About Patrick Rand
I purchased the home in 2004 while serving in Iraq and have made a lot of improvements, but haven't quite finished yet. Sorry for the unfinished stuff, I'll get to it as soon as possible! I travel a lot for for work and the military, so try to rent it out when I am not there.

Why Patrick Rand chose Richmond
I purchased this home because it is very unique in how convenient it is to get on the highway yet so peaceful, quiet and relaxing.
What makes this Cottage unique
Pleasant Pond connects to Cobboseecontee Stream, which connects to many other ponds and lakes. There are literally miles and miles of exploring you can do on the water. Large lawn for playing games and nestled in behind farm pastures, so you can't even see the property from the main road.

Lovely little home on the lake
My husband, baby, dog and I had a really nice stay at this cozy cabin. Patrick was very responsive and helpful with all questions. We used the canoe and enjoyed it and the kitchen and the grill were great for dinners.
The stairs from the driveway to the house are pretty steep and uneven, so this house probably isn't right for elderly people or the disabled. (I was a little nervous carry the baby down the stairs).
The front reading room with all the windows right on the lake is so beautiful. I wish it was a bedroom so you can wake up to views of the lake instead of the dark back bedrooms that currently exist.
The deck is also really nice to eat dinner around the table.
Beautiful Home on the Pond
We had a wonderful time in here at the cottage. Pleasant Pond is right out front with a great dock big enough to put some chairs on. We loved the deck and the ability to use the grill. Canoe was fun to paddle around in. We would go back in a heartbeat.
Great relaxing vacation
Loved the cabin !! 3 teenagers were quite happy with the rope swing , pool table and use of boats . We heard the loons, saw a bald eagle , and caught some wide mouth bass just off the dock. It's definitely an upscale cabin with that great kitchen. Looking forward to going back again !!

The Perfect Maine Getaway!
Had an amazing long weekend at the Cottage. There was no shortage of things to do; we snowmobiled on the frozen pond, played pool and enjoyed the hot tub. A very private, relaxing and fun time had by all of us. The wood burning stove was a wonderful heat source and added to the ambiance of the cabin. Anything you could possibly need is provided. There was a grocery store only 6 short miles away for food supplies. Any questions we had while we were there and the owner got right back to us. It was such a pleasure we are already talking about going back next month for another stay. Lastly, being part of the Military family, it is very much appreciated that Mr. Rand, as a Veteran and Soldier is so gracious as to give generous Military discounts. We thank you.
One of my favorite places on the planet
We have stayed at the Litchfield house of Patrick Rand for at least 3 years now. We are NOT high maintenance people and this is comfortable and we enjoy the solitude during the winter. We appreciate the property and the amenities that are included such as the pool table, the hot tub and the wood stove. It is not a hotel, but it is exactly what I would want if I could afford a house on a lake in Maine.
I am so glad that you once again enjoyed your stay and continue to come back year after year! Thanks for taking such good care of my home while you were here.
The property was just like the picture . The cottage was clean and comfy .
Wow just what I was looking for , to get away and relax. Getting there we turned onto a dirt road next to a farm , then the cottage was at the end just to the left . Having looked at the pictures on line I could tell which driveway it was . If I was getting there in the dark it would have been a problem . So a sign with the number would be helpful , unless I missed it. The cottage was a great size for my family with 2 teenage boys . The hot tub, pool table, ( should fix some of pool cues , but we found a good one and shared), the kayak, the dock, the rope swing , the hammock and just the beauty of the lake added up to one relaxing vacation . The notebook with restraunt selections was used and we had a very nice Thai meal . Grocery store was about only 20 mins away with selection of wines , beer , and hard liquor(which they don't sell in my grocery store),so was nice one stop shopping. They had plenty of bug spray but we did not need during the week of August that we stayed. Would so go back and enjoy this relaxing cottage again . Would find it interesting to see in the winter time . Thanks again for sharing your cottage !!!
Thanks for the feedback. Pool cues have been a struggle for some reason. No matter how many I buy or repair, they keep getting broken. I'll try a different brand and maybe I'll have better luck. Glad you enjoyed your stay and I'll also try to place a bigger sign at the top of the driveway. There is one there, but not very easy to see. If you are able to come back this winter, please let me know.
