VERY QUIET AND RELAXING WATERFRONT!!!! 2+bedroom, 2200 square foot cabin for rent on Pleasant Pond in Litchfield, Maine. Available for a long weekend or by the week. House sits just feet to the water, with 180 feet of water frontage and has a large deck overlooking the pond. Amazing location offering a peaceful environment, yet convenient to I95 and I295 (just 15 minutes to Augusta, 35 minutes to the Lewiston/Auburn area and 50 minutes to Portland). Home has 2 bedrooms in addition to 2 lofts for guests. Kitchen offers 5 burner gas stove, mahogany cabinets and Deer Isle granite counter tops. Enjoy watching a meteor shower from the outdoor hot tub during a cool evening or stay warm and cozy inside next to the wood stove. Very quiet, yet convenient location. Enjoy miles of fun, sunshine and unbelievable fishing on Pleasant Pond and Cobboseecontee Stream. Relax in the hammock, grill some steaks on the deck while watching the boats go by and the fish jump, or play a game of horseshoes and watch the cows and horses at the adjacent farm. Canoe and rowboat are on site, or bring your own boat and tie up to the dock. If cabin fever starts to set in, within 20 minutes are plenty of great restaurants, outlet stores, movie theaters and golf courses. Fully furnished with washer and dryer on site. Firewood on site. No smoking allowed in the house. Small pets allowed with additional pet deposit. Beautiful, relaxing property but still some unfinished construction not recommended for toddlers whose curiosity might get the better of them. We are working every chance we get to make sure our home is safe and sound and "kid-friendly", so please keep checking in. We proudly support our military and will offer a generous military discount. Occupancy greater than 5 guests will cost extra.
We are both in the Army National Guard and just returned from Afghanistan. Our work commitments currently have us in New Hampshire so we have decided to rent out our home. We purchased it in 2004 while serving in Iraq and have made a lot of improvements, but aren't quite finished yet. Sorry for the unfinished stuff, we'll get to it as soon as possible!
Patrick Rand purchased this cottage in 2004
We purchased this home because it is very unique in how convenient it is to get on the highway yet so peaceful, quiet and relaxing.
Pleasant Pond connects to Cobboseecontee Stream, which connects to many other ponds and lakes. There are literally miles and miles of exploring you can do on the water. At one end is a store where you can buy gas, sandwiches, drinks and pizza. Large lawn for playing games and nestled in behind farm pastures, so you can't even see the property from the main road.
Wow just what I was looking for , to get away and relax. Getting there we turned onto a dirt road next to a farm , then the cottage was at the end just to the left . Having looked at the pictures on line I could tell which driveway it was . If I was getting there in the dark it would have been a problem . So a sign with the number would be helpful , unless I missed it. The cottage was a great size for my family with 2 teenage boys . The hot tub, pool table, ( should fix some of pool cues , but we found a good one and shared), the kayak, the dock, the rope swing , the hammock and just the beauty of the lake added up to one relaxing vacation . The notebook with restraunt selections was used and we had a very nice Thai meal . Grocery store was about only 20 mins away with selection of wines , beer , and hard liquor(which they don't sell in my grocery store),so was nice one stop shopping. They had plenty of bug spray but we did not need during the week of August that we stayed. Would so go back and enjoy this relaxing cottage again . Would find it interesting to see in the winter time . Thanks again for sharing your cottage !!!
Bring your personal items and food, everything else is provided. The property is well taken care of and exactly as described. Right on the water with a dock and everything else at your fingertips. What a relaxing time and private. Don't worry about any updates being performed, they are not in your way, will not prevent you from having a great time and everything you need is already here & works great.
Would rent again without hesitation.
Great stay, lake was beautiful, house was clean, beds were comfortable. Would recommend this house for any type of group, family with young kids, group of young adults, etc. The water was deep, could jump in off a rope, not mucky. The hot tub was delightful too. Owner took great care in setting everything up. Would come again!
This is the second time we have stayed here. We love the location as there are very few year round homes on the pond which makes it very peaceful.
The cabin was exactly what it was described to be. Absolutely beautiful kitchen! The bathroom was very small and tough with 4 adults. The only thing I would recommend to bring is face cloths. The wood stove throws major heat and I don't think you would ever have to worry about being cold in the winter. We were so hot the first night, we didn't even use it the second night. Overall, great place and great time! !!!
We had a lovely time at this cabin. It is in a remote and quiet part of Maine where you can really get away from the hustle and bustle. The wood-burning stove made everything incredibly cozy! The kitchen was great for cooking and open to the main living room so everyone could be together while prepping meals. The sun room has the most gorgeous view of the water and the sunrise! The pool table offered some entertainment, and for those that still want to be plugged in, the tv system was great too! Things were in good condition when we arrived and the amenities were true to the description. The bathroom was a little cramped, but hey...it's a cabin! All in all, we had a great time!
