Photos and Description of this 1 bedroom holiday home in Wasilla - Moose Manor

Cottage, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4)

Nestled amongst the birch and alder, Moose Manor boasts mountain views of Pioneer Peak and the Chugach Range.

With the open style floor plan and the bedroom on the second floor, there is ample space to relax in the modern moose themed abode.

Rustic tongue and groove, vaulted ceilings upstairs and a huge deck to expand out on are just some of the reasons our guests choose this cabin. Like Black Bear Bungalow, the views are icing on the proverbial cake (or should we say ‘Baked Alaska?’) with this Alaska getaway.

To provide for your comfort, the pillow tap mattresses, warm blankets, soft pillows and fluffy towel sets and themed quilts are all provided. Of course all of the mattresses, pillows have soft protective covers so you can rest easily.

Also provided for your use in the cabin is a full sized washer and dryer just in case you decide not to pack your laundry back home with you.

Whether you choose to relax and get away from it all or simply use the charming cabin as a place to rest your weary head after exploring Alaska, comfort and convenience are foremost with Suite Dreams Alaska!

You can choose your theme in one of four 'cabins' but the amenities are the same. Each has a full kitchen, full size refrigerator, dining area, living room, large bedroom area, full bathroom, washer & dryer and private decking.

Other themed cabins available are:

Fisherman’s Folly

Black Bear Bungalow

Alaska Dreams

Great for vacations, honeymoons, family and class reunions, a long weekend retreat or simply as temporary housing.

Two children under the age of 12 are excluded from additional guest charges.

About Larry & Jacque Ficek

About Us

“It’s Your Dream, That Makes it Ours, Too!”

Assisting folks in finding their Alaska home and property is our passion. Professional, friendly and available service with local knowledge.

We decided long ago that it would be a natural choice to also share our local expertise and love of our great state with not just homes and properties but with vacations too.

Jacque was born on Elmendorf AFB and is an Air Force brat. Her pop served 23 1/2 years and was stationed all over the US and Tripoli Libya. After his retirement in 1982, the family moved to Wasilla Alaska and has been here since. Jacque also has a background as a Palmer and Wasilla police officer so she knows the back roads and neighborhoods very well. She became licensed in and joined her husband Larry in real estate in 2001.

Larry is a Montana transplant and fell in love with Alaska from the minute he arrived. He understands the draw to move to this amazing state. If you need any fishing tips, he is always willing to share that advice as well! He has been licensed in real estate since 1997. Larry is well versed in negotiations and the current status of the market.

We both really enjoy meeting new people and sharing our local knowledge to folks visiting our area.

Larry & Jacque

Why Larry & Jacque Ficek chose Alaska

Larry and Jacque have made the Mat-Su Valley our home. It is a beautiful and rewarding place to live and work. The location is very convenient for us and for our guests. It is located in the heart of Wasilla and close to not only the local tourist attractions and adventures (the Iditarod Headquarters, the Alaska Railroad Wasilla station, Hatchers Pass, Independence Mine to name a few). Shopping (groceries, clothing, gear or souvenirs), restaurants, a 12 plex movie theater, trails, rivers, creeks and certainly mountains are very close by.

What makes this house unique

Moose Manor is an Alaskan themed rental that is 'suitcase ready.' Modern, clean and conveniently located with all the amenities of home. Relax knowing that you have a comfy base camp for all those activities and adventures that are waiting for you.

Guestbook comments from the owner

What turned out to be a tentative a week or two week stay was actually almost a two month stay for me with Larry and Jacque in a two of their wonderful cabins.

I could have not had any better accomodations and service from them! I had everything I needed plus more down to the coffee to internet service and the feeling of being right at home.

Anything I needed, they were right there to help me out with. I highly recommend their cabins whether it be for a short weekend stay or a longer stay. You will not be disappointed and if you need anything special, I know you will receive it.

Loved the feeling of peace I received during my stay.

Thank you Jacque and Larry for all you did for me.

Great stay at Moose Manor

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at Moose Manor. There was everything we needed and it was really clean, comfortable and cute. The moose theme goes throughout. Loved the mountain views, quiet neighbors on a dead end road. We are repeat renters and will be back! Donna and Wayne

Good home base for exploring

  • 4 of 5

This is a good central location for day trips exploring Alaska. Spend your day in the wilderness and return to the city for the evenings. Nice view from the front window over the deck. The only problem was it was really in the city with a lot of surrounding noise close to the main highway and train. The price is very reasonable for Alaska. The cabin was very clean and has everything you need to enjoy your stay.

Alaska again

  • 5 of 5

This is the 2nd time we stayed at your cabins and we had a great time again. Your cabin is always clean and we really enjoy the view of the woods and mountains. We will probably stay at your cabins again in 2017 when we make another visit.

Thanks again

Cute and convenient with a nice view

  • 4 of 5

My partner and I were happy to have this cute little cabin to come back to after a day of exploring. We enjoyed the moose theme and rustic decor. Everything in the cabin was pretty much like new. The deck in the front was perfect for coffee in the morning or a beer at night. The sleeping loft was very spacious and felt airy and cozy at the same time. The beds and pillows were softer and less supportive than what we're used to but all turned out fine, no back aches. Excellent location to check out some local hiking and paddling but also hit up the strip mall for shopping.

Moose Manor was great!! We loved it. Enjoyed cooking our own food, being able to relax, and enjoying the perfect views of the mountains and wild moose were some of the highlights for us!! Was hoping to run into Sarah Palin, but it never happened. LOL!! We live in the town were Ron Paul lives and he is out riding his bicycle in our neighborhood all the time, so we were being hopeful!! Thanks for your hospitality!!
