About Ron & Nancy Boyer

Born and raised in Berks County.

Met on a blind date. Married 44 years and have 5 children and 4 grandchildren.

Retired

We love spending time with the family, traveling, and meeting new people.

Though we've traveled through the US and abroad, we always love coming home.

Home is where our heart is!

Ron & Nancy Boyer purchased this chateau / country house in 2001

Why Ron & Nancy Boyer chose Berks County

My fondest childhood memories were spending weekends and school vacations with my grandparents here at the Loos Homestead. It's a wonderful place for children to explore and grownups to relax. August 2015 marked the 250th anniversary of the homestead,

What makes this chateau / country house unique

The homestead still has the original hardwood floors and hand cut beams, molding, deep 18 inch windowsills and pegs on the wall where ancestors hung their clothes. Lot's of love and care have gone into refurbishing the homestead without compromising it's integrity. A beautiful view may be experienced from any window. Wildlife, such as deer, fox, and eagles can be seen on any given day. We love to sit on the porch with a cup of coffee and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Lovely, Lovely, Lovely!

  • 5 of 5

I cannot say enough about this property. The accommodations are superb and Nancy is extremely gracious. This is a private 2 bedroom (with extra bedroom as an option) apartment in a historic, very well maintained home - with a very private entrance. You never feel too close to the owners but they are there if you need them.

In Washington DC, New York or Philadelphia this accommodation would be much, much more. Everything is provided (linens, towels, WiFi and a full breakfast in the Fridge-eggs, sausage, OJ and cold cereal if you would like). We had enough goodies, including Nancy's delicious homemade Pumpkin Bread and Grape Jam for 2 full breakfasts.

There is a wonderful outdoor porch with a great view of a small pond if you enjoy eating outside. I highly recommend this vacation rental.

Staying here made our vacation!

  • 5 of 5

The historic house was lovely and very comfortable. The grounds have a pond with a boat and fishing gear. The kids were begging to go back as soon as we left. The hosts areso thoughtful - fresh strawberry bread in the fridge!

Lovely Country Home

  • 5 of 5

We arrived in the late evening and our hostess was very gracious in providing all the info for our overnight stay. Although a historic property, it was entirely updated inside. Our family was quite comfortable in this home as it offered the privacy that we were looking for while traveling with our young adult daughters. The abundant breakfast items were an added bonus that we do not usually experience in home rentals. Although we arrived late and checked out early, we were able to see that the outside property was amazing with a porch, pond, and playground--only wish we could have stayed long enough to enjoy them.
