About the property

5 Bedrooms, 2.5 Bathrooms, Sleeps 15

The #1 and only private vacation home at the Grand Canyon. Located on closest property only a few minutes from the Park. With 2 living rooms, 5 bedrooms, and 3 baths you'll find this fully furnished home so much more comfortable than a hotel. Fun memories happen here!! It's so convenient for all your day trips. Very private and quiet surrounded by nature and it's friendly wildlife nestled in your own little world only a minute off the highway to Grand Canyon. Bring the family, bring 2, you've got plenty of room to enjoy your own space and a wonderful nature experience right from the comfort of your own home. Enjoy 2 roomy sitting areas. One has a fireplace, with great southwest decor. A private family room which is a quiet place to visit or read. You can fit a large crowd into the large country kitchen . . .fully furnished. The large table expands to 11 chairs with more at the bar and plenty or cookware and counter top space. Don't forget the sunset and great views.

After a gorgeous sunset, you can enjoy the local nightlife with a wide array of entertainment or have a quiet evening around the fireplace/wood stove enjoying each others company or watching your favorite dish network channel.

This area is an artist's and photographer's dream. The children especially love the Flintstones Town, the arcade, bowling, Indian dancing and cowboy singing, all approximately five minutes away, and the Deer Farm with so many tame and friendly wild animals, just 30 minutes away.

You'll feel the quaintness and quiet of rustic remoteness, yet be just two minutes off Highway 64, and about 15 minutes from Grand Canyon National Park.

This mountain-view home is conveniently close to all the places you'll want to visit. And convenience stores, gas, and food, restaurants and gift shop facilities are only about 5-10 minutes depending which way you go.

Guestbook comments from the manager

I have had so may great verbal reviews before and since the last 2, which were from the same party. I didn't feel they were fair, and I remind my guests, if you're looking for busy city bustle, it's just not in this region. This is remote, open country, lots of land and trails and back roads to enjoy and explore. Our guests get to see the natural habitat and wildlife all around them, It reminds me of the Australian outback, there will not be pavement everywhere, or sidewalks, or shopping malls, We're actually proud of that. I've been to so many now commercialized tourist areas and it has definitely killed the atmosphere and detracted from the real beauty of area. At this World Wonder I believe we have maintained that original, historical and natural experience. Folks, it's not Los Angeles.

This guest group was from Austrailia and they loved it. Here were their parting remarks.

"Trish, I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know what an amazing time we had in the Grand Canyon. None of us had been to the Park before and I must say that we were completely awe struck by the enormity of the Canyon on a very misty and evocative day, we also spent a very sunny day there and as result saw very different perspectives of the Canyon. We managed to be at the Canyon on both a sunset and sunrise and as a keen photographer I got some fantastic shots as the light changed at dusk and dawn. We also flew over it in a helicopter. We spent a day exploring the local towns visiting both Williams and Flagstaff and experienced very friendly bears up close in Bearizona!

All in all it was a terrific visit made even better by staying in your very comfortable and welcoming home. We thoroughly enjoyed the facilities, space and proximity to the Park.

Thankyou so much for allowing us to stay in the house.

Unfortunate

  • 1 of 5

Yikes! First and foremost I did not know it was a mobile home in a mobile park. This should be made clear to upcoming renters. The stairs coming up to the home are shaky.

Secondly the mobile home needs lots of repair. The paint is dingy and there was dust in multiple areas, hair in the master bathroom. Both full bathrooms had leaky faucets. The water pressure was variable and on the first day we did not have hot water. Most of the blinds were dirty. There was a closet where spare linen was thrown in a heap on the floor.

Probably the most annoying thing to deal with when you are on vacation is the old temperamental fridge. At first it was hardly working then it did get cooler the next day.

Trish arranged for a new fridge to be placed and when we came home that evening the fridge was sitting on the front porch. Needless to say we were a little concerned about the 400 dollars worth of food we had purchased.

The Wifi was ridiculous. It was almost impossible to get a connection.

Overall the one star is because we were happy to be on vacation. Otherwise I hope this review helps others.

Vacation is not the time to worry about the items listed.

A Great Stay

  • 5 of 5

Had a great time while we were there. Lots of space, and everything we needed for enjoying the week. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen well appointed. Would stay there again.

Uniquely Wonderful Experience

  • 5 of 5

Our trip to the Grand Canyon was so enhanced by the comforts of having this large (awsomely furnished) home. It really rounded out our experience of enjoying the country, the nature and beauty of it. My gosh! we watched a herd of elk move thru the back meadow area one evening while we were enjoying the spectacular sunset and grilling our dinner. We ate and sat visiting on the large open deck and enjoyed a fabulous star show that was such a treat. We had everything we needed in the home. Felt very welcomed and accommodated. Will definitely be coming back. The home was quick access off the hwy to the Park, yet very private.

Nice Get-Away

  • 4 of 5

Rustic, out in the desert, and near the Grand Canyon. The house was very clean, the beds were good. We had 6 adults and 2 toddlers and had plenty of space. We did have a noisy woodpecker making noise every morning but it was time to get up anyway. I would stay again.
