This is a beautifully furnished, newer townhome in the heart of Avalon that offers ocean views and is just a short walk to the beach, shopping and activities. With two master bedroom suites upstairs, it's perfect for two couples or a family. Each of the master suites' have a king size bed, custom treatments, an attached bathroom, flat screen TV and a balcony with a beautiful view of the harbor and ocean beyond.

This unit can definitely be your home away from home, with the in unit washer (water allotment permitting) and dryer, comfortable leather furniture, fully equipment gourmet kitchen, and separate dining area with a flat screen TV that seats 6 with views to the harbor. The welcoming living room with a queen size sofa sleeper comes complete with a flat screen TV, DVD, CD and iPod input system. All that is missing is you! Make your reservations TODAY.

Why the Owner Chose Catalina Island, Avalon: We have been visiting Catalina Island for years. We would sail to Avalon, and stay on our boat moored in the harbor. We had such a wonderful time in the Summer we decided to visit Avalon in the Winter. Again, we had a wonderful time, but it was too chilly (for us) to stay on the boat. So when a new development of 8 townhomes in the heart of Avalon neared completion we decided to buy so we could enjoy the Island year round.

The Unique Benefits at this Townhome: As a family of 4 it is important to me to be able to do things together such as mini golf, regular 9 holes of golf, hiking, biking, touring the Island, kayaking in harbor, scuba diving, going to the beach, family movie night watching DVDs and riding the new zip line as well as a multitude of other family oriented activities. But I can also enjoy special time with my husband as well; an evening movie at the Casino Theater, stroll to dinner, enjoy an evening night cap and stroll home, golf and lunch with friends and sleeping in. Individually I can relax and catch up on my reading, explore the shops, take a peaceful early morning walk along the harbor past the Casino to Descanso Beach and take time to cook a fun meal for my family.

Why Jan chose Los Angeles area

We have been visiting Catalina Island for years. We would sail to Avalon, and stay on our boat moored in the harbor. We had such a wonderful time in the Summer we decided to visit Avalon in the Winter. Again, we had a wonderful time, but it was too chilly (for us) to stay on the boat. So when a new development of 8 townhomes in the heart of Avalon neared completion we decided to buy so we could enjoy the Island year round.

What makes this townhome unique

As a family of 4 it is important to me to be able to do things together such as mini golf, regular 9 holes of golf, hiking, biking, touring the Island, kayaking in harbor, scuba diving, going to the beach, family movie night watching DVDs and riding the new zip line as well as a multitude of other family oriented activities. But I can also enjoy special time with my husband as well; an evening movie at the Casino Theater, stroll to dinner, enjoy an evening night cap and stroll home, golf and lunch with friends and sleeping in. Individually I can relax and catch up on my reading, explore the shops, take a peaceful early morning walk along the harbor past the Casino to Descanso Beach and take time to cook a fun meal for my family.

One thing we did while we were there that was really wonderful was to take a hike with Catalina Backcountry. They provide a great, educational opportunity to hike with a guide and learn about the island's natural and human history, I know they would appreciate being recommended to future guests.



We also did some fabulous snorkeling in the marine preserve right by the harbor. Our son, who has dived all over the world, said it was one of the best spots for visibility he's ever seen.

If you are looking for a quiet, convenient, beautifully furnished home away from home - look no further. From the moment we entered until (much too soon) we closed the doors behind us and headed for our boat, my 2 daughters, and granddaughter, grandson and my son, who joined us the following day, found absolutely everything we needed to be comfortable and never ever felt cramped or crowded. The beds are super comfortable, the 2.5 bathrooms fit our needs nicely, the kitchen was very well stocked and we loved the complementary items provided by a very special hostess. Thank you, Jan. We really wished we had more time to spend with you, but we were able to prepare and get going on our 50 mile Avalon Benefit Run with a 4 A.M. start this year and my 26 year old granddaughter had a good base to work from, while waiting for us to finish around 5 P.M. My 22 year old grandson ran with me as a pacer and it was a very special time with him. He especially loved that he could take a tub bath after covering 20 more miles than he had ever done before. Together we ran 33 miles, he is a distance runner, but 14 miles was his previous longest distance. In school he ran cross-country and track. So sweet that he didn't want to leave me out there alone. We saw an Island fox on the road about 200 yards from us, and another at a distance, on the climb out of Two Harbors, and a couple of bison grazing next to the road as we approached the 33 mile aid station at Little Harbor on the way back from the isthmus. It was a magical weekend for us and we can't thank Jan enough for the care and love she pours into this lovely condo. We hope to be able to return, and we highly recommend this property to enhance a group of up to six people's stay on the island. There are entertainment systems, board games, etc. for those times when you want to relax after a day of sight-seeing. We didn't have the time to take advantage of it all, but we were very aware of all the great attention to creating an atmosphere of leisurely comfort that was provided. Once again a very heartfelt 'Thank you' to Jan for all your special consideration that made our weekend even better. We won't forget and we'll pass the word.

This house is everything we were looking for in a rental home. It is in a heat location to walk anywhere you want to go it was very clean and modern and was equipped with everything you need. Will definitely not hesitate to stay here again next time I return to Catalina Island.

Definitely staying here again!!!

Location, location, location!!! Our family of 6 stayed at 219A Beacon Street for 5 days and 5 nights, and we are definitely coming back!! The place is perfectly located a block from the beach and in very close walking distance to all the restaurants, shops, arcade and a half of a block from the Vons grocery store. The house is very clean, nicely decorated, wonderful amenities and has great views. Jan is great and very helpful. Only good things to say about 219A Beacon Street!
