with basic provisions Johnathon's cabin very quickly felt like home. We enjoyed a fabulous week and would highly recommend this cabin to anyone exploring the Adirondacks and particularly to those heading to Whiteface for skiing.
