Great Experience for a first timer

  • 5 of 5

I have always booked hotels when traveling. Since a small group of family members were tagging along, I decided to look into an owner property as an option. After exploring and pulling the trigger on this property, I have to say that I was very happy to have done so. The property was clean, cozy and comfortable. It had all the amenities I would find in my own home and the owner was pro-active and making sure all was well while we were there. I would and will look to this property again the next time I am in NYC. Thanks Jason!

This place is PERFECT!! We will be back!!

  • 5 of 5

My best friend and I took our 17 year old sons to their first trip to NYC!! I somehow stumbled on this little gem of a place!!! This place is perfect! The apartment was clean, had everything we needed, the beds were all comfortable. Jason was a wonderful host! We were literally 2 minutes from the train station. We hopped right on it early every morning and didn't return until late most nights. We always felt safe.

Amazing vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We billed our trip to NYC as "Christmas and Comedy." The Reading Room Suite was just the perfect home base for our activities. The A Train is one block a way and a quick trip into Manhattan, where we took in all the sites, improv, standup comedy, Macy's windows, NBC, 30 Rock, and its Christmas tree.

The Bed-Stuy neighborhood is peaceful and we always felt safe. Had wonderful meals at Peaches and Emmeline's.

The suite is just as described and pictured. Jason is a wonderful host, gracious with his time and information. We look forward to our next chance to visit NYC and stay at the Reading Room Suite!

What a great week!

  • 5 of 5

Our family traveled to New York for a week we billed as Christmas and comedy! It was all we hoped it would be, made possible in part because of our wonderful accommodations. The Reading Room Suite is just as billed--clean, spacious and convenient. One block form the A train makes going into Manhattan a breeze, regardless of the time of day. The neighborhood is quiet and welcoming. While we didn't dine in the area for dinner, we do highly recommend both Peaches and Emmaline's for brunch/breakfast. Jason was a wonderful host, gracious with his time and information. We will definitely be staying here again when we next return to NYC!

Jason was very accommodating and flexible. Property comfortable and clean. Close to metro. Safe area

It's in a basement, without windows in the common area with the hideabed, so it's easy to oversleep!

Helpful and friendly hosts.

Good value.

Owner's Response: Hi Janice, thank you for your review! The Reading Room Suite apartment is located in the lower garden level of a historic limestone house. The common area allows light through the blinds of the front door. The sun comes up late in the winter and it is easy to snooze after a long fun-filled day. I'm so glad that that you found the apartment to be convenient, safe and a great value. Please visit us again in the future :)

Hello,

Stayed from Oct. 24 -31 2017. Family of six . Children 15 , 11 and 8 . We really appreciated coming home to Brooklyn after being in Manhattan all day running around. There is a great convinience store just a block away and an Italiann bakery near by great for coffee. Jason was awesome !! The house has everything you need . AC .. a lot of towels and is just great overall ..We totally recommend it . We were visiting from Mexico and enjoyed getting a feel of the normal life in Brooklyn did some really good shoping in Brooklyn too. Thank you Jason for everything.

About Jason

This limestone home has been carefully taken care of since it was built in 1910. The neighborhood of Stuyvesant Heights is home to many families including my own. We enjoy the neighborhood feel, the magnificent New York architecture, the independent coffee shops and trendy restaurants. The A Train is less than 100 ft. from the apartment and your trip into the city will take approximately 25 minutes. Clearly, Brooklyn itself is a destination and you will be right in the center if you choose to stay at the Reading Room Suite.

We look forward to having you enjoy the neighborhood as many, many travelers from around the world do every day! Have breakfast in the Reading Room Suite or in one of the many neighborhood eateries before setting out on your day to explore all that New York has to offer.

Warmest regards, Jason
