Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday home in Teaneck - Seek Solace

3 Bedroom, 1 1/2 Bath, with Gardens

This charming Tudor style home built in the late 1920s is a comfortable way to enjoy a visit to New York City. There are 3 bedrooms that sleep a total of 6 in beds, and available air mattresses can accommodate up to 8. The master bedroom features a Queen size four poster bed, the attic bedroom has a full size bed, and the home theater room has a full size futon. The kitchen includes full size appliances, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and hot water kettle. There is a separate dining room, living room, breakfast nook and sunroom, and there is a washer and dryer in the basement.

Our home is colorfully decorated with a collection of antiques, among comfortable modern furnishings. Front and back gardens surround the home with lush flowers and trees. There is back deck with a table and chairs for outdoor dining, an Adirondack lawn swing to let the days slide away into peaceful nights, and bench in the front garden, to sip a cool drink in the afternoon sun while watching butterflies. Seek, and you will find solace!

About Sara Pearson

We are opera singers, and I bet you don't hear that every day! In the summers, our 'off season,' we love to travel and enjoy the great outdoors. During the hectic opera season, we enjoy the peace and quiet of our home, which we lovingly call 'Seek Solace.' We hope you will enjoy being our guests!

Sara Pearson purchased this house in 2006

Why Sara Pearson chose New Jersey

We work in Manhattan, and love the city and all it has to offer. But, after a full day of opera, we crave peace and quiet. That's why we chose this neighborhood and this house. It's close to the city, either by transit or by car, so we can manage the short commute even with our busy schedule, but it's away from the hustle and bustle of the city that never sleeps. It truly is the best of both worlds.

What makes this house unique

In addition to it's location, our favorite feature of this property is the gardens, both in front and back. We love to have dinner outside as often as we can, enjoying the flowers and relaxing to the sound of birds and crickets.

Lovely home in an excellent location.

My husband and I with our adult son stayed at this property for approximately two months. The home is exactly as pictured with beautiful gardens. Cedar lane, which is the main Avenue is a short walk/drive away with lots of very nice places to eat as well as the famous Bischoffs Ice Cream parlor which we frequently visited! The Jitney service on Route 4 is awesome. They run a few minutes apart and gets you to any of the three malls (Riverside Square, Bergen Mall and Garden State Mall) within minutes! Commuting to New York City was a breeze. Our Hosts were great and would send us text messages to see if we needed anything. We highly recommend staying at this property! We would absolutely return if our travels take us to New Jersey in the future. Thank you Rick and Sara for having us in your beautiful home.

All the comforts of home are made available

  • 5 of 5

We traveled to NJ for a wedding with my parents and our 3 children. This home met all of our needs: fully stocked kitchen and cooking materials available, large bedrooms with closets, and 1.5 bathrooms, perfect TV room for the kids with gaming, and all the little extras you need while traveling. It truly feels like a home away from home.

The love the owners have for their home is evident. It's nicely decorated and the gardens are stunning. The front and backyard are gorgeous and make a perfect background for pictures or a serene escape.

The neighborhood is great and very safe. Beautiful homes and landscapes line the street and make for nice walks. The highway is very close by making it easy to get to NY and other towns in NJ. Many shops and restaurants are nearby.

Overall a perfect stay and the owners went above and beyond in accommodating us including our early arrival. Thank you!

Lovely Place

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect rental house to get away and relax for a vacation. Richard was very helpful with all our needs and made sure our stay was incident free. The neighborhood was quiet, and the drive to NYC and other places was manageable. We enjoyed the antique figurines and sculptures around the house, and just felt very homie. If we every took another vacation to NYC, we would definitely choose this place again.

Quaint and Classy

  • 4 of 5

Comfortable vintage house stocked with all that we needed to have a relaxing stay. House was in a quiet neighborhood. Close to the city. Would recommend driving in to Brooklyn, parking and then taking the metro to get around the city.

Couldn't have found a more perfect place to call home for our family that included 6 teenagers! This house was amazing and worked out perfectly for our vacation to NYC! Sara was amazing to work with, always responded promptly when we reached out to her with questions while we planned or trip. The neighborhood was wonderful, house was so very unique in so many ways with all the needs of home! Grocery store and restaurants close by. Loved everything about it, from the decor, cozy backyard, to location, and all the additional that you do not have if you chose to hotel! We felt VERY comfortable! Bus stop was walking distance to get to GWB in which you can grab your choice of public transportation to hit up NYC! Everything worked perfectly for us! Don't think twice about renting this amazing property! We hope to go back again and I would definitely refer anyone who was heading to NYC to stay at this beautiful home! Thank you Sara!

The ONLY way to visit New York City!

  • 5 of 5

I came to New York along with two friends from Texas, neither of whom had ever been to the East Coast. They both loved the house, and so did I. We all appreciated all the conveniences this house has to offer. My friends especially liked the idea of being close to all New York has to offer, but yet away from all the noise and crowds. One of them enjoyed using the TV setup to catch up on old episodes of "The Office". Travel tip: If you have access to a car when you're here, it's about a 30-minute drive (in light traffic) to City Island, in the northeast Bronx. You'll never believe you're in New York - it's as if a New England fishing village somehow got moved to the city. We're all looking forward to coming back there next year.
