A beautiful place to get away from work and enjoy good quality time together. Close enough to town to go shopping or just stay home and watch movies all day. Highly recommend this place! Worth every penny!
Overall great place! Had a lovely time and would recommend to friends. You are right off 290 which makes it easy going to wineries or to town. The cabin is closer to the highway than expected but you cannot hear the traffic when inside and didnt disturb us at the fire pit. We loved that we had the whole place to ourselves. No awkward neighbors so we could let our dog explore his heart out! The inside was cute and clean. The shower and bath were amazing! The place lost a star because towels were thin and small and the coffee machine was so old it took 30 minutes to brew 5 cups (there was supposed to be a kuerig but couldn't find it?).
I do not normally write negative reviews but i feel i should put this out as a warning to others. I planned a secret road trip anniversary for my wife and I to Fredericksburg. From the add, this looks like the perfect quiet, private cabin for such a trip. It couldn't have been farther from the truth.
When we found the cabin, the term "in the middle of a peach orchard" was anything but. That statement makes you feel this is somewhat of a quiet location. It is located on the edge of a peach orchard less than 100 ft from Hwy 290. Anything but quiet.
"Luxury cabin and upscale linens" were far from the reality of what we walked into in this cabin. The couch and chairs in the living room must have been 30 yrs old and the mattress was probably about the same. I'm all into old furnishings done tastefully but this was like something you'd walk past in a garage sale. Linens were cheap polyester from Walmart more than likely. The Bedspread had some considerable age to it with a large bleach stain in the middle of it with the most deflated pillows I've ever come across in a B&B. Dust was caked on light fixtures along with open food packages in the fridge we were welcome to help ourselves to. This may have been a nice cabin at one time but it's in desperate need of an upgrade to compete with the prices they are charging to stay here. Run away, Run away
To some this may indeed be a Luxury secluded cabin but most looking to pay for a B and B and a nice relaxing stay will do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere so your time is not wasted as mine was. we did not stay in this cabin but went into town and found something else last minute.
This modern log cabin is located about 10 miles East of Fredricksburg, just a few minute drive to downtown area. It also sits in front of a large peach orchard and we were fortunate to arrive at peak peach pic kin' time! Just off the back porch the tree was loaded with ripe, juicy peaches--that was until the peach=pickers arrived the next day for the prime ones and on the following day to shake the trees for all to be gathered.
The cabin was fully stocked with about everything one could need, coffee, condiments, kitchenware, even fresh eggs in the refrigerator and canned peach and plum jam on the counter for us to use. The Jacuzzi and tiled shower were a bonus as was the washer and dryer. The king size bed could use a better mattress but we had no problems sleeping soundly after a day of activities. There was cable TV with a DVD player (some problem getting DVD to work but owner made trip to cabin to solve the issue). Many DVDs in the cabinet to peruse. We were disappointed there was no Internet service at the cabin but it wasn't a big problem since we were only there for 4 nights before going on to Austin for the weekend.
We enjoyed visiting Fredricksburg and Boerne, German food was good at Altdorf, Der Lindenbaum and Auslander. Loved the art galleries, especially the eclectic Rustic River Art Gallery visiting with owner/artist Carlos Moseley. Great clothing shop "Of A Muse" on S. Main in Boerne. Somewhat disappointed in wineries charging $15 for tasting the wine, quite different from our free tasting experiences in Calif. and OR where we could taste anything free before purchase.
We would consider returning if in the area again but would check to see if it was peach pic-kin' time and be prepared to bake a pie! Would recommend to friends visiting area, plenty of room and living areas appeared clean. (Don't drop something and look under the bed with a flashlight) The owner was very friendly and helpful although busy with harvest and roadside peach stand.
This was cute clean place to stay, it's right off 290 by all the winerys. Such a convenient location, my husband and I truly enjoyed our stay.
We absolutely loved this place. Very cozy and beautiful. I loved the decor. My fiancé proposed to me on the back porch so it is of course our new favorite get away place.
