Why Georgia Raysman chose Nantucket Town
Sconset is like Brigadoon, the perfect village that only appears once a century. Tall hedges, children on bikes with tennis rackets, an historic church and a strong sense of community and continuity are its major characteristics. Low Beach, where we are, is like big sky country on the beach: the sky and the stars at night are so peaceful. In Sconset and Nantucket we have the best of all worlds: beaches and historic architecture!
What makes this Apartment unique

A perfect retreat
We stayed at Sandpiper for a week in August 2012 and couldn't have been happier with our experience. Georgia and her family are wonderful hosts. They are helpful when asked and never intrusive on their guests' privacy. Their lot is set immediately across the street from one of the island's more remote beaches, a beautiful and usually deserted setting just a short walk away from the Summer House resort. Great swimming, great place to sit under an umbrella and speed through a beach read. Sandpiper Cottage is maybe an eight minute bike ride from the 'Sconset store, which means it is very quiet and peaceful. And the actual apartment is clean and well-maintained. I can't recommend it enough for a couple that just wants to get away, to read, swim and relax.
The Sandpiper cottage was the perfect getaway for our one week stay. You are five minutes walk from from the beach, and it is extremely quiet and private, the road dead ends do that there is very little traffic. It is a one bedroom with a pull out couch, so it was the perfect set-up for me and my 12 year old son. Cottage is not fancy, but was very cute, cozy, clean, and well equipped. Excellent deck for sipping your morning coffee. We rented bikes (not a car) and were able to get everywhere easily, and if you want to go into Nantucket town, you can even take your bikes on the bus from Sconset!
Would love to stay there again.
Whale watching from Nantucket town; walking tours of historic Nantucket architecture; wonderful events all summer sponsored by local non-profit organizations: house tours, kitchen tours, garden tours. Plus great lecture series by world-famous speakers, Tuesday night classical music concerts (preceded by Monday night Get To Know The Artists), film series.
