This is a beautifully furnished, newer townhome in the heart of Avalon that offers ocean views and is just a short walk to the beach, shopping and activities. With two master bedroom suites upstairs, it's perfect for two couples or a family. Each of the master suites' have a king size bed, custom treatments, an attached bathroom, flat screen TV and a balcony with a beautiful view of the harbor and ocean beyond.

This unit can definitely be your home away from home, with the in unit washer (water allotment permitting) and dryer, comfortable leather furniture, fully equipment gourmet kitchen, and separate dining area with a flat screen TV that seats 6 with views to the harbor. The welcoming living room with a queen size sofa sleeper comes complete with a flat screen TV, DVD, CD and iPod input system. All that is missing is you! Make your reservations TODAY.

Why the Owner Chose Catalina Island, Avalon: We have been visiting Catalina Island for years. We would sail to Avalon, and stay on our boat moored in the harbor. We had such a wonderful time in the Summer we decided to visit Avalon in the Winter. Again, we had a wonderful time, but it was too chilly (for us) to stay on the boat. So when a new development of 8 townhomes in the heart of Avalon neared completion we decided to buy so we could enjoy the Island year round.

The Unique Benefits at this Townhome: As a family of 4 it is important to me to be able to do things together such as mini golf, regular 9 holes of golf, hiking, biking, touring the Island, kayaking in harbor, scuba diving, going to the beach, family movie night watching DVDs and riding the new zip line as well as a multitude of other family oriented activities. But I can also enjoy special time with my husband as well; an evening movie at the Casino Theater, stroll to dinner, enjoy an evening night cap and stroll home, golf and lunch with friends and sleeping in. Individually I can relax and catch up on my reading, explore the shops, take a peaceful early morning walk along the harbor past the Casino to Descanso Beach and take time to cook a fun meal for my family.

Why Jan chose Los Angeles area

We have been visiting Catalina Island for years. We would sail to Avalon, and stay on our boat moored in the harbor. We had such a wonderful time in the Summer we decided to visit Avalon in the Winter. Again, we had a wonderful time, but it was too chilly (for us) to stay on the boat. So when a new development of 8 townhomes in the heart of Avalon neared completion we decided to buy so we could enjoy the Island year round.

What makes this townhome unique

As a family of 4 it is important to me to be able to do things together such as mini golf, regular 9 holes of golf, hiking, biking, touring the Island, kayaking in harbor, scuba diving, going to the beach, family movie night watching DVDs and riding the new zip line as well as a multitude of other family oriented activities. But I can also enjoy special time with my husband as well; an evening movie at the Casino Theater, stroll to dinner, enjoy an evening night cap and stroll home, golf and lunch with friends and sleeping in. Individually I can relax and catch up on my reading, explore the shops, take a peaceful early morning walk along the harbor past the Casino to Descanso Beach and take time to cook a fun meal for my family.

One thing we did while we were there that was really wonderful was to take a hike with Catalina Backcountry. They provide a great, educational opportunity to hike with a guide and learn about the island's natural and human history, I know they would appreciate being recommended to future guests.



We also did some fabulous snorkeling in the marine preserve right by the harbor. Our son, who has dived all over the world, said it was one of the best spots for visibility he's ever seen.

Awesome place to stay!

Looking for a little vacation before we had our second daughter, my wife and figured Catalina would be a great little escape for us and our 2 year old daughter. My friend had stayed at this condo with his family a few months before and highly recommended it to me. I really glad I took his advice because it was a great spot to stay for our time on the island. The layout was perfect with the bedrooms upstairs and living space downstairs, worked out well when our 2 year old was napping. Centrally located everything was within walking distance and the nice ocean views were and added bonus. It was also nice that Vons was just down the street, made it easy to stock the kitchen up for with stuff when we didn't feel like dining out. I have nothing but good things to say about our entire experience, the beds were comfy, amenities were really nice, a perfect little spot for a Catalina getaway!

Very Comfortable Great Location

The condo is very clean and well appointed. The house fits 6 comfortably when utilizing the fold out couch. All of the beds including the fold out couch were comfortable and clean. The home is decorated nicely. The kitchen is very large. The views were much better than I expected. The neighborhood is quiet. We would highly recommend this residence. The owner Jan is very quick in responding to any questions you may have. The only thing to consider is there are a number of stairs and quite a steep hill to climb to the residence from town which would be very difficult for the elderly or unfit but for us we were fine. Please consider this if you have any health problems. Other than that the place is perfection. Who ever maintains your residence Jan is doing an excellent job (this coming form a neat freak). Thank you!

Beautiful townhome

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely townhome. It has an ideal floor plan for two couples, and is in a great location. Everything was in very good condition, and up to date. The beds were incredibly comfortable! The only thing unexpected was the power lines right in front of the beautiful view. It was easy to look past them though, and enjoy views of the water, evening lights and morning sunrise. I would definitely recommend this rental.

Great location, house, and host. Had a great visit to Catalina.

Located in downtown Avalon, the house was a perfect set up for our trip. The two master suites upstairs gave us plenty of space and a great view. Kitchen and family room were very nice. Jan was extremely responsive from the moment we booked out trip. About a 2 minute walk to Front Street and all the stores/restaurants/activities. Some of our friends who own places at Catalina came by one afternoon and said they would start recommending this one when friends ask them where to stay on the island. Highly recommend.

Home away from home.

My wife and I, along with two long time friends spent a fun filled week here recently. We all found it to be clean, quiet, and as my title indicates, truly a home away from home. We all agreed that this rental was worthy of a five star rating as it is rare to find a VRBO that is exactly as advertised. One caveat for prospective renters is if stairs are an issue, you need to be aware that there are 15 stairs to the front door, then probably 10 more to the upstairs bedrooms. I have no doubt this is the case with most houses in Avalon, based on the topography of the island, but if I'd brought my mother in law along, it would have been a very long week.

Jan was wonderful to work with, the neighbor lady was a gem, and our trip was a raging success. Thanks for a wonderful place, and a lifetime of memories!

Comfortable, well-appointed and convenient

Our family came for Mom's 60th birthday run of the Catalina Marathon. We loved this comfortable and well-stocked place, built with Catalina charm, but fully modern and functional on the inside. Jan was very easy to work with, and the arrangements with two master suites and a comfortable downstairs fold out bed worked perfectly for our family. The condo location was convenient to all the Avalon attractions, with the local market just down the street, and the beautiful new Catalina Museum (a must-see if you love Catalina) less than two blocks away. Thanks to Jan for making this lovely place available.

P.S. Joining the Catalina Island Conservancy before your trip will more than pay for itself in ferry and on-island discounts. Please consider doing this to support the Island long after your trip is over.
