About Jason

This limestone home has been carefully taken care of since it was built in 1910. The neighborhood of Stuyvesant Heights is home to many families including my own. We enjoy the neighborhood feel, the magnificent New York architecture, the independent coffee shops and trendy restaurants. The A Train is less than 100 ft. from the apartment and your trip into the city will take approximately 25 minutes. Clearly, Brooklyn itself is a destination and you will be right in the center if you choose to stay at the Reading Room Suite.

We look forward to having you enjoy the neighborhood as many, many travelers from around the world do every day! Have breakfast in the Reading Room Suite or in one of the many neighborhood eateries before setting out on your day to explore all that New York has to offer.

Clean clean clean and nicely decorated. Felt like home.

We loved this home and we will be back. It was very comfortable and large enough for my whole family. The beds and bedding were of good quality. We felt safe and very relaxed. Very close to the A train about a 3minute walk. The host gave us a map and great instructions on how to get around and find things. Loved the patio. There is a grocery store 2 blocks away which we used to prepare a full breakfast and dinner. Loved it there! Thanks Jason and Mom for making our stay great!

An excellent first HomeAway experience!

We totally enjoyed our stay at the reading room suite. It was impeccably clean, and extremely well equipped. It was exactly as pictured - very nicely updated. The block we were on was beautiful and we felt perfectly safe walking the 5 minutes to and from the A/C line subway stop even late at night. Inside the apartment, we had bottled water, laundry detergent, dishes, a hair dryer and flat iron, first aid items, clean linens (and plenty of them!), books and board games for all ages - everything we needed to make our stay a breeze. The huge patio was fantastic! Jason was incredibly hospitable- he met us when we arrived and helped us carry our luggage in. One night we texted him to ask where we could get some wine and bottled water and he brought it to us, we didn't even have to go out!

Just as an FYI, as it is a basement apartment, if you are a tall person, you will need to duck walking up and down the stairs in and out of the apartment. But that's 10 seconds out of your day, and the ceilings inside the apartment are quiet high and the apartment doesn't feel small or closed-in at all. We would definitely stay here again!

Gem in the city

The reading room is perfect for a family vacation. The apartment is clean and spacious with all your travel commodities. Don't doubt in making your reservation. Jason is super nice and helpful. We arrived and he showed us around the apartment and answered all our city questions. I would definetly book this apartment again!!

Nice, clean, super friendly, convenient

If you're looking for a cheaper way to stay near Manhattan...this is it. This peoperty Is just a couple minutes walk to the subway. It is in a nice, clean neighborhood. It is a basement apartment, but it was clean and they thought of everything that you may need for a great stay near the city. Everyone that we dealt with was so friendly and helpful.

Most Comfortable

This apartment is conveniently located near to subways, shopping and site seeing. The apartment itself is furnished 'over and above' for a family of 5 or 6. It is very comfortable and the owners are very personable. My family and I spent three nights there and we're already planning to return. It's so much nicer than staying in a hotel room. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a "home away from home".

Took the stress and concerns out of our trip.

My wife and I were very delighted to have located and booked our stay with our 10 year old granddaughter at this location. We appreciated Jason, and others in his family, making our visit smooth and enjoyable. We received great information that helped plan our trip, our arrival and places in the area that helped with the day to day needs while there. When I started to feel concerned about returning to LaGuardia, he made arrangements while I was with him that relieved the stress I was beginning to feel. The property was very nice, clean and cared for, and in a charming neighborhood. The close access to a major line (express) of the subway system made getting into and around Manhattan from Liberty and Ellis Island to Central Park, or beyond if we had planned to go that far north, very quick and smooth. This is definitely a place to stay when visiting New York.
