Retired

We love spending time with the family, traveling, and meeting new people.

Home is where our heart is!

Ron & Nancy Boyer purchased this chateau / country house in 2001

Why Ron & Nancy Boyer chose Berks County

My fondest childhood memories were spending weekends and school vacations with my grandparents here at the Loos Homestead. It's a wonderful place for children to explore and grownups to relax. August 2015 marked the 250th anniversary of the homestead,

What makes this chateau / country house unique

The homestead still has the original hardwood floors and hand cut beams, molding, deep 18 inch windowsills and pegs on the wall where ancestors hung their clothes. Lot's of love and care have gone into refurbishing the homestead without compromising it's integrity. A beautiful view may be experienced from any window. Wildlife, such as deer, fox, and eagles can be seen on any given day. We love to sit on the porch with a cup of coffee and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Another great stay

  • 5 of 5

This is my second stay at this gorgeous property, and I am very picky, so that alone should tell you how great the property is. The owners are also extraordinarily friendly, accommodating, and kind. I also think that the value you get here for your $ is second to none. If you are on the fence about staying here, don't be. You won't regret booking, and you'll have a memorable stay in a beautiful location.

Awesome!

  • 5 of 5

This was a gorgeous historical homestead immaculately maintained, furnished with antiques, yet updated with all the comforts of home! We loved the quiet, rural setting of the rolling hills and enjoyed seeing fox, deer, heron, and all sorts of bird varieties in the backyard. We especially liked spending time on the porch just enjoying the scenery though took advantage of all sorts of things to do in the area as well.

Ron & Nancy treated us more like family rather than customers; we felt right at home. They were willing to help us in anyway needed. Providing the first morning's breakfast items (including homemade) was a special treat. We definitely want to come back to here!
